it's fairly tedious, i dunno, the problem is theres probably 2-3 versions up on KR right now, you publishing would be a 4th, it's a mess just like EU

there's a hunters 0.95, the other maps are 0.96.

the worst part is if blizzard ever allow cross realm map publishing im not going to be able to get these old versions removed tried for months to get the outdated version of BGH removed from NA they dont read reports at all i guess.

did a small update wanted to get it out before CSL has it's KOTH (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=247236) will release it for other realms tommorow

Weird problem I found. Don't know if you are already aware of this.
Morphing a lair actually gives zerg an extra 1 supply. So when zerg has 4 overlords + 3hatcheries zerg is supposed to be at x/35 supply. Morphing a lair makes it x/36. x/35 is the proper supply even with a lair. I know this from 3hatch muta builds that stop at 35/35 and 57/59.

so im struggling with map popularity.
maybe some sort of rewards system? i dunno, what do you guys think it needs? obviously more people playing, but how to achieve that. playing around with some fun stuff now as im pretty happy with how the entire game works and plays out for now.
8 direction movement is still a very long way off and im not going to get anywhere near implementing it unless i get help from someone extremely experienced in game engines and pathfinding (the algorithim works, but making units use it? heh. then what about queued orders? blows my mind i dont even know where to start with this)

well just played two games, was quit funny but the stats doesnt get saved and i could not chose in begin the bw restrictions! and next game my friend hosted and he could chose (for me the only difference to a normal game was the stats buttom near the minimap)

there are 2x ratings for EZMode and HCMode also saves match up statistics sounds like you played one game on ezmode and one on hcmode play another game and it will load your stats (it should )

I've been following most of you're post for a while, and i'm a huge fan of SC2BW. I really want to help this mod gets popularity and I think I have some goods suggestions to say.
First, let's examine the situation : + Show Spoiler +During one year you have recreate BW in the Galaxy Editor. With the help of Gna you have great model of older units. Today, the mods is almost complete, all it's miss is some units models ( Devourer...it's not a corruptor), some building model ( The Defiler's building is a baneling nest, and the Shield battery is a Dark Shrine ) and the only mechanics that miss is the 8 direction unit movement. We can say that the mod is Almost complete.
In one year, this mod has found some incredible opportunity to grow. First of all, the TL page has now 170 pages, a really decent and beautifull first post and a great creator that work hard for this mod. You have the HUGE luck that the very First TL Attack has wanted to try your mod and make it a stable part of the show. Some great match has been play in TL attack, to the point were even Day9 ( THE personality of Starcraft) know this mod and even have done a Daily on it ( Even if he discover a huge flaw...).
No other custom game have done the Half of what SC2BW have done. Those that are more popular doesn't have the same level of exposure as you.
But what's next ?
I think it's time for SC2BW to think big. Really big. But it all come down to you, MavercK. It's you're mod, and you can lead it to wherever you want.
As I have read in most of you're post, you want this game to have great player fighting each other and casual player to have a great fun. This is what you have to aim for. You have recreate the game, and now everyone can experiment it. These conditions are excellent for this mod to expend.
My idea is to gain more visibility on the SC community. This is what is really hard, and what you should aim for, not just add "some sort of reward system" and other things. My idea is difficult to translate in english, since my first language is french, but maybe by saying some idea that result of the general idea you'll understand:
+ Show Spoiler + 1: Post video of games on Youtube, (have some commentators for a plus-value) 2: Contact other SC website for adding a section about SC2BW 3: Organize somes tournaments that will be streamed online ( the CSL SC2Bw was a good start) 4: Contact some Brood War player ( known or unknown) to come and show off their skill. 5: etc
GAIN SOME VISIBILITY ! This is the idea! TL is one of the best website, but just this isn't going to promote SC2BW to a very high level.
All of this is a lot of work, so make sure you have a plan. something like this: + Show Spoiler + For the next month : -The number of game should rise by 5% -Two of my friend are very good at BW, make sure to post their SC2BW games on Youtube -Edit the TL Page to include a link of my youtube channel -Contact the author of AStarcraftWebsite.com and bring the idea of having a section about SC2BW and add some replay of the best match. -Contact the commentator of TL Attack and propose them to have a good BW player waiting for the Star player to make a game. -etc
I think you get my point. Maybe i'm wrong and you doesn't want this. Anyhow I have to leave for now.

also thanks for the suggestions, it's about on par with what i want to do  what i would really like to do is stream. unfortunately my internet is not the greatest being australian best bitrate i could stream at is about 300kb/s i noticed TLO's stream when i set it to 240p it was actually really really nice. you couldn't read any text, but it was suprisingly clear and you could see units easily (unlike goms free stream which looks like a water painting using a bucket)
but then again he probably had R1CH whip up some crazy good settings that he wont share

I've been trying to setup a showmatch, but unfortunately i'm too short on time to organize it properly . If someone can find a way to have a featured streamer+2 decent ex bw players to do a showmatch I would sponsor it with 50$, unfortunately I can't do more .

I have some free time so I could definitely help. Anyone have any suggestions for possible players/casters that may be up for it? I can pop off a couple emails once I know who everyone would like to see.

Day[9] thinks BroodWar is the best game on Earth, why not talk to him about playing/casting a showmatch ? And we are on Teamliquid.net, as far as I know Liquid'Tyler was a beasty beast at BW

hes extremely busy i've pm'd him twice on here and he hasn't replied i dont think day9 is an option sadly

I sent Day[9] and Tyler emails, let's hope they get back at me! Assuming they both say yes, depending on whether Day wants to cast or play, we'll need another player/caster. Any more suggestions?

Nononononononononono ! Don't contact Day9 ! I mean sure we can contact him, but all hopes should not been on his side. It's like a " play based on hopes". He can help if he wants but SC2BW should not rely on him. What if he doesn't want to help ? He is extremely busy, actually he is trying to make his show profitable. He has WAY too much to think for caring about a mod.
It's time for the player and creator of SC2BW to stop to think the way of " My remake is awesome, so it should become popular by itself". Even if you have the best product in the world, it doesn't mean it will sell by itself.
I dunno how to say it properly, but SC2BW should kick his ass and start promoting itself the proper way, by himself. It should not wait for someone famous to talk about it. Sc2BW was very, very, VERY lucky about TL attack and Day9, but maybe such occasion will never happen again.
MavercK, what I think is that you should take some time thinking about what is your goal with this. What will truly make you happy to have work this hard. I'm not you, nor anyone in this thread. Only YOU know what will make you happy.
But...I'm still a player of this mod, so without me and all of the other, this mod is simply a amout of code that is doing nothing. I have an idea : Why not ask the communauty what they want for this mod. Each one of us can post a post to say what they want with this mod.
It's good because it will give us some direction to work. Instead of saying "This mod should be popular", we can say " I think tonight we should do X" and it will indirectly rise the popularity.
This is not just a simple post "hey it's will be cool if...". MavercK, you should edit the first post of this thread to include, in RED, VISIBLE, UNDER THE BANNER , a message that say something like this:
"Hey everyone, this mod is almost complete. We want that you help us trying to find what to do next. What will make you very happy to see SC2BW?"
