But thank you TokO and Cryo for giving advice without just being rude. I appreciate the advice, but I'm not seeing HOW to actually implement the advice. I understand the concept of eventually if you outplay your opponent to a large enough agree, you can beat a terran. If it's not possible to beat a terran of equal level, fine, then I won't worry about it, and I'll only play zerg/protoss at my level. Otherwise if it is possible to fly my oracle past a cyclone without lock on killing me, or send my observer through turrets without dying, I need to know how to. If I already knew how, I wouldn't have that problem.
I realize I make mistakes, if I didn't make mistakes, then I'd be pissed I didn't win IEM. I'm not looking for advice on how to play perfectly, that will just take time to get everything down perfectly. I'm looking for things like how to scout when he has things like walls, turrets, and cyclones, what units to actually build to stop his army, and things like that. Toko, I appreciate the advice on what units to build to beat his, but I run into problems that if I can't scout to find out what he's building, what should I be building then? Should I just not build any units until I can somehow throw enough at him to see what structures he built and his comp? I feel like I would lose if I just don't build units for a long time. I build stalkers because they can hit ground and air. I don't want to build adepts and lose if he builds anything but marines, or if he builds a bunch of marines. I've tried that before, and it's a bad feeling when a liberator flies in outside the range of a pylon, and I have nothing that can hit air. I'm not fast enough to pull probes without losing a couple, and by the time my warp in cycle comes up and I make stalkers, I've already lost a lot of mining time.
Even if I just leave something outside of his base, if I start building the counter to his army as it's coming at me, there's no way I'll live through it.

This is the worst part of online forums, lack of ability to knock someones teeth out when they talk shit. I listen to good advice, it's the advice contradicting the good advice that gets confusing, or the advice that's simply, "Play on par with GM level players, and there won't be an issue beating a gold terran" that's just not helpful.
Now either stop being a little bitch and shut your mouth, or run your mouth in person.

If you have done bad choices in the beginning of the game you cant make up for it just like that, otherwise this would be a sucky ass game, if you couldn't scout you have to excpect the unexcpected "cliche". If your gonna stack Oracles you have to hit him where is weak against multiple oracle, and oracles arent really good like that, or else you have given up other strenght that you could have at that point of time in the game. No pro can just fly oracle over cyclone, if you have any footage of this i would like to see it. It very possible to beat a terran of equal level, but it doesnt just happen like that, its the guy who makes the first mistake that most often loses. You cant just build stuff and hope that you will kill somebody with it, you will have to force your opponent to make mistake with cleverness, and that stuff cannot just be explained, either you gain if from experience or you are clever about observering pro games and understand what made the opponent make a mistake, otherwise you will have to outlast him in making mistake and leaving it up to that is not really what you want. But we cant just explain these things to a gold player and excpect you to just make it happen. Theres i a certain amount of skill you have to aquire with your mind and body to execute tricks, traps, bluffs, all ins, as a gold player i really advice you to not get ahead of yourself, you also have to climb the steps like we all have done. Spending time making excuses for things you dont even understand when you could be improving as we speak.

It is possible to beat any player despite their race, at any level. Who you can and cannot beat ultimately determines "your level". So if you are playing a Terran player at "your level" you should be able to beat him as easily as he is capable of beating you.
The whole cyclone lock-on and observer through turrets is map awareness. If you are not paying attention, you will lose your stuff. That goes for almost everything in the game. If you are not paying attention to your minimap then that is something you need to fix.
If you walk up to a brick wall, then go around it, climb over it, or dig under it. This goes for all players who can't seem to beat/handle X. If X is an unbreakable force, then avoid it, pick off what is breakable with the least amount of casualties. If missile turrets are denying your observers from entering a base and gaining scouting information, then use hallucinated units = avoid casualties.
If you are really worried about air, why not build pheonix? You don't "need" stalkers because they can shoot air. Saying that pheonix come out too late is not an excuse either because air units for all the other race require tech as well

