GSL could have so many more viewers if they would have some kind of break beetween tournaments.
I mean the world cup wouldnt be the world cup if it was played every month. The thing that makes it special is that the one who wins trully is the best for the next 4 years.
People can only take so much of one thing, breaks are needed, just look at any major sport.

I think many of these games went the same way as MKP vs Jinro/Nada at first. MKP was getting owned in some of those games, too, but then he did a super drop in the back of their bases and managed to turn it around. However, MVP never gave MKP the chance to do a drop, because he was always one step ahead of him. Everywhere MKP went, mvp already had tanks sieged and marines ready.

wow now I understand how one player can be better than another. They don't necessarily have faster hands or better mechanics. They just play smarter.

Yeah, I think the next GSL should be in 8-10 years.
I honestly can't understand people crying about too many games.

except GSL isnt supposed to be 'THE MAIN' tournament. When SC2 is included into the WCG, then we're talking.
|
Wow, these results were a surprise lol..

Well, right now GSL seems to be the main engine in the SC2 pro scene. (providing them with income and quality opponents)
There need to be something of the sorts at the bottom to build from, then you can start with rarer and more special tournaments. (though isn't GSL having one of those eventually? every 6 months or so, think I remember something about that)
So complaining about too short pauses between seasons, well that's kinda weird for me. Just watch from the quarters/semi's then, or grab the recommended games. The more games the merrier is my opinion
It's not like we have a ton of champions yet either. I would say the GSL trophy hangs pretty high still.

The players in the world cup have teams and leagues to go back to between breaks. When the world cup isn't happening I can go watch the premier league and stuff. Not much high level games you can watch besides GSL. Some players kind of need the income too.

Damn, MVP played so smartly. I wish MKP won, but MVP honestly played brilliantly.

The games went as expected, easy win for MVP.
What interests me is how come there were so many ppl at the stadium? I was under the impression that GSL is losing its popularity...

Honestly, MVP just has so much sheer skill, I gotta think there was nothing MKP could have done to combat it. It was just a steamroll, no if ands or buts about it. I dont see much room for speculation. It is what it is.

Tasteless and Artosis are what keep me interested in watching at the moment. With them casting, I'd even watch Code A/B Up and Down matches.
Less games? No way! It's way too much fun.

Well there isn't any GomTV stuff until Feb 7-10 so that gives you about 10 days of no GomTV stuff and even then it is team league.
Then we get Feb 14-Mar 12 for GSL March
April looks to be another team league
May is a Ro64 tournament like the Opens were.

people on these forums have been spelling doom for SC2 since launch. can be kinda depressing sometimes, and if people shout the same thing for long enough, eventually some people believe it, especially if no one stands up to the contrary.

I was actually basing it on the amount of ppl that were showing up for games (like the opening ceremony of GSL4). Even though Artosis & Co tried to rationalise I just felt that it was wishful thinking.
Maybe so many ppl showed up because it was the grand final and not because the game is gaining in popularity?

No people compare SC2 to BW which is an established sport. No idea why they try to do this But watching the OSL, it was really exciting how many people they had turn up. I just felt bad that mother speeches aside,
+ Show Spoiler +the Fantasy-Stork game was as one sided and lasted about as long as the 4-0.
Next time!

i would love to see mvp vs jinro, mvp would probably win but im curious if jinro's play style would match up better against mvp. I would also like to see Mc vs mvp.
|
is there somewhere that people have all of the up and down matches summarized? im curious to who exactly is in code S now and who all is in code A.
