Idra so good.

I used to wonder how people could be so delusional that IdrA has a well developed fanboy community but then I remembered that 33% of Americans get all their info from Fox News and it all started to make sense.
The sooner IdrA leaves the better it will be for Esports, particularly foreigners in Esports. IdrA has mediocre skills, a losing record in any list of events you want to mention and a horrible attitude.
Pay me his salary. I'll win more games AND be a better face for western esports, mainly because I'd appreciate where I was and would want to work for it.
IdrA can basically be summarized as the progamer version of "10 MINS NO RUSH!!!"

that's harsh, idra's had a tough 6 months or so... if the pieces we've heard of his personal life are true.
i dislike idra's behaviour, but there's no doubting that he can be a great player when he wants to be.
first and foremost i think he needs to start respecting his opponent... idra doesn't seem to give any respect, so he doesn't deserve any respect in return. you play the game for fun - giving your opponent a 'free win' and an awfully disappointing series on purpose is a disrespectful waste of time. at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if you win or lose - at least show some fight and people will respect you for it.

Idra clearly didn't care, threw away the games, was BM the entire showmatch and was therefore punished for it. I see nothing wrong with this.
What if someone attempts to make a "viable sixpool" but it looks like a "unviable sixpool" to you – should that player be stripped from his pricemoney? So the rule should be something like "If NASL deem a sixpool build being a result of "not giving a fuck" the player will never be reinvited to a future NASL event unless forfeiting his or hers price money". I doubt it was his decision, but perhaps it was his team's. Perhaps they saw that his level of play was a disgrace and they demanded that he forfeit the prize or face further punitive measures within their organization. Perhaps they said give back the money or publicly apologize and he chose to give back the money. You are wrong in assigning blame and assuming that no rules were given to the players before the games were played. While you may be trying to use this example to create a debate over the powers of a tournament, you are arguing with people who are speaking specifically of these four games. I doubt their is anyone who would argue decisions made on a whim by tournament organizers is bad for the scene and most likely illegal. If I said I would pay you 10€ to mow my lawn and you mow it, but miss a section, we will come to an amicable decision, I give you 8 € or you come back to finish your job. First off I'll have to apologize for spelling prize-money wrong – english isn't my mother tongue.
But if you want to go down that road then I guess my second point would be your misuse of the possessive pronoun “their” when the correct term would be “there”.
Thirdly if you read my responses again I never claimed to know which rules that does or doesn't exist in NASL. What I did do was question the very use of rules concerning builds.
But you are right that I’ve interpreted Xeris response as NASL allowing Idra into the considerations for future events because of him forfeiting his money, when this isn’t necessarily the case. However if you read Xeris post “As a result, IdrA has forfeited his $100 consolation prize and we may reconsider inviting him to special events in the future.” Then I’d say that my assumption shouldn’t come as a shock. Saying it like Xeris is saying it, it certainly sounds like NASL’s considerations of inviting Idra in the future is a consequence of Idra forfeiting his money. If that isn’t the case then I’d argue the post is poorly written and prone to misunderstandings.
And yes, you are right that I was wrong to assume that NASL didn’t tell Idra that two sixpools in a row is a punishable offence. I admit that.
Lastly if you read my posts again you’ll notice that I’m not in favor of having rules about which buildorders that are allowed or not nor am I in favor of leaving the punishment of players to NASL’s best judgment. I would personally rather have tournaments stay the hell away from in game strategies bared from cheating and game-fixing.

What do we know of his personal life? I haven't been following the scene for the last year or so and am interested in what you could be referring to.
As far as the game is concerned I think the issue has been addressed, I think a lot of people haven't fully realized that he gained nothing and lost some fan support and therefore losing him money (tournament organizers and the like will think twice about inviting IdrA as well as stream numbers).
This is IdrA, he has been the same for the entirety of his playing career, I see no reason for him to change now, but maybe people will start to think this guy doesn't deserve the praise he gets, either way I doubt much will change.

