I think it's a little odd to see Tyler like this, though I didn't follow him in BW so maybe this isn't surprising to those who have watched him for longer. I guess if it's a cannon rush or something and he doesn't gg I don't see it as a big deal since he is a fierce competitor as others have mentioned, but honestly socke is one of the better pvp players out there so I think its a little odd to not see gg, since its seen as a respectful gesture most of the time. I also found Tyler's lack of gg's it a bit perplexing in the sense that he was very recently defending the state of PvP during the last SotG episode and arguing that PvP alone was not reason enough to warrant a patch by Blizzard. So if his lack of gg's came from frustration in the actual matchup, then that would seem quite contrary to what he was defending less than a week ago. Though I suppose he could have simply been dissapointed in his own play. But I feel like if you accept that the reason you lost is due simply to your own mistakes and no other factors then you really owe it to your opponent to gg since he was the better player that day. I mean usually when someone like Idra doesn't gg it's because he feels a certain tactic or matchup is beneath him or something and that it wasn't his own fault that he lost. Now whether he's right about that or not is another matter, but I think not gg'ing for that type of reason is more excusable than not performing up to your own standards. Either way though it's obviously not a huge deal or anything not to gg, as long as you are not purposefully disrespecting your opponent, which I doubt Tyler was in these games.

Tyler, like any other serious competitor, never loses gracefully. He's always bitter and really upset with his losses. It comes from his sense of entitlement from SC1 where was "good," but now that the playing field is even in SC2 he is nothing special, and it seems to really get to him, because he honestly believes he is the better player, but his results throughout all of SC2 would suggest otherwise. Don't take this as me badmouthing or hating on Tyler, it's the truth, and I happen to be a huge fan of his having listened to SotG since the first episode.

It's not as though he's telling his opponent to F^ck off between matches, or saying that 4gating "takes no brains". It's not good-mannered by any stretch, but I think it's just a matter of him being really frustrated with himself. I see the "gg" like the handshake after a football or basketball game - you don't see fans going apeshit if Dwayne Wade or Kobe doesn't shake all the players hands afterward. "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." I see the gg as exactly that as well, the handshake in other sports. But your two examples are from team games, a more appropriate comparison would be individual competitions like Tennis or Table Tennis. Not shaking your opponents hand after the game would be considered incredibly rude and quite frankly, unthinkable on the professional level of play in those. I'm a bit disappointed in Tyler's manner that he did not gg twice, frustrated or not. However, Socke and him know each other so I'm sure there was some friendly chat in private after the games (or at a later point) to even this "bad manner" out.

About 4 to 5 months ago he did extremely well at an MLG, and beat a lot of great players.

You dont need to defend yourself to accusations in the threads. And if you're going to then make sure you're not puting stuff on other people! Refering to other people like that aint going to make people comfortable and confident in YOU, wich is what you want people to be when you're a caster. Dont give your sources of information, instead speak your opinions and stay grounded. Refain from speculating as well as trying to be impressive and showing off your knowledge. Going into details and tricks often leave stuff open for speculations wich is going to really hurt you as a caster as people are going to have different opinions on these subjects and what you do not want to do is geting into a argument with 20% of the audience over some stupid detail. That should be the cardinal rule, do not let people get into argumentations with you as a caster! Stay as grounded as possible and try to enchance the experience for the audience instead of trying to prove yourself worthy as their host. Good luck!

It's way better then normal polls because of fanboyism and sometimes it's spoiled the results (especially when there are zergs involveld). So big thanks to motbob! <3 But one thing: It would be great if the recommended games wouldn't be spoiled if there is a 3rd series. ![]()

On a personal level I agree, I think it would be better to just introduce each match just before it's played or even, like GSL, a little before the match and a little during the first few minutes of the match. But as NASL is recorded before the broadcast, I guess it's more convenient for them to just talk about the match in a big segment then just show all the matches one after another. Perhaps when the staff will be more comfortable with the schedule, the video editing and all, they'll just cut the 30mn talk into 5 segments and edit the video afterwards ? I agree it would be better.
