For E-sports to succeed, you need to support more than just Starcraft. Or else It's just Starcraft 2, not E-sports. That's a pretty good post. Also, love SSFIV, wish I wouldn't suck at it ![]()

After a single semi match, now there is SSF4. I did not plan to watch SSF4. It always seems like they trap us into watching games that we have no interest in watching. I have nothing against the game, but I do not want to watch it. There shouldn't be anything wrong with that.. There's a schedule right?

The game is being played at x1000 the speed of SC2, of course that is the only style of commentary that even works. The players are constantly reacting to each other so play-by-play is pretty much all you can expect.

Putting your opponents in positions where they have to guess which options they need to use to defend is how 100% of all fighting games are played. If defending in fighting games are 100% safe you'd never hit your opponent. The skill comes from execution and mind games. You might hit low 3 times in a row and on the 4th you hit high. Most characters that make you guess more have reduced health. So they may have to mix you up or catch you in a vortex 2 or 3 times when you only need to do 1 combo to do the same amount of damage with a character with less mix up options. Execution of mixups or combos have super strict timings. Some you need to execute with a 1/60 or 1/30 of a second window for button press. If you are off by 1/60 of a second you drop the combo. There's quite a lot involved in fighting games. It's pretty entertaining and there's as much to know about as SC2.
