drop 1 mine in main, walk a 2nd mine to natural. You might as well always bring your marines because 2-4 at home isn't going to do anything for you. If the toss is being aggressive as well, say 1 base blink stalkers or 1 base oracle it will turn into a funky base race situation one way or another.

"classic" TvZ, where I tried 12 12 reaper > reactor hellion 3CC into banshee >>> failing to muta (end game is not relevent i was dead since the beginning....)
level : I just was promoted back to platinium, my opponent former master promoted in diamond)

need help !

my mistakes :
- not delaying his third
- not pressuring enough with reaper hellion & not landing third ? (when should I have tried to?)
- not macroing properly to thors while pressuring with hellion banshee...

- being outplayed ? (APM wise...)

any advice, general or focused things ?

thx all for input

Simply put, your build is very micro-intensive and your macro is atrocious. You spike to over 900 minerals during your double reaper harass (you can see even through replay that you spam click your reaper to get away), and despite a greedy 3CC opening at 10 minutes you have under 40 harvesters (I think it was actually 33 with 3 in production).

Terran, more than any other race, is severely punished for poor macro. We don't get to bank our production time like the other races. Strong mechanics are a key to good terran play, and should be focused on before all else.

The multi-tasking trainer custom map is good practice for this.

Listen to this man. Thanks for linking these guides, i totally forgot about the 2nd one, which is just timeless. Even when you are master you can improve things.

If I have 10 hellions and 10 hellbats, is there a way to only select the hellions in this patch? If I ctrl click hellions then the hellbats are selected too that is really annoying for harass.

No all you can do is shift click the hellbats out of the selection or simply try boxing hellions only.

Yeah, it's really retarded now. Splitting them by hand is a lot harder than choosing both Hellions and Hellbats, but seperately as it was before. I hope they change this back.

More questions about the 12/14 2 rax reaper build.

I've heard that gas first elevator hellion build is the counter for this build, correct? If yes, how does one execute the elevator correctly since most likely there will be reapers poking for weakness in my main continuously.

The reaper build is annoying to play against since it's so strong in the early game and basically forces you to play catch-up passively. Since the opponent gets early stim it's hard to do any strong harass. Any advice on how to proceed from taking a few scv losses against this build?

A question about stim micro against zerglings: is it correct while dropping to back into a corner and NOT stim the outer marines, so they can take more hits from the lings (thus dying slower) while acting as a wall for the rest of the marines OR do I just stim them all to kill the lings asap?

Gas first hellion build is strong against 2 rax reaper opening because your opponent will be stuck on reapers and marines for a long time. As soon as you deflect the reapers you can go for a counter with hellion medivac. Keep the marines home for defense against reapers and drop hellions in his main.

If I go gas first and wants to go for a marine elevator build and sees that my opponent goes for 2 rax reaper I abort the medivac and go straight into cloaked banshee. Since your first marine is delayed you cannot lose it to the first reaper. Make it a habit that when you go gas first, rally the first marine into your mineral line just to make sure you don't lose it.

When you back into a corner with marines, ALWAYS stim them all. If you drop 8 marines, lift them up when there is 4-5 left if your opponent has an overwhelming amount of lings.

HOnestly if you want a Stable Build in TvT Where I myself have a 90% winrate with is 12 rax 15 gas > Fact > CC > 2nd Gas > Starport > Raven > Viking everything in this build lines up so well with the Banshee timings and 2 rax reaper timings 1/1/1 pushes and actually if you spot a weakness you can take full advantage of it either elevatoring Hellions into the main or going Counter Cloakshees possibilities are seriously endless and it puts you in a situation where you can get 3 CC crazy early and be MASSIVELY ahead while still putting pressure on your opponent and playing defensively....

I seriously can NOT stress enough how strong this build truly is.... Most games I go Mech in TvT and react with 2 extra starports against Mech and early upgrades or go Heavier on Factories if i'm against Bio....

12 gas hellions deal with it pretty easily. Just pull two scvs to tank damage until your hellion is out. Then counter push!

So, has anyone tried a one base all-in with the new ghosts against Protoss? I make 3 racks with add-ons, research cloak and concussive shells, make a few marines then 2 ghosts then some marauders and more marines, and I leave the base around 7:30 I think. Scan the opponent's natural and ramp, which is where the mothership core tends to be, cloak my ghosts, move forward, double-emp the core, and finally move-attack the rest of the army.

Hi would you mind posting a replay or two? I am just starting to use this exact opener and I really like it, but could use some help with exactly how to continue after the raven pops.
