So, wandering workers attributes to most of the 'back n' forth' feeling? SC2 eco already works similarly but only in the more bases=more income aspect. Z will usually be able to have 16 workers per base across his multiple bases compared to P and T who usually stick to less bases with higher saturation count.
There is a ton of attributes that contribute to the back and forth feeling. Defenders advantage via terrain and reinforcement distance are very notable. Even games are generally more back and forth. BW its simply harder to roll someone over when you have an army advantage more so because of defenders advantage. Eco plays a part (that SC2 doesn't have), but I think a minor one comparatively.
Think how easy busting up a ramp is in SCBW compared to SC2.

the Defiler and the Lurker still can not be have their command card keys re-bound. They are not in the hotkey menu. Playing on Fighting spirit, In their place is the viper and swarm host.'
Is their something I can do on my end? I have tried resetting to defaults making a 2nd and 3rd hotkey profile. Nothing seems to help b/c the lurker and defiler are simply not there in the menu.

can you post the full map name you are playing on, who published it and what server you are playing on.

Are you able to play against the ai on these maps?
I have tried looking for a answer to that question but the only thing i find is an old drop box link to a mod.

Short answer is yes, you can. But, really, the AI is made for SC2 and not this mod, so it is pretty (really) stupid. Anyway, please make sure you play the SC2BW maps published by MavericK. The rest are out of date, unofficial, and unsupported.

Hello, I need help. I recently played a SC2BW map by Maverck on the SC2 Arcade and was very impressed. I then looked online and found more maps that for some reason aren't on the Arcade, but are also by Maverck. I downloaded them and tried to launch them, but they wont work.
PROBLEM DETAILS: I downloaded (The link at bottom of post. Is there a more recent version?) and put the mod files and map files in the correct folders, opened the editor, loaded a SC2BW map, checked to make sure it had the correct dependencies, and launched the Test Document(Ctrl+F9). When the game launches, I am a player, except I have no base and the whole map is black (because I have no units) The maps I have tried all have start positions, but they aren't working for some reason. I have put pre-placed units on the map, and they seem to work fine except...
OTHER SYMPTOMS: Siege tanks don't make any noise when they shoot.(all other sounds are fine) When building in progress, some buildings have the (No model, black and grey sphere) The name "SC2BW_-_Othello"(one of the downloaded maps) is taken on the english domain for maps, yet it doesnt exist on the Arcade or custom maps, WTF?

so very good news with the 2.0.10 patch
they've added two features which DRASTICALLY reduce the amount of effort/time it takes to update a map/mod on all realms. i'll have to check it out and see just how much easier it makes it, but it should take a huge huge weight off the burden of updating this mod.

I've played a few games of this, onegoal and starbow. it's really fun to have all these versions of starcraft to be honest. not sure which i like best. anything without auto-deathball is step forward though.
I've published some maps with 300 supply. Just look for 'hots 300' in custom maps and they'll come up in any server.

Have a go, they are fun. Maybe the OP could find something useful for sc2 broodwar as well.

Hello, any plans on making a map-rotation obs map? One for Team Games and one for solo. Since you can post on all regions at once, I think it'll be SUCH a great idea. I could always pull some people in as well. Obs map would mean that you could have many people playing at once too. Perhaps pair up with icculuslizard?
Also, I can make some BW maps if you want as well.

The SC2 engine was designed for 200/200 armies clashing. It will literally bump up the minimum specs required.
The reason team games are not absolutely terrible for fps drop (though they certainly are dropping fps more often than 1v1) is because players don't have multiple giant balls of units on screen at the same time. Just as well, its not like you have each player building the same economy a 1v1 player would be able to due to the map.
I think a smarter fix would be adjusting economy (doesn't benefit expanding as much as BW) and giving each race the ability to defend multiple bases via some sort of defenders advantage. In SC2 you technically could mass expand to 4 bases pretty quickly, though you simply cannot defend, you'd be waaaaaay too spread out. This isn't BW where you could wall with two depots and fight off 14 dragoons with a single tank. You've got blinking stalkers, huge numbers of super mobile medivacs, reapers that jump up cliffs, warps ins, muta clouds etc.

i'd thought about it before but not sure i have the time to overhaul the mod and develop a major feature like that right now. i recall getting a message from one of the guys doing one of those obs maps in the past but discussion didn't continue past the first message or two. im not very good at the human interaction part of life lol.
maps would always be great but i really need to sort out and sync all the servers so i can make use of this multi-region publishing thing they added.
