Lost Training Temple
The concept of the map combines the Lost Temple with an advanced micro arena system that attempts to replicate scenarios often found in league games. The map has a 1v1 region as well as a micro arena region.
The aim of the map is to vastly improve unit control skill and multi-tasking skill, and more importantly, force the player into an extremely aggressive mentality. The goal of the trainer is to build USEFUL apm as opposed to random clicking often found in other trainers.
There are three things you need to do simultaneously in this map:
1. Manage a 1v1 fight on Lost Temple. 2. Defend your micro arena base from harassment 3. Attack the enemy micro arena base by harassing
To host the map yourself, you will need a practice buddy. Follow the instructions:
1. Create Custom Game 2. Under the tab, choose "Popular" 3. In the search box, put in "Lost Training Temple" 4. Scroll through the results, and some where near the middle, you will find a 4 player map called "Lost Training Temple" by Griffith 5. (Optional) To help make the map more popular, click on "Open to Public" before starting
The map is still in BETA stages, so there additional balances are forthcoming, but the current state will be more than ample to help you boost APM. If you can help me out and want to boost your own apm and provide feedback, message Griffith.583 on US.
Note that I'm primarily looking for Diamond League players, ideally 500+ points.

That sounds really good for people wanting to improve APM and micro, many of them are the most common situations (like me needing micro on MM with blings/lings) cant wait for it to get on SEA

The map is temporarily called lost temple advanced, and is currently on private mode until more testing is done. So far, 9 levels have been made, mainly for terran micro - so diamond terran players, please add me !

Theres a serious lack of APM training maps, (at least that i can find) so this will be welcomed :D

arena ideas:
banshee vs marine viking vs voidray inching tanks forward+scan (to simulate TvT tank v tank skirmishes)
or just go a whole 'nother direction and just make the unit chasing you slowly faster as the game goes on?

Oh, and the 1v1 part, is it just playing against a CPU?
Or will it be two human players, each having to also control their own separate micro arenas?
An option to do either would be the best, IMO.

Those small scale battles are nice, but later on I think you'll want to create situations. For example, Fend off a 6 pool rush with 3 x 2 zerglings coming in approximately 25 seconds after, while you only have 12ish probes and a pylon. That seems like more like an anti-cheese training but the micro required to prevent a huge amount of probe loss can be considered to be APM training.
Later on larger battles would be preferable to. Plus have different terrains, not just have them all in one big flat field (I dunno if you did that, haven't played the map yet)
I can give you match up ideas later, but here are a few examples.
[Toss matchups] Zealot, Sentry and Stalker VS 2 marines and 3 marauders. (common early push experienced by PvT)
2 phoenixes, 3 zealots, 2 sentries, 2 stalkers, VS 20 speedlings and 5 mutalisks. (mutalings are sooo common in PvZ)
[Terran matchups] 2 ghosts, 8 marines, 5 marauders VS 2 immortals, 6 stalkers and 5 zealots. (very standard mid-game comp for toss)
4 red hellions vs 20 regular zerglings
[Zerg matchups] 5 roaches vs 4 zealots, 2 stalkers
2 corrupters, 4 mutalisks, 10 hydras and 20 lings, vs 2 collosi, 8 zealots, 8 stalkers.
Yea I kinda got carried away but I'm just moving in a direction from pure apm training to actual battle simulations. I think it's funner that way and it still practices your APM

I would love something like this to practice when I'm not up for laddering (quite often), so I can improve without all the nervousness involved.
I have a problem with the quoted part of the OP, particularly the part in bold. You'd have to be very careful and precise about how you define wasteful apm. Clicking twice or more really close to each other shouldn't be automatically tagged as wasteful because it can be necessary for precise control of units a lot of the time.
I also have a suggestion for the arena -- put in some worker harassment scenarios where you must either defend harassment or instigate it. Worker losses could be used to determine success or failure, as well as whether or not you survive the encounter.

sooo this is a terran micro training map? Other than the probe, you only micro terran units?

Nope, I originally made levels only for terran as they are the easiest from a trigger perspective - all races will be included! You will be able to do all sorts of cool things (to be revealed next release)!

I really hope you implement it that it's player vs player. Similiar to as Micro Tourney in bw. With a possible offline mode thing.
My toss ideas are:
3 stalkers + 2 zealots vs 4 stalkers 5-6 stalker vs 5-6 stalker (as mentioned) collosis + zealot vs blink stalker pheonix + stalker vs pheonix + stalker
pheonix vs mutas + queen zealot/stalker/sentry vs roach/sling templar + zealot (maybe a sentry) vs hydras collosis + sentry vs hydra
Collosis + stalker vs Viking + marine/marauder zealot vs marine zealot + stalker vs thor + scv templar + zealot vs marine + marauder
I would also like to test the map; Susimaka.445, but yeah, I really think you should add a vs player feature.

Just added over 150 combinations across 3 races, protoss will spawn only protoss units, zerg only zerg, terran only terran, etc.

+1 this map is legit hard (low diamond player). I would say 125+ legit APM at the very least to manage everything on a decent level. Very nice map!

Just played a match with my bud on this last night. Totally sick map. I was losing in the micro arena 5-2, but was able to get a forge fast expand 6 gates, robo bay, and stargate. Tried to go up the ramp but there were seige cannons, so I droped a warp prism and made a back door.
Really fun map, and I will definately be sharing it with more people.

Im 2000+ Diamond Zerg, 140~ APM Player in average. I love APM based map so Im positive that this will be just something for me!  Pl0x go EU!

2300+ Zerg here. Anyways. things i think u need to change.
-Change the map to Metal, It's currently considered the most balanced map on the pool and it's great for a bunch of different games when you get different spawn position. Lost temple is horrible for the ZvT MU aswell, It's like creating this game on Steppes of war, just as bad.
-more than 2 watcher spots should be 8+
-BUG, You sometimes get the gas from the top base
- The top base waves are bad, 8 marines should always win over 1 queen and some drones. same with 8 banelings with a drop over 2 banshees. You should make the waves more linear. Also there needs to be less workers mining in the top bases cuz u can put 2 marines in the line and 1 roach + 2 lings arn't going touch those 2 marines while a maurauder and a marine can do alot vs a queen and drones cuz u have to pull the drones off to defend. losing your mining time.
