SC2 may have all the money in esports right now, but it has such a long way to go as a competitive title. You can see how much more mature WC3 is in comparison--though obviously maturity should be expected from a dying game. Well, you have to take into concideration that a) you arent used to see highlvl wc3 as often anymore, therefore you are more excited and happy b) Wc3 is much more developed then sc2 is currently, its just like with BW, BW games are for some people more exciting as well. Yes, you're 100% correct. We're making the same point though. SC2 is obviously, obviously underdeveloped compared to BW, but watching WC3 again was also an eye-opening reminder that, even though SC2 is full of money, it's also underdeveloped compared to many other games, WC3 included. The casting of WC 3 helps a lot. Apollo is an excellent WC 3 caster - the Tastosis or Day9 of WC 3, if you will, and he drops knowledge bombs like no tomorrow that make you appreciate the game. If it wasn't Apollo casting people would probably be like "wtf is going on on my screen? gg what?" Rotterdam, not Apollo Apollo comes from C&C
Haha, right, don't know why I said Apollo.

Yeah by my calculation since his korean, you should at least times his odd by 100

Remember WCG 2011
next year the Koreans will bring the guns to the knife fight for SC2. I hope the current crop of pros in Sc2 and foreigners can handle the siege that will take place next year.

They think that the edge that Koreans have in SC 2 is so insurmountable that if they send 3 players to a tournament they'll get top 3. That's not the case, and this WCG just showed it. I'd agree with you if these players were Killer, Fruitdealer, and TOP. These are top terrans, on a top tier even by GSL standards. It's not just random Code A terrans. Completely disagree with the assertion that Supernova and MKP are top Terrans. They can be frightening on their best days, but are horribly inconsistent. Mvp is a top Terran and he will still probably win the tournament. They are very inconsistent but are clearly Top 10 KR terrans, and it's common knowledge KR terrans > All. They aren't the very top terrans, but are certainly amongst the top.

there were 56 players in this tournament and only three koreans, each of them made at least round of 8, regardless of what happens in the rest of the tournament that stat tells the story.

Kind of proud as a European how the tournament went, you might say europe had the most participants, but most of them arent worth mentioning at all. Topplayers from each region are missing and europe does well. gj! Top contenders all around were missing, but the chinese have been stomping more than the europeans overall. Oh thats certainly true. Im still quite proud And yeah, im kind of used to see China AND Korea in another world/league from wc3 back then, so it doesnt surprise me at all - especially when we see Sky/Infi/Fly/TH000 making the switch. MacSed for example was a midlvl chinese human compared to the other chinese players... prolly rank 10 in china. and hes pretty damn good already It depends on where the money goes after this WCG. If WC3 is not a WCG game beyond this year, then yes the whole structure would shifte in China. It also depends how XiGua does in Semis. Pj was never a big draw at home, let's see if the up and coming XiGua can draw. If you think China won't hold a War3 tournament during the WCG (even if it's not an official WCG game next year) when the next two WCGs are held in China ... hahaha.
I think the Chinese WC 3 players will want revenge after losing two WC 3 WCGs to Koreans. This is not normal for Chinese WC 3, though this year Lyn just barely edged it out.
Then again, WCG doesn't make decisions just based on where it's held, either, or else there'd be Dota in every WCG held in China.

I would say that MMA Lee knock, would have handled this field better thatn MKP and Supernova. Just that MMA and LeeNock didn't play their best during qualifiers.. So i am disappointed in MMA and Leenock for not qualifying for WCG. I mean 20,000 dollars is not chump change.. it's worth fighting for.

Thorzain just needs to get back into the SlayerS house. With EG (read: Idra and Huk) there, he'll be the sharpest spoon in the world.

Also, why doesn't Kas try for GSL? Man needs to go to Korea, he's got talent.

I cry about caster neutrality because those casters cast for a wide and diverse array of people, which is why player bias is so disturbing. If I'm watching Chilean national football team on Chilean national channels, I expect the casters to be mindblowingly biased towards Chile, if I'm watching Barcelona vs Manchester United on ESPN I expect casters to be neutral, since they're on cable TV casting for a wide audience.

Hmm, if MVP somehow loses to Kas, I see XiGua taking the entire thing..

Based on his results for the past 2 months, 2 months and a half, I consider SuperNoVa a top 5 Terran, especially considering he is solid in all 3 match ups.

I love China's enthusiasm for War3. Hopefully I'll get the chance to see a tournament live there in the future before it completely dies out.
