Hey guys - These games are meant to be fun and for your entertainment. Caster and Player bashing will not be tolerated. Manner please!
Also, this is a Live Report thread - not the place to discuss your displeasure with the event or any of the people involved with it. |

I should remember it as something other than what it was ? I guess your a bit sensitive about lag complaints.

Lets split hairs...

Just wondering, a live report thread is supposed to cover the whole event (during a certain day), isn't it? So why should it be forbidden to discuss displease with the event (including people inside of it)? If a live report thread was only suppose to cover the games itself, then it should also be forbidden to discuss ceremonies outside of the games. I mean, I understand the need to keep the complaining in check, else it'll end up in mindless flames as soon as a handfull of people have found themselves to push each other on, just the reason is kind of unsound to me.
|
Will there be a rebroadcast of the grand final for us Europeans? Zero chance to stay up and watch it live, would've left me with only a few hours sleep before going to work.
Sounds like the games were awesome but I'm starting to have a bad feeling that I'll never see them.

No, it's supposed to cover the games. 'Displeasure' is for the criticisms thread
And I agree with the guy above me Didn't get a chance to see most of the best games or the finals

Are the finals worth seeing ?

Then you have your internet to blame because I watched it in all its awesomeness on the free 360p stream without any lag at all. I feel sorry for you bro if you didn't enjoy it because it was definitely one of the better series of starcraft 2 to date.

I'm tempted to get mad at my internet, but I was playing 3v3s in between NASL games, with no lag. 240p for me, and still bordering on unwatchable. Very frustrating.

Watching those games kinda felt like mc had no idea how to handle that many ghosts. Ghosts counter almost every unit protoss has except stalkers, void rays, and collosus, and mc didn't really have many of those when engaging. I think it's interesting mc was using a different style, but the combo emp + stim + concussive shells + medivacs means that once terran decides to engage, protoss has to engage, or lose everything while retreating.
I hope mc can find a new playstyle to match puma's or else puma's style is going to become standard. We saw hints of it in the TSL finals too.

As a European who usually got lag from justin.tv so bad that NASL regular season was unwatchable at any resolution, (whilst streams like destiny or idra were always fine) I must say the entire weekend was lag free even at 1080. It was fantastic event and unbelievable championship match. Whatever change NASL or J.tv made certainly worked and made the event a success. I'd even say my $25 was well spent even just for the weekend had they not been selling weekend passes for $10.

Did you not watch the matches? every game MC won, he handled the ghosts perfectly...

I used to have 3g internet only with which i could easily play both 3v3 and 4v4. But i couldn't stream anything even in 240p. So that means nothing really...

Well it means something. I wish I knew what, so I could watch great SC2 games without the strobe light. There definitely seems to be a correlation between the # of viewers and the stream quality.

You also forget that it is hard to place 1st in the Open Tournament. Especially with all the Koreans that play. You can't really call that "bashing some NA master league players." The Open Tournament will stay just as strong, at least until all the top Koreans make it into the league, but the Grand Finals will also get stronger (which probably means less foreigners).
I honestly think that it is harder to be constantly good over a long period of time than to run through an open bracket in a few hours of playtime with little to no mindgames and almost no preperation for the enemy.
So yea, I feel for Ret.

Were you on the free or premium service? I was on 720p and didn't get a single moment of stutter or lag through the whole of Day3.
