Man MarineKingPrime.WE really chocked during those finals imo. During the games vs JinrO he was everywere, banshees and dropping everywere all over the place. He did such great godamn skirmishes everywere picking stuff out. During the finals he just went around with units dying with them... really sad finals due this, really hoped for a grand finals where both players played at their best and there was some real OMFG moments. The only moments that were plenty during these finals were "*facepalm* noooo marineking dont do it! You're only ruining your own game!"

This discussion about "Jinros games against MVP would have been more interesting" is pretty senseless, because MKP beat Jinro right before 3:1 quite convincingly.
His TvT is not bad in any way, but MVP is just better.

I wonder what made MKP play like this... does Mvp own him that hard @ ladder when he's playing his usual style that he needed to switch it up? It was the same during the finals vs Nestea. Pretty disappointing finals, hope someone can challenge Mvp soon, otherwise he might have a long run of victories (which I don't wish to happen yet).

Just watched the VODs, and I feel really bad for MK. It was one of those days where nothing you try worked out but credit where its due to MVP, he looked absolutely godly today. If he can keep to the sort of standard he's shown this GSL he's going to become SC2's equivalent of Flash.

Man, what happened? This has two-thirds the size of the OSL thread. The previous finals were huge, even though season 3 was as one-sided.

People keep saying that prize money doesn't matter, but it seems like hype for this season has been considerably lower. Is it the tournament structure or the time or what?

Though I guess since it's a monthly thing it's natural for it drop off a bit relative to twice-a-year (?) starleagues.

so sad that i skipped live streaming due to time differences and then accidentally saw spoilers in comments before i even clicked on 1st game to start, gom should really hide those comments in VODS and make something like spoiler like here on forum, its stupid to have hide comment button instead of show comments. IMmvp really deserved it, he will be so though to anyone he faces in next round of gsl

To be honest while I love it monthly, I've kinda started watching fewer and fewer games of each season. I used to watch every single match, but now I've developed favorite players I generally just watch those and check out the results for the rest on TL and watch the ones that come highly recommended. I think that while monthly is great it also lacks the anticipation building.

To be honest the finals mostly felt lackluster to me because you are the winner, but it doesn't really seem like an achievement, I mean in like a week you're already back fighting to keep your prize.

As much as I love the GSL, I kind of wish they'd make me wait a bit more so that the finals actually seem like some epic accomplishment rather than just another 4th Saturday in a month.

I think something that could be nice is to have the Code A and Code S tournaments separate, so there is a bigger break between Code S tournaments. In a few months, or a years time, Code A should be pretty entertaining as the level of play increases and it could likely stand on its own. Or more of these Team Leagues or something else that would make winning the GSL actually seem like something amazing.

I also do think that the TvT kinda toned down the excitement for this GSL. First two GSL's had the "omg underpowered" Zerg in them which built excitement, then the third had MC who was fighting to be the first Protoss when all others had been crushed. TvT just isn't that exciting to me honest, so many Terran's play, so many end up being TvT's, especially in the finals.

I only had 3 hours of sleep, managed to crawl out of bed an hour after my alarm clock to go check up on the GomTV stream only to find that MVP was up 3:0, I knew it was a one-sided series and that it was going to end so I just went back to sleep.

I'll check sc2rep thou if I missed some good games.

Thing is, MVP is much more aggressive than other players, that is most likely makes MKP uncomfortable and not being able to play his game.

Usually players prepare for MKP aggression, but MVP decided otherwise.

Just saw all the games and MVP is just a class above the rest. His scout on metalopolis and tank positioning were great, and I love how he so easily predicted any counter attacks.
