Edit: Sorry, didn't mean interceptor armor, I mean interceptors in general. Maybe have like a 50% evasion rate or something.

I'm glad he lost. Never really liked the guy since he broke into the pro scene in SC1. He comes across as an arrogant asshole. Of course, I could be totally wrong, but from what I've seen and heard, I doubt it. TheBestfOu out played him in all three games. If it wasn't for trying to get up to his main in game 1, he would have won. Games 2 and 3 speak for themselves regardless of what all the fanboys here say. User was warned for this post

I'm not an expert but that just seems to be sabotaging the idea of having a cohesive team to support / practice with and help get better. Just really sad to hear that from here, even more so than to see another foreigner get knocked out. I mean c'mon guys we should all be rooting for each other no reason to be hatin (especially on your OWN teammates)

It's much healthier for a progamer to face the weaknesses in his play and work on fixing his mistakes than it is for him to think that he 'deserved' to go through and that he only lost because of cheese/imbalance/lag/etc. Ret's teammates know this so they help him keep the right attitude, and of course they'll be there to help him fix any weaknesses he might have. I'm sure they would expect him to do the same if they lost.

We are all sad Ret lost, and only by the inch of a Hair, even with the maps against him. His opponent played very well also, but I'm left with the feeling the odds were stacked against Ret. Would have liked to see the matches take place in a more balanced map set.

I'm putting forward a conspiracy theory that GOM really wants to see a Boxer vs. Moon match. Hopefully this season provides some impetus for GOM and that new players union to get together to decide on some non-Blizzard maps for GSL 2011. Yes, they did place them in a brackets so they would eventually meet. I hope Jinro channels all terran IMBA and pulls-trough - don't think I could handle another Boxers TvZ like that vs Nestea ![]()

Ret did an amazing job in game one and really showed how good he can be, that creep spread + the very impressive micro when the hellions got into his mail. He lost less drones to 5x blue flame than I have seen zergs in GSL lose to 2-3 normal hellions in similar positions. Quite frankly I think Ret played better than his opponent, but he made a few mistakes in game 3 which cost him the game.

Then he mismicroed and was too lax on dropping spines on jungle basin. He KNEW his opponent was going for some 1 base crap and still didn't put spines until it was too late. Then on the final push, he only had two which were positioned rather poorly considering he knew the T had medivacs. He's going to look at that game and slap himself, because dropping another spine or two could have won him the game. Ret is a great player and will be back, but the map had less to do with it than his decision making.

Game 1: the mech was surprisingly effective, if the terran hadn't been trying to go up the ramp and fight the brood lords from below for 5 minutes but instead had swept around the top of the map and cleared out ret's expos, it could have been a lot tougher for ret. But does show his (and zerg's) insanely powerful macro if left alone! Game 2: Early harass did quite some damage to ret even though terran was teching, after that it was mostly a guessing game about what terran was gonna throw at him next. Game 3: Looks like ret would have indeed held the rush (and won the game) had he had zergling speed because those marauders were insane with their kiting. So quite possibly ret not advancing was through a misclick.. And I have to say I'm in the (very lonely) camp of people who don't mind these maps. Throw in a bit of everything. Sure longer macro games are great fun to watch but the solution is NOT to only use big macro maps, that'll just make zerg roflstomp everyone.
