he knew that top was gonna play double expo and thus he collected a MASSIVE amount of gas so that right when he had hive tech he could make a 200/200 army of ultras. GOD what a beast

Top completely mis-microed that battle. He had 15 thors vs 10 ultras - of which only 9 ultras made it to the battle, of which only 5 were attacking initially. Cool throws his lings, roachs, and banelings at the thors from the top, so the thors started attacking those small units while the first 5 ultras made their way into the thors and started hitting on the thors. It wasn't until the first layer of thors were at half life before Top decided to attack the ultras. At this point, due to how the splash works with the ultras, basically 10 of the 15 thors were at half life, and the remaining 4 ultras came down to finish the job. Cool ends up with 6 ultras after that battle. Ultra upgrades - 4 armor, 1 attack (chitinous plating adds the +2 armor) Thors upgrades - (looks like) 2 armor, 2 attack So honestly, Top really messed up that fight. He went against a slightly lesser ultralisk army on their creep, in a tight ball that would just exacerbate the strength of ultra splash, and he decided to shoot at the 20 or more zerglings attacking him from the top side. If not for that, he may have evened out the ultra numbers there, because the moment the thors were attacking the ultras, like 3 of them died instantly.

Kulas has pretty tight chokes it's not really easy to spread your Thors out when you're the one attacking. I'm not sure he new ultras would be out right then so he was already pinned in from the top by ling/roach. When you're fighting zerglings you have to keep your thors tight together to prevent surround. Even had he specifically just targeted the ultras he was in a terrible position though I think he would've lost that army either way, you're probably right to suggest he could have done better with it. I'm not sure it would've pulled off the game for him though pure thor is pretty :\.

Yeah, I'm not saying he would have won that battle or the game, but evening out a few more ultras could have cascaded it. It was just a bad attack on his part and a good defense on Cool's part to use the smaller more numerous units to distract the thors.

I don't want to take anything away from Cool I know hes a great player and it still would have been close even without the bug but it seemed to just be that much more effective.

If by bug, you mean the splash damage on the units? That's what won him the game. The splash damage on the planetary fortress was an afterthought when he had the game in the bag.

It only saids structures so units are still as intended.

Maka said that confidence does not come from outside but from inside, but every time I translate interview with guys like Cool I can actually feel their confidence from them radiating into me, and it helps me relax in front of camera. Although I am still afraid when interviewing zerg player cuz questions might mention some zerg vocab whcih I am not confident with, I personally think zerg games are so much more fun to watch. Great job on the translations! Though I'm curious how much English Cool actually knows... EDIT: Really, Terrans? The bug DID NOT "win the game" for Cool...actually, TOP smartly moved his SCVs out of the PF range every time. Take a page out of his book.
