Hey Folks,

so here were go with the second qualifier for the Battle in Berlin - 2011 tournament! We will start Sunday, Oct 30 5:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) It is 6 PM local time! The second Qualifier will be held on B.Net EU, but the casting will be done at an offline location! Also external observing will be provided by 'TBO' ! (It was quite successful the first time)

(P)Grubby was the player who was able to win over (Z)Osho in the finals for the first Qualifier showing some really impressive and resilient gameplay. Who will be the last one going to Berlin?

Signing up for the qualifier can everybody who is a GM on the EU, NA, KR servers. In some special cases Master League players are also allowed (for example dropping out of GM because of vacation etc.). Simply go to this link. Sign ups are only allowed up to 24 hours before the event starts. Players outside of the European Union or with a need for a visa in general need to make sure, to be able to get a visa in time.

We will have better Audio + Video equipment on site to improve the live experience even more. Also don't forget about ROCCAT raffles we did in the last qualifier and the for the next one to win stuff at the event and online as well.

The Winner will get a slot for the 10.000$ Battle in Berlin tournament and a 100$ prize. Keep in mind that placing 5th-8th in the main event will be an additional 375$ for the player. However travel and hotel costs etc. need to be payed by the player/team/sponsors.

The Cast will be held at an offline location in Berlin - the CK-99 >>> FREE ENTRY <<<. It is not going to be the same venue as where the the main event will be held, but the first and the second qualifier will be casted from. So if you are in Berlin at Sunday, Oct 30 4:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) make sure to come over. There will be giveaways to the audience, online raffles to win hardware, HD passes and much much more! Here are some pictures:

It means, that the commentary and the ingame observing will not be done by the same person.

For the Qualifier #1 + #2 I will do the casting and TBO is going to do the observing.

This is mainly common on the GSL in Korea and is done to improve the overall spectator experience

Uncredible how much effort you put into this tourney.

Really impressive lineup! Except for (Z)DIMAGA and internationals like (T)ThorZaIN or (P)NaNiwa you pretty much attracted Europe's absolute best. And this qualifier is pretty stuck-up too, it's a shame that only one guy advances. Hope it'll be either (P)MaNa or (Z)Ret.

There were so much DefWin during the first round that I am suspecting very bad admins corps behind that. Quite disappointing.

PS : How could MaNa vs Phoenix be a DefWin for MaNa ><

Has anyone an idea what happened to HasuObs? Going 2:0 against Paranoid in Round 1, but Paranoid advances?

Was looking forward to see him at the main event. But fortunately Mana is still holding the protoss-flag up...

I can only guess that there was a conflict with the other tournament Hasu played. (Hear to win cup)

Like Rotterdam said during go4c2: He is one of the most underrated in players in europe. He showed that he can pull some really nice games off.
I really hope MaNa willt ake this, but it will be very hard as his PvZ kinda sucks compared to his pvT. But regardless of who advances, the BiB will be a fight of Europes elite imho. I cant think of any player missing there, they are all awesome.

Edit: Oh MaNa, sentry and one colossus for free and no cannon in the mineral line, why? q.q

ret is always ahead in supply, even though Mana's army-composition was so much better at the beginnig of the fight - I don't get it

after watching many hours of all the top zergs i feel that in zvp ret tends to oversaturate his bases in the beginning which leads to him not having good timings with roach ling in the midgame to deny protoss 3rd bases for example

Ahh that was such a sick build, plan, and execution from Ret! But MaNa really shouldn't have allowed those ling runbys, despite how brilliantly he defended the first one, he couldn't avoid losing the templar archives that second time, and that was the game.

He gave a freewin to ParanOid because he will be in Paris 1 day before the Battle in Berlin main event and did not want to have so much trouble travelling.
