Hey, this mondragon vs sen game made me want to see more sc2bw action, I contacted chill to see if he can organise a 50$ sc2bw showmatch (money from my pocket of course ^^ ). I hope he'll read my PM, that would be pretty cool, if we can find 2 ex bw players ( i think morrow said he would play in a showmatch like this) Also ,if any of you would like to participate to the prizepool we could make it a bit more interesting for the pros, so PM me if you are .
edit: also if you have some ideas of streamers and players that could do this kind of thing in case Chill can't do it , that would help me.

If you can't get any of the real "famous" people (like chill or hotbid) to cast/host/whatever your event, you could contact Sayle. He streams BW quite a lot and commentates some tournaments. His knowledge is good and he's funny/entertaining :D

+ Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler + implementing a form of global ranking. it's not perfect. i didn't really want to implement this way but no other option right now. the flaws of this system is it works virally. you will only be as upto date corresponding to how much you play. you will import so to speak all players off your opponents rankings and he will grab yours. merged together to form a new ranking. so to clarify. the only people that will show up on your ranking will be people you have played with and who they have played with and so on, obviously this means you wont get 100% accurate or upto date rankings. but it will be close and the more you play the more accurate it will be.
|
So how do you see the ranks? maybe a seperate SC2BW RANKS map? so you see your ranks there? or how do you see it
|
it'll just be in any map while your playing you can view them problem is atm im not sure how im going to save 1000 players info for the ranking. even saving just top 20 is alot of information and i might hit a limit for the amount of values i can save.

Hi MavercK. Been following this mod for ages, I love it.
Can you please upload the latest maps on SEA if they aren't already?

Is it possible to replace the models of the units in through MPQ editing to do things like SC2 Carrier to the Carrier in this map, Stalker to Dragoon, etc.?
If possible, could you explain how? Whenever I try to do model replacements on my own I end up having a unit with a wierd team-colored glow around it.

you'd have to replace textures aswell, not just models.

Um I have a question. If i'm correct, when zerglings surrounded in sc1, they make a rectangle around the building/unit, instead of circling the building/unit. Is that possible to do?

Sorry for double posting. Um, i have another inquiry. It's that in sc2bw, the view of the buildings (eg. barracks) slightly different angle from sc1. i'd get a screenshot, but i cant play sc2 rite now, so... i'll just describe. for example barracks: in sc1 the view was from more of the side angle but in sc2bw the view is from a bit more upward position. Is there a way to change to angle more like sc1, without affecting gameplay?

SC1 is a 2D game with art that gives the illusion of depth. there wouldn't be any way to slant buildings no. it would not look correct at all. one person had a suggestion to change the angle of the camera, but i thought it was too much. game looked weird and it was far easier to hide units behind cliffs/buildings/doodads
as for zerglings surrounding in a square thats because sc1 used rectangular collision boxes. sc2 uses a radius. this cannot be changed

i think i broke air unit stacking btw, looking into it.
confirmed, simple number problem seems radius and distance are on completely different scales probably wont hotfix just for this. so much to update for such a small change >_<

making some changes to the Dragoon model alot of people complain and i agree with them, it looks more like a spider. skinny long legs. so i'm trying to fatten him up abit.
looking for opinions. kgo!
