The time has come for our FIRST EVER IGN Pro League Fight Club! This is a weekly king of the hill showmatch series. Basically, there will be a 1 vs. 1 best of 9 showmatch each and every week, where the winner will earn a $500 prize and a $100 bounty on their head. For example, if a player wins three weeks in a row they will have earned $1,500 and a $300 bounty. If a NEW challenger defeats him, they will earn $500 for the showmatch, take the $300 bounty home, and have a new $100 bounty placed on their head for each week that they win. (Similar to IPL Team Arena, but without the teams!)
When: Sunday, Nov 06 12:00am GMT (GMT+00:00) (we will also have a European re-broadcast as usual at Sunday, Nov 06 4:30pm GMT (GMT+00:00))

This should be interesting. Sheth has been considered one of the strongest zvps in the foriegn scene, but I feel that his style is a little behind the times. He seems often to win in spite of, instead of because of his composition and tech choices. White-ra, on the other hand has looked stupidly good against zerg., It should be Whitera's match, but it will most definately test Sheth's style to the limit.

White-Ra is really good and seems to be in great form but Sheth's ZvP is meant to be on point. So this should really be an insane showmatch.

A fantastic idea, much like the Team Arena too! Best of 9 is crazy, but I love it. I've always thought they should up the best of series to prove better players, especially a more gradual build up on pressure when you're in a lead, and mental endurance etc. Part of what individual sports are about.
It's like a battle of who will be the nicest player! lol

Yeah that's a good point. They both expanded super-quickly anyway though, and White-Ra just wasn't macro-ing well anyway, which cost him the game.
Sheth has been playing really risky though... been playing super greedy and not really having any tech. White-Ra has been pretty much deciding whether to lose or win the games, in my opinion.

Haven't watched many of his game recently, but I do know he has been playing sloppy.
A bad run of form perhaps? Or just not sure how to play certain match-ups anymore? This series looks real bad for White-Ra in terms of play-style as he seems to be making it up as he goes along. If it works, it works, but I don't think it's in anyway a reliable play-style. It's just White-Ra's ability to make up stuff on the fly that may or not work.

This series definitely looks like that.
Game five: White-Ra cannon blocks Sheth's natural. Sheth expands elsewhere, suicides units into the cannons, and forgets to make defense and dies to White-Ra's standard million-gateway march.

Agreed. That totally saved him.
Game 6: Baneling bust fails because of a single clutch forcefield which allows White-Ra to buff his defense and forces Sheth to pull back after losing a lot of his slings/ blings. Then White-Ra masses gates and steamrolls Sheth with stalkers.
3-3. It now essentially goes from being a Bo9 to being a Bo3

Game 7: White-Ra fast expands but doesn't wall-off properly so speedlings kill all his probes and he loses.
I find it really sad that I can sum up a game in one line x.x

Game 7: White-Ra pushes early to snipe a hatchery, then overextends himself and falls into a large deficit and never gets a third... then he pushes one more time and almost wins because Sheth still never makes units or techs, so Sheth uses (and loses) 30+ drones but stops White-Ra. Ultimately, Sheth has more income so he outmasses White-Ra and wins the game. Very chaotic final game, but very poor decision making by both players
Final score: 5-3 Sheth

Crazy game. Drones and queens helped him push the 8gate back across the whole map.

I like IPL's strategy. They make all these little events and stuff like team arena, fight club, make their qualifiers interesting, all so you never "forget" IPL. Props to them for making lots of awesome stuff.

Good point. I wouldnt say MC is Ryung's kryptonite, but it would certainly be a bo9 I would watch. Basically the point I was trying to make is that Ryung is a solid player and a TvT specialist, and it would be hard for most foreigners to beat him since a bo9 essentially removes the luck variable. Hell, even most Koreans would have trouble.
