I think the closest game was on XelNaga Caverns. Good games Ret .. want to see you in Code S ... I guess the next patch will help with the pylon wall ins a bit. Good luck in your ZvZ against Zenio.

Pretty standard if you ask me. Any decent protoss player can throw down FFs to block pure speedlings.

Agreed 100%. I think a lot of people get carried away with the whole GSL winner being the best player ever thing. oGsMC is a great player but everything he does isn't new and amazing. And I feel it's kind of ridiculous to be saying Ret made horrible decisions and played terrible. From what I saw he made standard decisions for a zerg player based on what the opponent was doing and what his economy would permit. He just attempted to be aggressive in the first game which you have to do more than kill a nexus as zerg or you will be behind any decent protoss in economy because he had to use larva for units instead of drones. Basically early aggression zerg = all-in. Most pros I see play build hydras to counter gateway units which is what he did. His army control might not have been 100% but it wasnt that lopsided of a game. The rest of the games come down to the fact that its tough to guess when to drone and when to make units. No one can be perfect with that aspect of the game, especially when in close positions. GG Ret, I feel your pain.
Get the hell outta here Der Beek, your'e ruining my moment.

I don't think it will change much. 3 pylons instead of 2. Maybe this will be massive or maybe P just won't get such a massive lead when they do this. Who knows.

Honestly, it seems like Ret has no really well-thought-out build orders in ZvP. Ret could have easily had the second game.

And if MC sees Speedlings & Spines, it should be clear that he is going for a 5/6-Gate Push, to kill a Muta Tech.

But LOL @ Blizzards design for maps in game 3, it seems like close air is still so close that All-Ins are WAY to powerful.

he went for 6 gate before he saw anything you silly silly guy, hence why i took aLL drones off gas and never made a damn mutalisk lol

but honestly i gave up the game when i saw his probe

but you made no roaches ... dont want to argue, but a 6 Gate zealot with +1 obviously also counters only speedlings.

yes, but you dont play this game at high level, close pos metal i cant win with roaches vs MC so i took the huge gamble with spire and +1 lings hoping for a robotics, as soon as it wasnt a robotics i knew i lost, this game isnt clear and cut as you think, theres a lot of mind games involved as well

when you lose 80% of your zvps on ladder that doesnt help with confidence either

Why didn't you try to build hydra den as soon as he started attacking? You could have had a lot of hydras for his last push. You were killed by FF, hydras could have helped with this (even with not range upgrade).

Again, he took all off gas just to survive till that point. If he had drones on gas and hydra den going he would have never stopped that first push anyway.

I noticed he had loooot of extra gas at a point. He sure could have turned that into hydras.

by the way, the bracket setup robbed RET 200 $, if he was in zenio's spot he would have made it to the final no problem

edit: he looked really flimsy against zenio with some terrible terrible mistakes

Raoches just straight up die to stalker sentry with a 6gate. UNLESS they get burrow. And then it's a tossup which requires tons of work on the zergs part. MC's forcefields are superb, and forcefield pretty much counter roaches.

I see a Muta Tech die to 6 Gate, i see a Hydra Tech die to 6 Gate, i see only speedlings die to 6 Gate. The only tech i see the Zerg not die straight away is the roach tech. So it seems like you have no other choice (only banelings, lol).

It really seems that SC2 could use some fundamental changes, games revolving around abuse of maps/bunkers/forcefields are getting old :\

Every single map in the SC2 pool are too small, no exception.

Yeah, make it bigger and go play every single game for 20minutes, rofl.

Some maps are to small, yes, but saying that about every single map just makes me laugh. The problem is not really about the maps.

What's wrong with normal length games?
The best, most fun and epic games to watch last much longer than that.
Unless you have an obsession for tier 1 massing there's not much to see in a 10 minute game.

StarCraft:BroodWar was playable and still is for more than 10 years not just because of making the maps bigger... If you blaim all the maps, then re-thnik about the strategy and the balance in a some parts of the game.

Blaiming all the maps just doesn't make sense, also, not every single game must to be epic.

It makes me pretty sad to hear so many people thinking that they know everything better and talk bad about players while they have absolutely no clue about high level play :/

todays games were pretty sad to watch for me

edit: manas PvZ is pretty bad (or at least, definitely worse than his other 2 MUs), he even lost in his warmup game before his match vs ret against me and i was playing on a laptop because im not at home.

Stop bashing MC, his PvT is amazing. And his PvZ is just "i can win both way, but why try the hard way if you can win with the easy way (in the current mappool)". And he has amazing standard PvZ, just watch his series against July.

btw some ppl here are right, i should have made a roach warren or a hydralisk den, but honestly the build i played on metalopis was the first time i used it on close positions and i was totally banking on making a huge gamble in case he would make a robotics, and when he didnt i assumed i was dead. Even if you do make it, he can stay on high grounds with forcefields and wait for that one unit with 9 range to come out then forcefield everything and roaches and hydras melt anyways - i doubt i could have actually won the game but i could have probably made it a little more competitive. thats a mistake in thinking but thats just the result of getting your ass handed to you all the time by protoss (and terran)... ill work on it.

I guess it's pretty much like watching a football game and criticizing the players while not really being able to play the game as them. And yeah it's a sad day for Zerg again.
