Either behind the mineral line, to prevent scouts/raiders from running through there (and missing a chance to block them with drones), or at one end of the mineral line, to prevent hellion/ling run-bys going in one end and out the other. Protoss can do the same thing with pylons/warpgates, since the units don't spawn on them anyway.

This is a guess but to get a more accurate timing go back into the replays and compare to the build you're doing. Oftentimes stim timing or when you usually move your expansion to your expo is a good time to check what your opponent is doing. This is more general about scouting but whenever you do a big move out or take an expansion is a good time to suicide a marine, check out their army composition, scan their base check out the tech. check all the expansion with a marine, keep control of towers. Theres lots of general things you can do to keep tabs on your opponent which then gives you time to respond appropriately.

Generally not, no as your probe will be shooed by the first or second marine. But the good thing about any kind of gasless build is that just getting a stalker gives you map control, they delay their concussive and marauders so you can use your first stalker to poke at the front of their base and a look for proxies and then go into a 1-gate Fe. If your stalker catches him moving out with more marines than you expected then you can cancel the expansion and retreat up your ramp with a sentry until additional gateways finish which is why 1-gate FE builds often go stalker, stalker, sentry.

Long explanation: I was messing around in 2v2 with a friend who is much better than I am, and he had a bunch of marines, medivacs, and tanks... I had a combination of roaches and lings with upgrades and I was harassing the opposing zerg player by contaminating his main and swooping in with mutas. I saw nothing that my untrained eye could interpret as the following. All of a sudden, they roll up with about 12 colossi with a sizable support army of stalkers and zealots, along with something like 12-15 ultras, plus an absolute TON of hydras and probably some other composition as well. I don't think their entire army could fit on my screen. Anyway, they rolled through my gold exp and didn't even hesitate melting through all of our units. I actually had felt pretty good about my macro during that game and was pretty dumbfounded by how outproduced we were. (Partner was masters 1v1 Protoss playing as random)

How do pro's deal with the "Ctrl" button, it's just too awkward for me to use as is. Also regarding hot keys, are your fingers supposed to reston the 1,2,3,4 or a,s,d,f. Thanks!

I believe you're going to want to shift-click the unit when you have the control group selected and then rehotkey the rest of the group so the deselected unit is no longer in the control group.

While tal'darim is well suited to FFE, it doesn't in any way force you to FFE, in fact I feel like a 1 gate expand then 2 gates at the natural could be really effective on that map because of the small level choke leading to your natural, try find some vods of Sase or Tyler playing that map as they generally also dislike FFE in sc2. If you don't scout him first always put your 2nd pylon near your main nexus minerals, some players like to send out an extra probe to be safe, but others are more confident in just throwing up the cannon at their main, sacrificing the forge and initial pylon and microing with probes until the cannon finishes.

I just watched Bomber vs MVP match 1 (it was spotlighted by gomTV) Bomber did a ghost first build, but in a weird way. Does anyone have a link to a thread/replay where this strategy is explained/demonstrated properly? I've been toying around with it myself (platinum terran) cause I think It's a fun and viable build. But I'd like to see how I should do I properly. Instead of surprising worse players and winning just because they don't know how to counter I rather win because I outplay them using this strategy.

Not sure what other information you're looking for, but the build he does is very similar to http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Ghost/Marine_Opening he gets combat shield instead of stim pack which is reasonably standard in TvT now \, MMA also did a VERY similar push on the same map against marine king in the Super Tournament GomTV GSL Super Tournament 2011 Ro4 MMA vs MarineKing Prime Game 1 The only difference is that he gets a 2nd barracks before starting his ghost academy. Unfortunately I couldn't find any replays, but I hope at least something out of this helps.
