Though I guess since it's a monthly thing it's natural for it drop off a bit relative to twice-a-year (?) starleagues.
Previous finals went longer than 4-0. TvT.

This even wasn't fun to watch. Such one sided games. Although rape may be somewhat offensive it fits perfectly. I wasn't surprised with the result I'm just disappointed with the quality of the games. Why most of the finals of GSL are not as good as games in the rounds before it ? Maybe some kind of different seeding would be in order.
On the other note, wasn't this a pretty big crowd as far as GSL goes ? Especially after the opening ceremony fail, this looked very very promising.

O M G, 4-0 , ownaaageeeee

Talk about one sided finals omg....Congrats to MVP the first Terran champion of GSL. gg.

Very one sided. Not much to discuss really or comment. You pretty much just watch in awe. Closer games and longer games, and the post count would go up

I just saw the games. Couldn't watch them live because I had to sleep some after a long week. And I must say: "DAMN". IMMvp completely destroyed MKP. Perfect games from IMMvp, some sloppy games from MKP.
I think IMMvp will keep destroying Terrans and I can only pray some Protoss players can stop him off next season.

Oh man, I was wrong. A clean sweep? MVP is MVP.
|
Man, this was what people were talking about, good job MVP.
|
What is the song at the end? Something about "I wanna be the one.."
|
Seriously all i can say is WOW.
MVP hard counters MKP, insanely one sided. I think that perhaps Jinro or NaDa would have given MVP a better match as their styles aren't so easy to hard counter. All MVP did was build stuff, attack with it and leave enough at home to stop the inevitable counter..... I guess now MKP is gonna have a hard time next season as everyone will know how to beat him now.... attack him and wait for the counter.

MVP (Most Valuable Player) owns up to his name !
We have an old saying in arabic (translation) "Everyone gets a piece of his own name" , it was going through my mind when I saw the games.
Congratulations , totally deserved it.

Think it's true like they said, that once MC was knocked out, there was nobody left in this tournament who had a shot at taking out MVP. Can only hope for MVP vs MC next season.

[sarcasm]Yeah if you say so[/sarcasm]
MVP was just more intelligent about how to play the game.
For example in Metalopolis, Marineking built a bunker at the top of his ramp.
This is odd in different ways.
If you are going to fast expand you build a bunker at the bottom of your ramp. If you are going to build a large tier one army and push you don't need the bunker. If you are teching up you aren't MarinekingPrime.
By process of logical elimination MVP reacted accordingly checking for expansions at every possible location. If he didn't find any he could use a scan to get an idea of MKP's tech which can be held off by pure marines and marauders when you have enough skill because of the lower numbers of tech units you can get off of one base relative to infantry off of two.
If MarinekingPrime had built the bunker at the bottom of the ramp I bet MVP would've scouted the ninja expansion a few minutes later than he ended up doing.

MVP lost like 1 game in the entire season (?) and that was against his teammate NesTea? Correc me if I'm wrong but that is just absurdly insane. He might go win next season if he keeps up his shape although I hear that his TvP is his weakest.
|
MVP is extremely solid no doubt. But you guys really have to admit and MKP played so much worse than he usually does. MKP is known for brilliant decision making and those he made today were just bad. Taking that gold in game 2 was genius is MKP-brand. But when it came to doing drops, making powerful pushes and getting the right composition out, he just utterly choked and failed.
Even his marine micro was awful. Many times you'll see him miss the shuffle step micro and his marines will just walk forward without shooting. I love MKP's play so much but I think if he entered the finals with more confidence he'd def have taken a few games off MVP. I'm sure he'll be back with more tricks up his sleeve though.
Maybe we might see MVP vs MKP again in the GSTL

Yeah, and he is 29-3 in 2011 thus far, with 2 of those losses coming for Bo5 series he won 3-1 (against NesTea and MKP).
Also, MKP becoming the Yellow of SC2, already 3 silvers under his belt.

Haha, so true. MKP the king of second place
But honestly, MVP is simply the best sc2 player in the world. Game 2 shows exactly why. Poor MKP... I was looking forward to him becoming OptimusPrime

This thread has more views than the OSL thread, but less replys. And why do people have to compare all the time anyway? I enjoy watching the pro-scene of both games and would like to continue doing so.
