Okay, this is my RRM setup with (most?) the co-op and campaign keys set. Keep in mind that I did not put as much thought into this layout as Jak and others have in the original. I basically knew what keys were available and bound them as I saw fit, trying to be as consistent as possible but not really caring a whole lot. (I've gotten use to learning hotkeys and I'm not afraid of everything changing when the official version comes out)
A friend and I hopped into co-op last night and he got done prematurely so I stayed on and finished the bindings -- I feel like people wouldn't like it if I joined co-op just to set bindings
Also note that I haven't added in the missing ones as pointed out by @Sixtus so their may be some conflicts. I'll update it as I run in to issues but it may take some time as I don't have many buddies to co-op with and I have a general aversion to random groups.

Question to Jak: Are there any plans to include the new "transfer to control group with ALT" functionality added with archon mode?
|
I believe that is definitely in the works. If you use the left handed layouts, you can try assigning it to caps lock or something else that is convenient for you. Not sure what to do with the right hand layout yet which stinks because that's what I use. I'll do some thinking about it tonight
|
It needs to be a modifier key though right? I'm thinking I might be able to bind my space bar for that, but its not ideal. the enter key could also work if I'm willing to adjust my chat settings.
|
I haven't tried it but I've heard of a lot of people using caps lock for it, shouldn't be a problem. Give it a try, if it doesn't work then you know. You can also use a key remapper to make your windows key something else (F12 for instance) and bind it to that

Very helpful. I use RRM-2.0 myself. Much appreciated!

I would like to give TheCore a try, but I'm curios if it makes sence so far since its not compatible with Random/Lotv out of the box. And I dont know where the missing hotkeys would fit.
Since I had a big break I would like to combine it with TheStaircase, so what do you think: Wait for a 3.0 or dont give a fuck? :D
|
I am hanging out waiting and eager man. Can't wait to have all the new functions integrated for me. lol. Though I do use version 2.0 until it comes out but still keen. Sounds like a few things have been changed for not much gain. But just having keys for everything without me having to work it all out is great I think.
|
We will be including the new control group functions (add steal and create steal) in TheCore 3.0.
They do need to be used with modifiers (or 10 individual available keys which is insanely inefficient).
TheCore 3.0 isn't going to be that much more efficient than 2.0. I suggest just going for 2.0 rather than waiting, but if you're an efficiency junky like me, i understand if you wait
If you're looking for people to talk about TheCore (or just someone that also wants to bind their Co-op keys) join TheCore group on battle.net! (on the Americas Server). It'd be really nice if we could get an active community within the game going, but its up to all of you to make that happen.

In the Core spreadshet , you advice one CG for all production building in Terran , Isn't better to have 1 for Rax ,1 for fact etc . Knowing that I have reboung CG so I can have the 3 CG on the same line .
|
i think the core spreadsheet is a bit outdated, so it might be bad to reference it for everything
but yeah, i think the idea is to have all production buildings on one hotkey, and tab through them with a mouse button. also i think you can throw your upgrades on your CC hotkey and tab through those as well
also jak, just wanna say i love your work! I had to switch mouse hands because of RSI, and it's been super fun relearning the game through TLS

Anyone can tell me how i can make the key "7" repeat the command "Move" while holding the key down.
Ive tried doing that but it dosen't repeat. I don't understand why it dosen't work because i've successfully done it with the "END" key.
Here is what i've tried: -I bound "Smart Command" to "7". -I bound both "Smart Command" and "AI Target" to "7"
In both cases it only do the move command once without repeat.
Thanks for the help.
EDIT: Just read on a forum that this might be a bug with LoTV.

@Begoul66 By having your production on one control group, you go from 6 available control groups for army to 8. Its about the big picture, the effect each part of the layout has on the other.
@Siglemic Not sure what you're talking about, can you be more specific?
@R05 You can't use Smart Command for Rapid Fire any more. You can however use TargetChoose for this. (binding move command and an alternate for choose ability or AI Target to the same key)

@Jak I joined group "TheCore". Currently 3 members, hopefully I found the right one. I'm with you, it would be awesome if we could see this group grow. It would truly be a resource for anyone interested in discussing TheCore, practicing with other people that have the same goals, etc.
Can I recommend adding a mention of it to the main post so it can hopefully get more attention? I refer people to this thread all the time but I'm sure they rarely make it to page 394. I'm patiently awaiting updates and I'm excited to see where this goes. If there is any area you need a hand, please shoot me a message; I'm honestly not an overly skilled player and I don't ladder at all. If I did I would probably be gold. I do however understand game mechanics and the core and I'm not bad at data entry tasks.

@Sixtus Seems like Co-op Zagara's Scourge explosion ability isn't to be found in the front. I'm also curious, how'd you find the Co-op data in the editor to find these keys? I only been able to find the LotV campagin maps, not any of the Co-op maps.

I have been trying to understand the core, and was wondering about a few things.
For reference, I've been looking at TLM setup, but these seem to be relevant at least to TRM as well.
1. Why are camera locations using ctrl+shift? Isn't that way too difficult to reach in a hurry? I was a bit doubtful that even a single modifier key would not be too much for jumping to camera locations, so 2 seems way too much. There seem to be plenty of unused keys when ctrl or shift are pressed. Would it really be worse to use those for cameras locations (set with alt, jump with ctrl or shift)?
2. I would have thought the attack key would be one of the most important. Shouldn't it be in a position that the index finger can easily reach, or even the resting point of the index finger? Combining it with stim seems like it would make it even more difficult, since, except for combinations involving the thumb, those 2 fingers are the slowest to press in succession.
3. I noticed clock on/off uses different scheme than siege/tank mode, burrow/unburrow and supply lower/raise. I couldn't find a reason why it isn't the same. Even the upgrades seem like they could use the same hotkey. Any reason for that?
4. Why is bunker salvage so far off?
Thanks in advance for any answers!

Is this an actual button on Zagara herself? I can't see anything for it. Can you take a screenshot or describe where in is in relation to other buttons?
The mod has to accessed through BattleNet in the map editor, search Blizzard maps for 'Allied' and it should come up.

Any reason why unit mode hotkeys are not set to toggle keys? For instance is there a reasoning behind why I would want my warp prism to have a different hotkey for Phase Mode and Transport Mode rather than just having one hotkey that toggles between both modes?
|
Imagine you have a few siege tanks sieged and some not. Now you want to siege (unsiege) all in a hurry. What happens now, if you hit the toggle key for siege/unsiege? For the Warp Prism the reason is mainly consistency. You do not use many warp prisms at once (at least I do not).
