I'll just leave this here about Polt:

Losses to Kas and Nerchio this month. And this...

http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/sc2-korean/players/1856_Polt/games

Lots of losses on that page.

I know Polt is a great player, but this is a game of streaks. He is not on a good one.

Let's not pull out online cups as definite proof.

I know, I'm not saying it's definite proof of anything. Just saying what happened.

i don't know how MKP didn't bring his A game. 20,000 dollars are on the line... geeze...
Kas came up to play. I think MVP will take it decidedly.

Yeah I like starcraft 2 but I also liked brood war a lot they are different games. In some ways brood war is still the better game and it was pretty awesome to watch jaedong or bisu play and watch them stomp foreigners.

Honestly, the Lyn vs Sky series was so much better than the SC2 games I've seen today and almost all week. SC2 may have all the money in esports right now, but it has such a long way to go as a competitive title. You can see how much more mature WC3 is in comparison--though obviously maturity should be expected from a dying game.

Well, you have to take into concideration that
a) you arent used to see highlvl wc3 as often anymore, therefore you are more excited and happy
b) Wc3 is much more developed then sc2 is currently, its just like with BW, BW games are for some people more exciting as well.

Yes, you're 100% correct. We're making the same point though.

SC2 is obviously, obviously underdeveloped compared to BW, but watching WC3 again was also an eye-opening reminder that, even though SC2 is full of money, it's also underdeveloped compared to many other games, WC3 included.

One of the big issues nowadays with War3 unfortunately is that it's so developed that we hardly see much innovation coming out of the scene anymore. Obviously that's to be expected with such an old game, but it's a bit of a shame to see the metagame stagnate.

lol day9 casting huk is the most biased thing in the world. maybe day9 casting select could beat that. close though.

Yup. I was thinking about DreamHuK when I first red that comment. ^^

There is only 25% of MVP winning gold. If he does not, then this will be the first WCG that a Korean does not get gold in Starcraft.
I'm so excited.

Wow I just woke up and looked at the results...I'm not gonna say foreigners are on the same level as koreans, but atleast we are not embarassing ourselves anymore. These guys in the WCG are heroes.

ye, but thats all online. You can probably list 100 great results of Kas online, but almost none offline. Thats why im happy he finally shows he can also deliver offline.

Everyone calm down. Michael Jordon didn't have an 100% win record. Tiger Woods lost rarely, even in his prime. The same can be said about ever great athlete. It's not possible to bring your A-Game every match or event. Calm down lol..

Well. MKP was playing like crap all tournament long.

Sad to see KR fail so hard

With only 3 representatives...... it's hard for them to win it all. KR needed like 6 or 7 ppl representing

These KR are top level, they are way beyond the competition, and certainly way beyond the people they lost to, maybe excepting Kas. Losing like this is a failure.

especially since its in korea, not like most other confrontations between korea and foreigners.

I think people are treating SC 2 like BW still. They think that the edge that Koreans have in SC 2 is so insurmountable that if they send 3 players to a tournament they'll get top 3. That's not the case, and this WCG just showed it.

I'd agree with you if these players were Killer, Fruitdealer, and TOP. These are top terrans, on a top tier even by GSL standards. It's not just random Code A terrans.

Completely disagree with the assertion that Supernova and MKP are top Terrans. They can be frightening on their best days, but are horribly inconsistent. Mvp is a top Terran and he will still probably win the tournament.

The casting of WC 3 helps a lot. Apollo is an excellent WC 3 caster - the Tastosis or Day9 of WC 3, if you will, and he drops knowledge bombs like no tomorrow that make you appreciate the game. If it wasn't Apollo casting people would probably be like "wtf is going on on my screen? gg what?"
