I mean the world cup wouldnt be the world cup if it was played every month. The thing that makes it special is that the one who wins trully is the best for the next 4 years.
People can only take so much of one thing, breaks are needed, just look at any major sport. Yeah, I think the next GSL should be in 8-10 years. I honestly can't understand people crying about too many games. WTH is your problem? No, we should have gom tournament every 24/7, 365 days in the year for the rest of eternity! Who would watch it? - Possibly only you. Yeah its getting boring as hell, if the World cup or European cup or the Olympic games were every month they would get boring as well. I think there should be 1 tournament per year that stretches for longer and lasts about 4 months with a small break in between. Similar to Champions League matches. And then you have a team league which goes every week from Friday to Sunday for 9 months. I would watch it. I mean, if you're bored by too many games...don't watch all the games? It's not like anyone is forcing you to watch, so what's the complaint? QTF - No one's forcing you to watch the game, however having a steady tournament with the highest level of competition is never bad.I'd much rather see 10 great games and 100 bad games every month than seeing only 5 great games every couple of months.

my 2 cents
These games were bored and we didnt see MKP shine as we usually do, i love his marine micro but mehhh, best matches were Idra Vs. Jinro and some of TSL_Clide matches
a shame that all the best matches were in the quarter finals

just doesn't work like that bro. such a horrible comparsion, world cup/soccer to GSL/sc2. a sport that has been around for like a century shouldn't be even close to being compared to a video game that has only been released for about half a year. you can't have long term tournaments like that. unlike athletes who get paid 7 figure salaries, progamers need tournament winnings to cover life expenses. short tournaments are the way to go. more games, more exposure, better for the progamers because imo there just isn't a big enough community out there. the idea of having GSL tournaments + long term leagues sounds nice, but you won't find many optimistic sponsors willing to inject that much money into a young game.
if anything, there should be more games happening more frequently. ugh a 9 month league? 4 month tournaments? i really love starcraft and all but the sc2 community is much too small and i imagine much of the casual gamers wouldn't want to watch games from a league lasting almost a year. i'd probably lose track of results and i'm far from a casual gamer. hell, with BW still standing strong in korea, i can't imagine this working at all.
