Probably a dumb question. BUT.... Will the Core 3.0 have a revamp of 1.0 and 2.0? I currently know 1.0 really well and am very excited to see how the core 3.0 includes all the new hotkey functions but am hesitant to learn the core 2.0/3.0.

Thanks for all the hard work that has been done on this.

I think there is two options. Either switch to something else like rapid fire or box select queens, or you can hit "stop" / "hold position" after injects. Haven't tried that myself but it should work. I personally switched to camera locations and box select.

I think box select is probably the way to go, it's a shame though, sequence with holding shift and pressing the queen hotkey, inject, location cam 1, click, location cam 2, etc was quite fast. Location / box select sequence will be location cam 1, box, inject, click, location cam 2, box, inject, click, etc. It feels like having queens and locations on shift+key is unneeded now, might as well have them on single keys.

Disclaimer: this is all in an old version of the core idk if this is solved by newer versions.

Has anyone already gone through the plethora of unbound hotkeys with LotV and is willing to share a working version for ladder play? particularly interested in ZRM for US layout

Would be interested in this, as well. I don't understand how there are suddenly so many new keys. Do standard-key layouts have a lot to change/adapt to, as well? I'm hesitant to check myself because I don't want to see any potential spoilers

You should be fine with the zerg layout. It just isn't optimized the same way.

I downloaded The Core and putted in the folder hotkeys, but it don't appear in the options keyboard dropdown menu.

TheCore+ currently uses 7 combinations. (including no modifiers).

Interesting use of AltGr there to get the 8th. Unfortunately we're using "/" for build advanced. What would you set build advanced to?

If I wanted / for build advanced I would set my keys like this:
|Shift||_/_||_Ctrl||Shift|
|AltGr||Ctrl||Shift||ALT|
and have CTRL+/ for build advanced (my keyboard's layout is "." "/" "Shift" "\")
However I can see how it's a problem, and I have no solution at hand. 7 combinations is still quite a lot.

Jak, any chance you could share your current in-progress keyboard file/setup for LotV? At least just as a base to start from.

Or if anyone else has one (particularly coming from RRM 2.0).

Hello, I have problem with the core. CTRl + P, CTRL + [ and CTRL + ] hotkeys doesnt work. Same keys with shift, alt or anything work. I tried every version of keyboard, but none works. Any suggestions how to solve this?

LotV hotkeys can, for the most part, be set through the front and for the first time (and being part three of the trilogy also the last) this includes campaign units.

For the most part Blizzard set keys to inherit so setting one sets the rest. Given I've been harping on about this for over two years it's nice to think that someone was listening.

Only a few were missed that I've found so far:

The Arbiter from the Stargate:

The Terran addons in the epilogue. Technically these are in TheCore but I banished them because until this expansion they were useless - I'm not even going to get started.

I'm wodering is it possible and effective to play with The Core layout without using the pinky as right handed . I feel like my pinky is really slow compare to other finger , I can't play with him .

While I haven't found anything that couldn't be accessed through the front in my yet unfinished playthrough of the campaign, the Co-op missions gave me a bit of a headache. It seems that there's a few keys, which can't be accessed through the Co-op front. I haven't done proper check at all, but so far I haven't been able to find the keys for Raynor's Hyperion and it would seem that Swann's Factory Tech Lab upgrades cover over Raynor's. Zagara's Scourges seem to use their WoL keys, so they can be accessed from there, but not from Co-op; might add some complexity to the puzzle, if TheCore is to support Co-op.

Hey JaK Will 3.0 bring other new things to TheCore aside from support of the new campaign (and Co-op?) and Archon CG commands?

Unless your pinky has a handicap, your pinky will grow stronger and more agile from play sessions. But if you really don't like to stress it, I suggest you to change your layout so that less important keys are positioned on your pinky. If you don't use a lot of control groups you can also consider Terran or Random 2.0, which uses control groups on the pinky.

TheCore 100% needs to support Co-op. I also found keys that could not be accessed through the front for co-op. We're going to have to get together and really hammer out these issues for 3.0. Hey JaK,
love your stuff. I was wondering if there was any ETA for 3.0 as I'm currently holding out on ladder since I want to hit it with 3.0. Is it reasonable to go with 2.0 now or are they completely different? If the difference is not so large maybe you can consider pushing out a 3.0 Alpha version with only the new units for multiplayer for all the guys that want to hit the ladder with the Core?

A 3.0 alpha that just works for multiplayer would be great.
Have been playing HotS and missing out on LotV multiplayer for the same reason bibablub brought up.
