+ Show Spoiler +As seen done by GoldenfOu vs. ST_GgoBooGie in GSL 3. Golden failed hard, but fear not, he made a crucial mistake making an evo chamber instead of a spawning pool and failing to recognize it right away.
Been away from my gaming computer this thanksgiving, but thought I'd recommend this build for a few people to try out. I myself will be giving it a shot when I get back in action.
Da' Build Drone to 10 10/10 send drone to location near other base/just near Xel Naga Tower @300 mins hatchery! 9/10 pool 10 ovie 100% pool queen at proxy hatch Rally lings to protoss ramp 100% queen, inject >> to protoss ramp
Micro to great victory!
If timed correctly, the protoss will barely be able to get a sentry by the time 10+ lings hit a standard gate/core opening. It might also perform well against a protoss who blindly goes forge first with the intent of cannoning my ramp and expanding behind (in which case I might keep the queen at the proxy for more injects while keeping all the lings I could alive)
I'm not sure how viable this is, but I'm always open to adding new builds (including cheeses) to my arsenal. Anyone try this or have any thoughts on it?

You should put GSL results into spoilers before more people read this

You can also proxy hatch behind his rocks and do a mass Roach build or a queen/spine crawler push.

sounds fucking awesome, and now i wanna try it....

If you really wanna go ALL IN with it you can send drones to mineral walk though and the attack the zealot from behind and get a slightly better surround, along with your queen picking at it from range. Just one more trick to help break that zealot wall just a bit faster and let your lings wreak havok.

i have actually proxyed many times on xel naga and it is pretty good lol

It was insanely good but now with slow queens it's not that hard to stop anymore.

This is such a creative build... I love it! Zerg cheeses beyond 6 pool are soooo limited but things like this just show how innovative the sc community is

+ Show Spoiler [Discussion about the game in GSL] + I think he made the evolution chamber because he wanted to pretend he was doing a normal build but he didnt have the money to build a spawning pool at that time so he build a evolution chamber hoping to fool the protoss. That's just my thought on it.

Can you post any replays you have successfully done?

+ Show Spoiler +I agree, i think he did not want the protoss to react by walling off immediately or something of that sort, so he made the evo chamber first.. idk if it really fooled him though.. it would only work if the protoss didnt bother to click on the building as he was running the scout around
either way, im DEFINITELY gunna try this build sometime.. it looks like a sick way to kill some nubs who don't know how to react to a queen at their front :D

you guys are looking at the wrong thing, explanation in spoilers below to not spoil gsl result
+ Show Spoiler + goldenfou messed up(imo), but it has nothing to do with the evo chamber. the evo chamber was put down to confuse his opponent, but goldenfou screwed up by creating a drone between the evo chamber and spawning pool.
this is the timeline in the replay.
75 minerals Goldenfou creates evolution chamber(down to 0 mins) 80ish minerals Goldenfou starts a drone?(down to 30ish mins) 125 minerals Goldenfou destroys the evo chamber and has exactly 200 minerals 200 minerals create spawning pool
the timing of the canceling of the evo chamber shows that the evo chamber wasn't a mistake and was just part of his strategy.
however, imo, he made a big mistake by building that drone, because the drone pushed the creation of the spawning pool back, and everything would've come earlier without the drone.
there's the possibility that this is a practiced build and that he needs that extra drone to have enough money to do it...but i think building that drone after the spawning pool wouldn't set his economy back too much and would lead to the spawning pool coming out much earlier... in addition, i'm guessing that this isn't a practiced build because his micro was kinda poor in that game...sending all of his lings to attack the zlot, rather than just 2-3 at a time and using the rest to hit the gateway...not waiting for the queen, which, i think would've caused him to win... not using drones to move through the zlot to attack it from before(by using the mineral trick with an overlord to scout the minerals). etc.
