Should I keep my zealot at home or bring it with my stalker to pressure? I feel bringing only the stalker would be easier to micro and leaving the zealot to prevent scouting lings from getting in would be better. Should I try to pressure zerg at all with the stalker if I scout him getting gas? I don't want to lose a stalker to speedlings. If i should try to pressure, what is the usual time I should pull back to my base before speed finishes? If Zerg takes an early third base off my two gate expand, I will generally add some more gateways, a robo facility, a twilight council, and expand myself while pressuring his third base with +1 attack upgraded units. Is this the right response, or is there something else that other people do? ty for any responses ![]()

SO many of them. They were actually pretty nice...they have low hp but their dps is unbeievable.. And I know mass hellions may work, but its not cost effective. I dont like using tanks. Any other solutions? Im concerned with hydras...they are strong, but weak in HP. thors. ghosts with snipe as well if you have quick hands. Thanks Any more ? I used thors, but they get damaged pretty fast too. And is it really true thors 1 shot hydras? 3 upgraded thors right? No, that is horrible advice from Ganseng. That'll only work in small numbers, where 1 Thor can attack 3 hydras at the same time. However, in mass numbers, the hydralisks will win because multiple layers of hydralisks can attack 1 thor layer at a time since thors are so much bigger. Sorry you'll have to use tanks. Mass marine/medivac works as well, it is a soft counter. Also, hellions are cost efficient, if we're talking about pure hellion vs pure hydra. But obviously you will need more supply. pls don't misinform people. hydras and thors trade at a ratio of ~ 15 to 1 Just tested; untrue. 5-6 hydras can kill a thor. The better counter is tanks, hellions, and marine/maurauder medivac. EDIT: not so viable, but bcs and banshees work well. lol. if you attack a colossus with 20 lings, it'll also turn out that lings counter colossi.

Was it always like this? What kind of cliffs can Collosi not climb? Or, is this something new? I dont' remember this happening until recently.

Colossi can't walk up dual-level cliffs, i.e. on Shakuras Plateau, maybe that's the problem?

Get at least 3 observers out. One scouting his main, one scouting his army and one covering the most common surface area for Medivacs to come from. Leave your mobile units such as the Stalkers in your main. You can also place some scouting proxy pylons arround the map but they can easily get sniped obviously.

1v1 Ladder Maps Xel'Naga Caverns (2) Abyssal Caverns (4) Antiga Shipyard (4) Metalopolis (4)* Nerazim Crypt (4) Shakuras Plateau (4) Tal'darim Altar LE (4) The Shattered Temple (4)* *Close-by-ground spawn positions disabled. Is this still accurate as of today? Every time I play Shakuras, it seems like that close-by-ground spawn position is also disabled.

). In my experience, a few pylons always die but most stay up, and the info they give me is WELL worth the 300 mineral or so I lose each game.I tend to get charge first off twilight because it makes such a huge dif, but many opt for a quick blink for mobility so you can stop drops easier. The worst is when they harass u and fly off not losing a single troop. Blink is the bane and downfall of many a medivac. Once mid-late game hits, I tend to get an obscene amount of gateways with my extra $ (13-18). This way, you can simply warp in tons of stalkers and zealots to clean up drops in seconds. put some at each base, not all at ur main. DT's make excellent drop defense, as well as a HT. HT can feedback teh medivac, often killing it, and stll have energy for a storm. Lastly, once you are rolling in dough off 3-4 bases, don't be shy with a few cannons protecting pivotal perimeters, and although i prefer spotter pylons some areas aren't pylon friendly so an observer is pivotal there too. sometimes a simple pylon on the edge of your base gives you that extra couple seconds of reaction time too. - 2 Base Roach - 2 Base Hydra - 2 Base Infestor/Ling - 2 Base Infestor/Roach - 2 Base Muta/Ling/Bling I guess in 3 bases I need to take all the gases?

It all depends. Generally if you're going for a macro game you want to stick on one gas for awhile. Once you have your minerals saturated you want to drop either 3 more for strategies like roach/infestor or ling/bling/muta. Alternatively if you're going for a two base timing with roaches you can get three gasses. But the main thing to consider is your drone count. If you have a lot of minerals coming in, drop your gasses so you can keep teching. But you dont want to commit 9 more drones to mining gas until you have plenty of minerals. On three base generally you take your 5th and 6th gasses immediately.

You can still get both close-by-air and cross spawns. I'm pretty sure that close-by-ground is also close-by-air on that map?

I lose to it even if I know it's coming, I never get to kill the probe before it puts all 4 pylons in my base. Thanks in advance =)

Assuming that is what you are asking, If your gateways are warpgates, then hit "W" then ctrl+whatever # group you want them on (ex: hit w, then ctrl+1) If they are still gateways, then the fastest way to select them all is to hold ctrl and click on a gateway, which will select all gateways on screen On November 28 2011 01:46 Fede wrote: How do you stop the old good 4gate involving 10gate into only gathering 50 gas for waprgate reasearch into placing 4 pylons in enemy base into warping a million freaking zealots in the freaking enemy mineral line? I lose to it even if I know it's coming, I never get to kill the probe before it puts all 4 pylons in my base. Thanks in advance =) Try chronoboosting out a stalker and killing the probe. The probe is the crux of this strategy as lots of zealots are fairly easy to handle with a sentry and a ramp. If any pylons get up, then you most likely lose or take so much damage that you will lose later in the game. You MUST kill the probe before it builds pylons in your base.

I am usually the one who goes a macro oriented opening like FFE in PvZ or PvT 1 gate FE or 15 nexus. I get chessed all the time and it just sucks the energy out of me. Is there any way to deal with it other than taking breaks? Should I start playing cheesy also? Try playing with some safer macro-oriented builds like a 3-Gate Expo. A 1-Gate FE or 15 Nexus are both extremely risky builds, almost classified as economic cheeses because of how far ahead it puts you against a standard build. 3 Gate Expo vs Zerg and 3 Gate Robo vs Terran should give you enough units to defend early cheeses and give you a way to put on some pressure should you see an opening.
