You risk getting frustrated if it detonates the way you would not expect it to do, which it does sometimes. Just use them in a way you are sure they do something. For example - defending proxy Oracle, securing fast 3rd TvZ, stopping roach/ling/bling, strenghten your anti-drop defense, etc.. | ||

I'm curious if someone is able to make fast 3cc + widow mine work. I think we need to be specific on matchup, because, for example, in TvP, I'm pretty sure you can't go fast 3cc no matter what. There are just too many things that might outright kill you. But on the other hand, Protoss needs to take wm into account and prepare accordingly. | ||

If your enemy is not aware, then yes. But it takes just 1 observer and a little bit of awareness and you will lose all your mines while doing no damage at all. | ||

I dont know, often I just build third CC pretty fast for mules and additional scv. Then lift off to expansion location once you think you can secure it. Often times you can lift it while attacking. Some mines at third would be good. | ||

I'm just curious, because in my experience, there is no way you can "build fast 3rd cc and place it there while attacking".. Have you faced something like Voidray/Gateway allin, or Dt's, etc? | ||

Your eco will skyrocket with early 3rd CC and you can definately make a timing attack with it. It is 400 minerals that quickly pays itself. As for defending, you would survive of bio and bunkers, and its perfectly viable, this build is used quite alot and has proven itself The real counter to it though is 2-base collosus push | ||