See this is helpful. I understand I make mistakes in early game, and there's still a lot of things I need to get better at. However some things are going to take time for me to perfect. For example, being able to respond to cheese. Everytime I face cheese, I lose if I don't scout it early enough. So if I suspect cheese, I scout from the start so I can figure out how to respond faster to it. I know multiple oracles aren't that great, however my biggest struggle in most PvT matches are early bio aggression, or liberator play. I build the multiple oracles because they help me against marines, and so I can build stalkers to help with liberators. I also build multiple oracles because I'm not perfect, and do lose them, and I'm trying to work on controlling caster units better, so I try to build more of them.
The problem is that playing exactly like this I have very few problems with protoss or zerg, it's only terran. Not perfectly spending resources, or probe production not being exactly on is something that will take me time to get better at, but those little things don't outright lose my games in other match ups. So I feel like there has to be something more. I get scouting is huge, and I need to get it better. However I need to know HOW to, because saying I need to scout I already know, I just can't figure out how to get past the defense to see what I need to see, and everything I've tried has failed.
I also already know that playing a lot better will help across the board, the problem is that should I win against terran because of only that, then I'll progress, but still lose to the better terran because I can't figure out how to deal with that playstyle.

Hi dance, long time no see! I try building phoenix, but other than liberators I can't seem to get much use out of them. I've seen pro's do awesome things with them, but I'm just not good enough yet to micro them, while trying to control other parts of my army at the same time. Far too much micro for me to handle at the moment.
As far as hallucinated units, I might not lose units, but how do I get them through any better than my real units? I don't have any replays of pro's playing against people who build a lot of turrets and defense.

Awe, it almost seemed like you were turning over a new lief. It's not being superior when you need to hide behind a screen to talk trash to people. Anyone can be the kid hiding in their basement insulting people to make themselves feel good. Try stepping out into the real world, become more well rounded, and find out what the consequences of your actions are when you try the same thing without hiding.

To clarify for people who are interested in learning PvT. When you open stargate oracle against a Terran opponent, you always build 2. You scout with the first one, and the second one rallies to your main to prevent counter attack play. Should you scout a cyclone, then the 2nd oracle joins the first one, and you attack the cyclone with both oracles.
Starcraft is like chess, everyone makes mistakes, the winner is the one who made the second to last mistake. Not every time do we catch our opponents making mistakes, just like not every time are we able to capitalize on their mistakes.
My advice: Always get ahead of yourself, make no excuses, never stop improving.

Remember, this is why you hide online to insult people, because you can't handle it in the real world. You can't say you can give and take when you give hiding in your room. Talking crap in person, that's more giving and taking. I do appreciate the advice, and won't take that away from you. Little kids hide online and talk crap because they know they can't do the same thing in reality, because then you lose to real superiority. I'd have far more respect for you if you talked crap in person, at least that has balls.

You are just a monkey who accidently fell down a tree that now want to punch theets out bcuz you think ppl are hiding and talking trash in their basement, ITS CALLED FREEDOM OF SPEECH MF.
|
And that is why you will forever be in gold league, cuz i dont think you will ever make platinum judging from your latest post actually.
|
Lol, hiding and talking crap where no one can see you isn't freedom of speech, it's being too scared to face the reality of your own actions. Anyone can hide and talk crap, it's no evolution to be too wimpy to face people in the real world.
EDIT: If you want to keep being a scary cat and talking trash from your basement, fine, but PM me instead so we're not wasting space on the forum.

At any point in time vs Zerg i feel like i'm climbing an impossible mountain. More often than not i'm able to break a base of his and still lose. With so many transitions available for zerg, I'm sitting here thinking what can I do to cover all my bases. Usually I open with stargate and some phoenixes. Their utility is (A) scouting, (B) light harass, since you cant step into a base full of spore colonies once its fortified, and last but not least (C) lifting enemy units to hold timing attacks or to offend with. The idea, in my head at least, is to force hydras, which i can push with an adept timing attack. The next steps are unclear to me due to all the branches the zerg tech tree has. Barring cheese and all ins, I have absolutely no idea what to do. Please send help.
