It only saids structures so units are still as intended. Can't really say I care what a costumer service representative says, lol. Cleave is working the exact way it was coded to. 2.5 range splash damage from the circumference of the target unit or structure with 33% damage splashed. Their problem for having an oversight and allowing it to be used on buildings, but it is not a bug. For this to be fixed, an entirely new skill will have to be created, because if they make it work like siege tanks and the splash emanates from the center of the fortress, the ultra will never hit SCV due to bad AI and we are back to square 1. Personally, I think they should leave it how it is, and terrans who want to repair can go screw themselves, or wait until the ultras are dead to start repairing.

However, the splash effect has been the same on units for a long time now. It was always a given that ultras raped groups of units. It's been the same before, it's the same now.

The splash damage radius should be smaller on buildings. Repairing is always an ability of Terran. They should not have to wait until the ultras die to repair.

It seems everybody is pretty confused ![]() Ok hopefully I can help. In the patch NOTHING about the ultra was changed, except the "Ram" ability being removed. Ultras have ALWAYS had that splash when attacking normal units but when attacking buildings, they didn't splash due to "ram". Now with ram being removed, they do what they have always been coded to do... except now it works to great effect on CC's. Like someone else said... it is an OVERSIGHT, not a bug. So in other words, Cool did not win just because of a bug. There is no bug. Ultras did what they were coded to do vs a large clumped up army.

Like most people here I think TLO is awesome and hope he progresses further in the next GSL. Idra is incredibly talented but he needs to work on his game attitude if he wants to succeed against these rapidly improving Koreans. Moving onto the R16... Fantastic performance by Cool, I was SO excited when he won with those ultras I was shouting in my room haha. Inca is another of my favourites in this side of the draw, I love his wacky tactics and fantastic micro abilities. The 2nd half of the R16's I will be cheering for Checkprime (I'm supporting the two zergs over anyone else for obvious underdog reasons). Check has shown some wonderful play in the clips I've seen of him playing, I believe it was Check who I saw use two nidus networks, one for delivering zergs into the enemy base and one for pulling them out - absolutely genius play. I could write all day but I think I'll shut up for now.

Moving on. It's pointless to continue this discussion in a dead thread, but it bothers me to see such a rude condescending attitude by someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. Fa1nT is absolutely right- there is no bug. There is no programming error- cleave is working exactly how it was programmed to work. Blizzard decided to give let this ability work on buildings, without considering the fact that the ability changes depending on the size of the target. This is an oversight, not a bug. It is the same as if you handed a gun to soldier for him to use in self-defense, and he shot himself in the foot. There is not a flaw with the gun. Instead, a poor decision was made on how to utilize the gun. Anyway, if you're going to accuse someone of being so outrageously wrong that they're "digging themselves into a hole" and accusing them of demeaning others in order to support their points... imo you need to be absolutely sure that the other person is actually incorrect. BTW even Blizzard does not call it a bug.
