hey guys i just lost to a blink all in. Need some tips. http://drop.sc/373836I guess I was a bit greedy taking both bases. But Last time, I kept the second cc in my base to protect from one base instead of having my army scattered. However, this lead to protoss doing damage + catching up in economy. This build is so hard to hold! help!
Your Biggest DownFall..... was simply you had the $ for Stim for 4 mins and a techlab ready and didn't start it until 7:30 which his blink was really late... honestly if you started stim ASAP got the 3 rax like you did 1 bunker in main 2 at nat like you did and tech to Starport you would have Steam Rolled him.......

Ravens help too but I feel pdd is better so you dont seeker your own army. Dont forget to retain tanks for a tech switch

My friend and I are new to the game, and I'm looking for a Terran Starter Build for him. Nothing cheesy ... rather looking for a decent build to build up fundamentals of macro'ing. To give you some context, we'll be practicing this against the AI before heading to the wild. Thanks in advance!

This seems a little over the tops but the basic idea is GREAT for learning and is how I taught myself and all my friends. Just make workers and marines. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=374400 As far as builds. 1 rax gasless expo into 3 rax stim should do it.

I also do Free 1 on 1 Coaching for Terrans Plat and Below just to try to encourage more Terran players climb through the ranks

also ravens are good to add if you can them pdds, turrets, and seekers are all really good vs mutas. if you go for the hellion banshee you can get a raven out after the 2nd banshee and its not that hard to keep it alive if its gets to the point of mass muta also turrets with hi sec upgrade are very sick and the building upgrade it nice if you can get it

In TvT, what do you do against mass MASS ravens?
I played an hour long game where my opponent built around 14 ravens after getting enough tanks and hellbats to secure his third base, by this time I was building my 5th base.
I failed to scout the mass raven because he was rallying them inside his main. Should I have built Ghosts? I was so far ahead in terms of economics, infrastructure, etc, but I could not get a remotely close fight between PDD, Seekers, auto-turrets, With that many Ravens, it's as if they have infinite energy. I would dodge seeker missiles left and right, but there was always more to be cast.
I feel like this is a pretty redundant question, Ghosts should have probably been used. but yea, any thoughts would be appreciated.

Post Rep Please.... That will help us evaluate your situation at the very least.... If your opponent was allowed to get to that situation in the game and you didn't escalate in tech with him then you will wind up with that situation... though yes Ghosts can be used its not so ez but you can get Clutch Emps when they clump which can be game ending hahaha

I didn't post the replay because I'm at work, and I really just got outplayed, so I don't have any excuses. I just didn't have the sense to build ghosts, I thought I could continue to trade and eventually he would run out of money, but in the end I just kept getting destroyed by the Ravens.

Ghosts aren't really the answer. If you're ahead economically and he's just turtling 3 base, you should be able to match his starport production and exceed it. I'm assuming you were both doing marine tank before this.

He went for mech while I went for marine/tank. And yea, you are correct, I floated too much money and let him get that big number of ravens.
I thought it was a good idea to continue to trade with him and it just didn't work out. Bad play from me good play from him.
|
Also you simply can't play Marine Tank against Mech.... you put yourself at an automatic disadvantage....... You literally have to play bio to fight against him then he won't be able to comfortable afford to keep replacing tanks and make ravens.... so you have to play Marauders / Drops and Tanks to secure locations and good positions if you get the chance too....
This style is hard to pull off espeically for lower league matches....
E: Also my reference to this was the Match of the Year of Taeja vs Innovation Game 2 I believe......

Hello guys! I've started playing starcraft2 while GSL open season 2 was going on and was completely hooked up until the massive bloordlord+infestor towards the end of WoL, which made my playing time decrease slowly and steadly. I bought HoTs and also played a fair amount of it, but moved on about a year or so ago.
I've always been a masters player, usually at the 90% percentile of the league and i'm looking to return! But i don't wanna grind back to diamond or masters just by cheesing or doing random things and winning due to macro, i wanna re-learn the game and the metagame its going through right now...
So i need your help! Build orders, relevant replays (that expose the current meta), all that stuff...If anyone has the spare time to help Thanks in advance!
edit: oh, i guess i also forgot pretty much everything about general gameplay... i'm also looking for little control tips or shift+action shenanigans

What do you guys think of going sky Terran (cloakshees, ravens, and vikings) vs Protoss? In gold league at least, I've been having some great success with it. I use a raven and vikings to snipe the obs or oracle and then just use the insane dps of banshees vs everything. Is this viable in upper leagues?

it's not going to take you to grandmaster, but if you just want to have fun in mid leagues then almost anything can be viable if you practice it enough. in gold league i'm sure you can demolish people just because they won't be expecting or scouting it. but of course you have to realize in higher leagues people will respond with better scouting and better compositions, so how you engage in gold may not work very well

Ok this is going to sound crazy, but ever since the first time I encountered mass raven I always make 2-3 extra medivacs and add them to my own raven viking army - which can be as small as 2 ravens and a handfull of vikes. Just A-move into their viking raven fleet, seeker your own medivacs (2+ on each). Then fly towards their biggest raven clump and boost at the last second. They will have to split their ravens which can be difficult so your trade will almost always be efficient especially if they end up seekering your medivacs also.
Anyway I'm pretty sure this is the most stylish way to go about it 8p

So i have been trying out a hybrid hellion banshee in TvZ and it has been working well but can anyone link me to some recent build order/ list of timings when going for something like 8-10 hellions with 2 banshees cause the early game goes well i either kill or deny the third and kill queens but my macro slips, partly because I am not comfortable with it yet and dont have like any formal timings, thanks.
edit; what do i do against a protoss that proxys an oracle off his 2nd pylon?? and is at my base at like 5:20

You have to scout it - and once you did - build a bunker in your mineral line. Eng. bay + turret will be too late.

struggling vs 2 base protoss that rush colossus out and spam zealots once legs and first upgrades finish. how should i change my play vs protoss who do this?
