Did anyone record the live peformance by Temp0 and Anna? The first one in particular, really good.

This Series was at least as epic as MC vs ThorZain in TSL! Awesome Templar/Ghost microbattles definitely a must-see!!

My thoughts exactly. congrats to puma for his fantastic win and congrats NASL for making all this possible. still, it doesn't quite feel right that a player not playing in the league took it all. it seems even a bit unfair as it was not possible for the league players to study his style

First of all, big thumbs up to Puma for winning this shizzle.
I think that most people's problem with him winning is, they weren't as invested in him as they were for the players from the league-stages, we got to know Puma at the finals, whereas the other players we knew from the start (=14 weeks ago?). So if you are invested in players like MC, Ret, July, it's sad to see them lose to a relative newcomer and not so 'famous' player like Puma.

I do recall facepalming when the open bracket thingee was announced. Maybe it was announced from the very start, i don't know. But as soon as i heard there was gonna be an open tournament near the end of the regular season thing i just groaned. Very silly.

So the grandfinals were pretty much a "one weekend starcraft 2 event", only related to the NASL due to the fact that the best NASL players would be automatically in it and some had to qualify through the open bracket.
Sounds like MLG to me lol... PuMa is not the winner of the NASL, he is the winner of this particular event.
For the next events, you can play 6 weeks pretty much every good player in the league, or just wait for the next open tournament, bash some NA master league players and then be in the grand finals and take a shot at the cash..
Weird system, but as long as it creates epic games I'm ok with it. S* for the players though.

I've got a feeling that NASL is sort of like a family, and they won't get rid of Gretorp. They had the 2 best SC2 commentators in the world at NASL (artosis/tasteless), the logical thing would have been to use them for as many games as possible, but it seems like they wanted to "give everyone a go".

IMO, the first season is really the only season PuMa could get away with this. Don't get me wrong, I'm not detracting from him as a player (he was the best at the grand finals), but due to the way invites worked for the first season of NASL, the player pool wasn't as strong as it will be in season 2 or in subsequent seasons.
You also forget that it is hard to place 1st in the Open Tournament. Especially with all the Koreans that play. You can't really call that "bashing some NA master league players." The Open Tournament will stay just as strong, at least until all the top Koreans make it into the league, but the Grand Finals will also get stronger (which probably means less foreigners).
All in all, I think the Open Tournament winner taking the entire event is an anomaly that had a good chance of happening this season, but will probably never happen again.

Yeah, it starts around the 18 minute mark in this VOD: http://www.justin.tv/naslseasonone/b/289907480
You need the season pass I believe.

Not THAT hard, since the only Koreans in the Open Tournament were a bunch of guys from TSL and Check. The rest were a lot of guys from NA server and a few Europeans. Season 2 Qualifier tournament had tougher competition and more Koreans.

any feedback from korean people of the event ? it would be interesting to read.

I dont want to sound bitter, but I really feel for ret placing first in the league only to hit the eventual winner by virtue of him winning the open bracket =/. I know there wasn't really anyway around this but still, really sucks for him.

Ret really did get the short end of the stick. Really unfortunate considering how large the disparency was from 1st place winnings to Ro16 winnings. The final games and the Sen, MC semi finals were trully epic series in all their glory.

Hey guys, does anyone know how many viewers the finals peaked at on the live stream? I saw day 1-2 were around 40k but did it get any higher on Day 3?
