I cant watch sunday games because im in EU and i work at 6am, when the NASL ends! XD Im glad i didnt sit up for the beginning of this, what happened to incontrol? the guy is epic.
Gretorp has nothing going for him other then his relationship / banter with Incontrol and Gretorp with this guy (who is he??) is just dry as a digestive biscuit, srsly. I would pay money for any humour or excitement right now, oh wait, this all happened yesterday!
NASL needs to have Incontrol as a constant commentator, or find a viable replacement, or to do better, replace gretorp, sorry but the guys not cut out for it in my opinion, I dont enjoy his commentating.

The casters need to show that they are actually alive, somehow. They make boring games seem even more boring. I'm falling asleep over here. I don't want to insult anyone, but they must realize their cast is utterly exhausting.
For a serious tournament with so much cash on the line, they *should* be able to afford someone more entertaining - to at least mix up with one of the humdrum casters. Just think about it, *please*.

Watching Gretorp and Xeris cast together is kind of like watching a trainwreck, only both trains are filled with Gilbert Gottfried and Dane Cook clones, and also on fire before they crash.
Close this out Zenio.

My goodness, not even salvaging the bunker...

Sorry, I get the guy is great and all and deserve respect but I don't get statements like this. We'd still watch basketball if there was no Michael Jordan and we'd still watch baseball if there was no Babe Ruth. Especially at this point when western e-sports are starting down their own path separate from Korean with plenty of fans that never followed BW/Korean E-Sports scene. And whether it is right or wrong to not "gg" (I could personally care less) I can't believe how worked up and personally offended so many people are. Pretty funny, if I were Idra I'd never GG again just to troll everyone on TL for the rest of time and laugh when every time I didn't do it there were 30 pages instantly about "gg" If you really think basketball or starcraft would be as popular as they are without Jordan or boxer, you have no idea about the history of the game. Jordan is almost solely the reason basketball became a global phenomenon, and boxer is why starcraft was a cultural phenomenon in Korea. When the Bad Boy Pistons walked off the court with 30 seconds left and no shaking hands, after being swept by the Bulls, they were pilloried. It looks pathetic. Just like Idra never admitting he loses to a better player, or when Idra leaves when hes ahead. What do people like about this guy? Or is it just people on the internet like him because so many people online are passive aggressive little piss ants, so they like seeing someone just like them? Looking forward to Idra being knocked out of this tourney, hopefully.
IdrA's position in Western eSports, while different from Boxer's in Korean eSports, nonetheless serves a similar function. The number of viewers (be they fans or anti-fans) he brings in to SC 2 is tremendous, and the irony is that most of them are here primarily for the drama, which might explain why IdrA keeps doing what he does - to draw in more drama.
And I think the point the person you quoted is making is that Boxer, while a significant figure for eSports, is not responsible for it. There were eSports tournaments before Boxer and there would have been eSports tournaments without Boxer. Certainly, it would be difficult to convince the fans of other (ie non-Starcraft) games that Boxer was responsible for their sport, when they have their own celebrities to rally around.
As for IdrA - "Starcraft needs a villain." IdrA built his reputation around sticking it to authority and etiquette, and many if not most of his fans like him for precisely the fact that he doesn't give a fuck who it is - he'll still do what he feels like.

Justin TV is awfully laggy isn't it?

NASL should hire professional casters?
amitbl said: How about this for a suggestion:
Instead of "hiring" random casters at a ridiculously low pay (if they even get payed at all) - which honestly makes those casters who agree to take the gig amateurs at best - why not offer respectable money for seriously awesome casters who are just aching to make a living off of doing this professionally? Casters like djWHEAT (which to be offered a permanent casting job at good pay would be a dream come true for him and the community that supports him) , day[9], tasteless (maybe that'll get him to come back home?), totalBiscuit, HDstarcraft, Husky and many many more - these actually declare that they wish to dedicate their life to advance eSports, particularly by casting.
I know that its not that simple. The casters may need to reside close to the studio, but i believe that with a reasonable pay grade and some creative thinking that could easily be solved.
NASL - picking casters like Gretorp, INControl, and other random guest "casters" (most were NOT CASTERS) makes you look and feel unprofessional and at times even silly.
Don't get me wrong. I like Gretorp, he's an awesome player and I respect his knowledge and analysis. But he does not have real casting experience. I LOVE INControl. He's just awesome in every way imaginable. But he's PARTICIPATING AS A PLAYER in the league! That makes his analysis and casting possibly biased. Even though Gretorp and INControl made a joke out of the issue, and even though INControl usually didn't cast the days his division games were aired, this is still a really problematic issue that hasn't really been addressed.
I am grateful that NASL kicked off eSports in NA (and the whole world tbh) into the realm of viable professions. They took eSports a huge step in the right direction. That being said, I still believe they have ALOT of room for improvement - and carefully picking their casters is #1 on that list.
what do you think of this?

Why do they keep going 'Nice storm's after he uses like 5 storms and hits basically nothing
