– Shield battery in on T (same as LoTV campaign) – Nexus as recall on R I'm not playing protoss any more. Maybe there is an interesting interaction to find between camera location and nexus recall: – save current location to #cam with an alternate for cam 3, with Shift+CapsLock? currently unused…) – Shift+#cam to target base – select nexus – launch command (R) – back to (Shift+3) Not sure it could make sense, the goal would be to get a comfortable way to make quick and precise nexus recalls. Therefore we could think about cam alternates for fast cam save, and location of the Nexus Recall to fit with those alternates. What do you think about that? Edit: I've just filed an issue to keep track on that: https://github.com/bobo38/TheCoreLite/issues/10

Quick cam is shortly described here: https://github.com/bobo38/TheCoreLite/blob/master/README.md#quick-cam Here is the comment describing the proposed Nexus recall process: https://github.com/bobo38/TheCoreLite/issues/10#issuecomment-345533406

About the recall thing, I would have to try that out if I have the time, but it seems like a good idea. Currently, I'm just hitting R and it recalls to the nearest nexus (which is most likely the one closest to the enemy). If I have to recall because of harass, I just use Shift+#cam to get to the harrassed base and then recall via minimap. It works well so far, but I will try out your suggestion and report back with the findings.

– Shift+#base – release Shift, click nexus – Shift+CapsLock – double tap #group – CapsLock+C+click select nexus and recall Benefits: – CapsLock could be assigned upfront as a retreat option and recall earlier – #group to recall could be ordered to move and flee big army (no longer relying on static camera) If I compare, I'm not sure that the quick camera is better, I consider reverting it and replacing with that Currently thinking about/testing optional bindings for Tab: – Tab, direct access to create/steal for CapsLock group, to be used for removing units from groups¹ and getting a hotkey to micro them as long as the group is not overwritten – Shift+Tab, as alternate for select all army (scenario to give orders to some groups, Shift+Tab+D+Click to queue an A-move for all units to the target point, then micro some groups like harass – could be really cool to attack from different angles and defend at the same time) ________________________________________ ¹ i had this idea watching the last part of this video

In general, I like the idea of having a quick retreat option, however, it is vital that you do not use the CapsLock (to which the retreat nexus gets added) control group for any units/unit-producing structures or your moves/rallies will mess with the probe rallying. So you would have to use CapsLock as your upgrade-structure hotkey. I don't like this very much because: 1. I prefer to have my upgrade structures on a key that is harder to hit (since I don't use it as often as my army hotkeys). I currently have it on 3. 2. Nexi take priority over some upgrade structures when tabbing through them, so you have to tab more. About 2.3.1 Tried it out for a bit, really like the extra CG on Caps! I'm of course still used to the hotkeys of the old version so I'm having a hard time (and will most likely not make the complete switch). One minor nitpick I had: For protoss, I really liked that your main upgrade structures (forge and twilight council) were both on the E hotkey. This consistency (something that really made TheCore (Lite) stand out) has now been lost. Edit: Also, the Grave hotkey (which is relatively easy to reach) is now completely unused as far as I'm aware. Any ideas how to put that one to use? Edit2: For consistency's sake again, I think it would have been nice to have Mass Recall and Strategic Recall on the same hotkey (R or C). Otherwise, I really like the upgrade, good job! Maybe the OP could also use some updating now btw?

Otherwise, I really like the upgrade, good job! Maybe the OP could also use some updating now btw? If you're referring to the Original Post, I had some plans to start an new one. I need to somehow revive this idea. This one is kind of locked, and JaKaTaK told me that a post that has not been updated for 3 months requires some admin special operation to be updated. Thanks for the feedback, I will reread later

I will probably go in this direction in the next weeks, and try to better use the new CapsLock group and get better at egg hotkeying. I assume that there will be more opportunities for control cam revival

I took a long break from SC2 (played only during WOL era). I started playing SC2 again in August and then looked around for a "professional" hotkey setup. I had always wanted to try an alternative hotkey setup to "Standard", especially since I never used camera hotkeys or more than 3 control groups. So I tried "The Core" however it had two main disadvantages for me: - It is so different to the "normal" way that I hardly got used to it - It is annoying to always switch back to other layouts whenever I play Coop and back again when I play normal games. I then discovered your adaption of "TheCore Lite" and instantly fell in love with it. It took me about a week (like 30 practice games against the AI and some "Creep or Die") to get properly used to it and start laddering again but now I can not imagine ever changing back to Standard. I am now using your hotkeys for about 3 months and I am noticeably faster and more efficient, for example by finally using camera hotkeys for harass defense. As an added bonus I noticed when playing Random a few times, that with the exact same hotkeys I am able to build all my basic structures and units without paying attention once. Great! So thanks again for your amazing work on keeping this hotkey setup alive! I recommend and will keep recommending "TheCore Lite" to anyone who is interested in hotkey setups.
