For the record, freshly-warped-in units are on 'stop', which is the default condition for any unit that hasn't been issued a command, unless you gave them a rally command while they were warping in.

Same goes for Vikings vs Mutas, corru vs collo, in fact everything that has a low fire rate. So does this mean single-target firing with Vikings, in general, is a bad idea? It is a bad idea to target fire Vikings against low-mid max hp units like mutas or pheonix. Target firing Collosus however is a good idea because it will usually take more than one volley to kill the collosus.

But I really can't get the Kas build to not die. I hate to give up on a Day9 recommended build, but being all inned all the time is tough
Same. I prefer mech vs Protoss. Mech is still very vulnerable due to energy bars on banshees and thors but it isn't as vulnerable to storms and FFs as bio. At least thors walk on FFS and have a decent range.
Alternatively, I guess one could go with a two-base version. I too can't get enough bunkers in time all the while thinking about correct placement of them, deflecting warp prism drops or proxy/obs and so on. I suspect the build was clearly meant against a Protoss that Kas knew would not 1-base all-in, which most pros don't do, while many ladder players love doing.

I use the inside of the base of my pinky a lot for CTRL if I'm in the right mindset. If I'm slower in the mind, I may press it directly with my pinky. But pressing with the edge of your palm is superior IMHO.

I guess if you predict a viking-base engagement, you can break up your vikings into two or more control groups and focus fire smaller targets with individual groups.

I did it myself vs Very hard AI...and i got 4-5 tanks with 3-4 banshees and some marines at about 9 min mark (not sure) and the enemy already has so many forces to deal with my army.
So, what time does 1-1-1 normally hit, and how many tanks/banshees are you supposed to have? I think mine is too late, because what I do is Rax, marine, tech lab, factory, and tank production. When I have a little more gas I start starport. Is this wrong?
Olorin's one bashe marine/banshee/raven/thor was my favourite but it died a lot to zealots and some other things. The strength of the build was the longevity of the thors, the blocking power of the PDD, the dps of the banshees and the numbers of the marines. It's possible to do a similar build with 2 bases. I suspect simple marine/raven/banshee pushes are more effective due to fewer problems with immortals and zealots when you have a crowd of marines than when you have thors. Cloakshees aren't bad when observers have been killed by thors but I'd be afraid to invest 200/200.

For Zergs doing an early expand build I see pros either transfer drones when the hatch completes or set both rally points to the natural. It could be map or matchup specific to which one they do. Is there any difference in efficiency if so is it significant?

Day[9] put it best. Look at it this way. Anytime you move A drone from main to natural you lose "x" in mining time. If you pull 8 drones when your nat is finished, you lose 8x in the span of about 10 seconds. If you instead rally both hatchs to the nat, you'd be losing x in mining for each drone.
The question really is would you rather lose the money right at once, or over a period of time?

Does the number change if I FE, if I expand mid term or if I expand late? Isnt Insane the one that cheats? I thought Very Hard is normal, does not cheat? Still need answer.
Yes, you are correct. Insane ai cheats with minerals (which is extremely noticeable). Very Hard ai doesn't cheat.

Does anyone know about how many real-time seconds spawn larva takes?

On January 22 2012 09:24 Funguuuuu wrote: Does anyone know about how many real-time seconds spawn larva takes?
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Game_Speed
Faster speed is 1.38x real life speed, and larvae take 40 game seconds to spawn. So, larvae take roughly 29 real life seconds to spawn.

What is the most efficient way to split army into two groups going into two directions?
What I do is move army to location 1, shift-deselect a few units and move (the still selected units) to location 2. However, right now I need to deselect each unit -- is there a faster way to deselect multiple units? (Shift box does not deselect)
My method work well to send a few units to scout in different directions, but not to split army to defend multiple attacks. Thanks!

As a Protoss, what is the fastest time I can expect a drop from Terran? What is the ~standard time?
Thank you.

Is there anyway to make the minimap bigger, or at least look bigger? I have issues with how small the minimap is and how i really cant see anything on it.

Please help me get back into the metagame. I haven;t played sc2 in over 5 months and I haven`t been folowing tournaments or streams, I`ve mostly been playing BW and Lol, I need some good builds to get back into things and any warnings about what could be happening in game.

There is no in-game setting to make the minimap bigger relative to the rest of your screen, but if you get a larger monitor then the minimap will be bigger than it was on the smaller monitor.

Mon, are you farsighted? This could be an eyesight issue and you may need to wear glasses/contacts, otherwise, being able to look at the minimap is just a skill that takes time to develop. If you at least keep trying to look at it, you'll start getting used to it and be able to use what it tells you.

I am Bronze Terran looking for 1 build against each race (3 builds total) to practice and master in order to help my macro skills! I am determined to get better at SC2!

I've never had eye problems, though on the retrospect I've never gotten my eyes checked in a while From my perspective the squares indicating a base building (hatchery, nexus, CC) looks less than a cm in length EDIT: After looking at a ruler (lol) it's actually less than half a cm in length

Good! Go to Day9 archives and find Terran Week (#394-396) and Very Easy TvP by Empire.Kas (#399). They are macro-heavy without being simplified training builds (like the marine-only builds). The TvP and TvZ builds include an early third. You're probably better off learning to defend that right away as opposed to needing to learn your macro in gold or plat. With macro builds you basically need to learn to hold early aggression from players who are getting fewer bases than you and are often one-basing. On the other hand, if you do hold them off, they're basically dead.
Using 1 and the same build for every match-up isn't actually a bad idea (for practicing your mechanics, you'd go three-rax every game, for practicing your macro, you'd do a version of standard marine-tank-medivac-viking), or at least three builds that start from the same opening, so that you can maximise your practice with it (at the cost of not having a tailored build for every matchup).