Woopsies! Nice catch on the their ^-^
I agree that it is ambiguous when he says as a result he is forfeiting this money. It was not clearly defined who made that decision, just that it is a result of the poor play. You may assume the tournament fined him, or he was guilt ridden and wouldn't accept the money, or that Alex Garfield forced him to refuse it, but it wasn't specifically stated that they had decided it, as when Mr. Chae said GSL decided to revoke NaNiwa's invitation to Code S. However a poor showing is certainly within the rights of the tournament hosts to decide whether or not to invite that player back to another event. They must put on a good show for the sponsors and if a player is unable or unwilling to put on that show, then they have zero obligation to invite him back.
Tournaments should not tell a player what builds he may or may not use. However, perhaps they require that you give it a best effort and have that effort be subject to official review. If you decide to continue on despite this rule, then you must live with the consequences. That said, if the tournament cheats a player out of money that ought to have been fairly his, it can be assured that the tournament will not be long lasting, as was the case with ESWC and why so few players wanted to attend (not the same situation but ESWC didn't pay under old management so no one trusted their tournaments).
Either way, before hand that must be clearly defined rules agreed on by all parties. I agree with that. I think we just cannot argue about this based on the evidence. I agree that a tournament should not just make decisions on whims, but we cannot assume that that is what happened in this case.

He didnt calculate it, but it can work. So its frigging not the same as giving up. He could have 6 pooled better ofcourse. But TONS of players change up how they want to play and play, under par. Thats just what happened (probably, I won't claim I know what actually happened like you do). IdrA seems like I guy that can get tilted damn hard and play way below his standard. So its better to try to end it early with a smaller percentage chance if you feel you get that mad (thats my opinion at least if he actually got mad). And why the frigging uproar? If guy gets tilted and does a legit strat, but he doesnt do it as well as it could be done.... pfff, then TL has become tons worse than blizz forums ever was... games like occur ALL the time. Stop acting like crazy, little, self, entitled, idiots just because someone didnt conform to the standard GG, robot, korean way of acting. You guys need to lighten up Lol wow... and this is why you receive sarcastic drawl. You pretty much ignore/twist what I say into some bullshit. The point here is their is a huge difference between the way Lucky 6 pooled and the way Idra 6 pooled. Idra basically quit and said fuck you to NASL and to the fans. So I guess I'm a crazy self entitled idiot because I want a player to do what he is fucking paid to do and not be a little baby about it.... I don't expect all players to be robots and GG all the time(Though realistically they are supposed to be professionals and probably should anyway....). but you're invited to do a show match, at least try and show some resemblance of respect, if not to Alive at least to NASL who picked you out of hundreds of players who would love the chance to play those games.
I think you're getting trolled

Nice! Hopefully he can learn that his immaturity isn't worth a free $100.
IMO he already knew he couldn't recover from a 0-2 deficit vs Code S calibre, let alone an 0-3.

Jesus, read TEXT neanderthal. If someone tilts they WONT PLAY THEIR BEST. I wish some people would have the fucking ability to think logically. Dude. Some players tilt.. and you know what? They won't play their best. So you can't just say they should have done this or that. And if you do, you are a friggin robot. "Try something with a resemblence of respect". Look at that sentence. Couldn't you point out what he should have done like other knowitalls ... no ofcourse not ... cuz you dont know. And damn. Why are you trying to skew what i said. I don't understand why we get all the uproar. If a player doesnt play as expected, or as good as we wanted, we can't complain..... and GOD FORBID they show some negative emotion.
EDIT: fuck it, I am prolly getting trolled, but I am too drunk to understand it. If so props to you mr troll

I didn't even see the match, but I'm pretty sure that it happened the exact same shit like from about a year. He is paied exactly to stir up this kind of drama... and most likely it's way more than this prizepool, so he probably doesn't even care that much about losing. People keep giving him attention and so EG is fine with that.
You won't see a player who makes up more money from sponsorships, salary and advertisements than actual tournaments results change his attitude for some bucks (with all of my respect for these bucks, being clear). He doesn't need them.
Invite a hungry player and then we'll see a real match instead of childish tantrums.

IdrA can basically be summarized as the progamer version of "10 MINS NO RUSH!!!" that's harsh, idra's had a tough 6 months or so... if the pieces we've heard of his personal life are true.i dislike idra's behaviour, but there's no doubting that he can be a great player when he wants to be. first and foremost i think he needs to start respecting his opponent... idra doesn't seem to give any respect, so he doesn't deserve any respect in return. you play the game for fun - giving your opponent a 'free win' and an awfully disappointing series on purpose is a disrespectful waste of time. at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if you win or lose - at least show some fight and people will respect you for it.
I have missed that. what is it that supposed to have happened?
