Was Demu ahead at this point? Hell, yes. Would he have won the game? Most likely. Definifively? No. Would they have also given Goody the default win if the game would have crashed 10 minutes earlier? Because, at that point, it was the other way around: Goody was way ahead. Remember Dreamhack's Morrow vs. Mana, when Day9 kicked his PC? People were screaming "zomfg Morrow way ahead, need defwin", and in the end Mana won the game. The screaming for defaultwins is pathetic and pitiful, even in online tournaments. And when it comes to professional gaming, with thousands of Euros or Dollars on the line, there is no way eSports can be taken seriously when a game is being decided because the frikking event host, a multimillion Euro company, fails to provide a stable running PC for a player. This is ridiculous, this is unspeakably outraging.

Yes but the point is in contrast to you, the admins have to come up with a decission whereas you can fall back on complaining and not offering a solution.

There is no solution to be offered. Unless a player gives up the game, a disconnect has to lead to a regame. Otherwise, whenever a player feels ahead, he will simply hit the Windows-button on his keyboard and cancel the LAN connection in the task bar.

The combination of a kinda buggy game and battlenet 0.2 makes that SC2 isnt the proper platform yet for a good esport game. There are just way to many disc's, crashes in all sort of tournaments with alot of money on the line. ESL cant do alot in this situation tbh, its just blizzard who made a unstable game with a shity online service, and are unwilling to change anything. LAN support and a big big big big crash hunting action by blizzard would be the the best solution to all this bullshit because then when something goes wrong it will be most likely the fault of the organiser if the game itself is rocksolid (Brood war).

I don't like your solution because it feels unfair when a player with a huge lead disconnects. You are just describing how a loosing player could abuse a yet to formulate rule.
