I find HoTS a lot more entertaining but that could be partly because it's new. Nevertheless, I think that the HoTS changes generally tend to encourage "scrappy" play, where lots of stuff is happening all over the map, which is, IMO, a good thing.
To be is to be the value of a bound variable.

If Hots ZvP doesn't end in BL&infestor, then it will certainly be more entertaining than WoL.

How can you possibly pick "Not enough information."
The question is:
"So far, has HotS been more entertaining than WoL at the professional level?"

Even if only one game has been played, you can still answer the question. Using all of the games (regardless of how many) you've seen of HotS, have you found HotS to be more entertaining than WoL. What this poll REALLY has done is find out that 36% of people don't read carefully enough!

Also, I voted "Yes." A large amount of the entertainment value of HotS probably comes from seeing new units. It also seems better paced. Definitely not balanced well enough though.

As much as I have been watching HOTS streams, pro games, and other such stuff, I don't see much of a difference in entertainment. The new units just sort of became a part of the game, and although some may be imbalanced, I don't notice a huge difference, only that some of the matchups are just poor (TvZ, much). What makes the games exciting are the plays, not the units, and to be honest, the only "exciting" unit I have noticed is the Viper.

not enough info i guess. it seems like unit compositions are more fluid but that might be because players haven't found many optimal builds to abuse. also the matches have been seeming more exciting for the most part but that might be for the same reason. i'm also afraid blizzard will patch the game into a corner too soon for the sake of stabilizing tournament results.

it's a perfectly legit answer imo. wol is heavily saturated with content, you can watch back to back matches you've never seen before pretty much 24/7 if you've got the time. i've been highly entertained by some hots matches which has made me excited for the game, but until the last couple weeks they've been really spread out, and i've seen a fair share of awkward and boring games in hots too. likewise i'm getting wol fatigue but i still catch amazing matches from time to time and it seems fair to rank it higher by sheer force of numbers and the amount of downtime it has helped me kill.

there's also the question of how are you defining 'entertained' - the best hots matches have made it seem like the game has more push and pull, but the worst have made the players look really awkward and unsure of what they're doing. it hasn't been a uniformly better experience. if your definition of 'entertained' puts emphasis on not knowing what's coming next then obviously beta is going to be more entertaining...

took the words right out of my mouth. Can't have a "not enough information" if theres a "so far" poll option.

miles better than WoL was towards the end.
there's way more action, less macroing up and more multitasking involved in nearly all the games i've seen so far. I'm loving HotS at the moment!

Well yeah, but it's new. I wasn't around in the WoL beta for comparison. I guess we'll really know in a year's time.

man i think both are great. WoL is great because its starting to look like how BW was at the end and HoTs is great cuz its just crazy with all their random strats right now.
Iv been here for 5.5 years. My other accounts are named "Sonu" and "Dalroti" || I had some more but I cant find them XD || known in sc2 as "Sonu"

So far HotS has had the advantage of not being "figured out" and thus players have not been sticking into unit some compositions and build orders as fanatically as they've been in WoL. Especially I'm looking at PvZ where for example yesterday's #Vengeance showmatch was really entertaining back and forth match with much more action than an average WoL BL/Infestor vs Blink+Mothership WoL PvZ. Also anything that encourages zergs not to start the game by 3base droning for 10 minutes is a step to the right direction I think.

I see much of the stagnation of the last year of WOL due strictly to a non diverse map pool. I don't care if professional players like playing on the same maps, but I as a spectator get sick of it and move on.

Unless tournament organizers start to frequently change the maps (rotating out half the map pool every 6 months) I believe we will see the same stagnation for HOTS as WOL, new units be damned.

Its more entertaining because its so chaotic and we are used to the more stable meta game in the recent months. As for a year from now who knows.

Death to Daybreak. END THAT MAP.

HotS has been a blast and I think that we will see some really awesome stuff. Protoss has been hugely improved, with more air, less colossi and a lower need for forcefields across the board. Terran no longer is going straight bio, which is awesome and I am sure we will see more in the future.

But better maps are the key to the future. Every major battle does not need to happen at a base.

Dear god yes. Yeah I know, try not to get too giddy, remember WoL once looked like it had a bright future too with 2011 ZvT and bearable ZvP. Then 2012 happened, where I feel that the only match ups that aged well were TvT and ZvZ (haters gonna hate) . ZvZ in particular found itself significantly better than from where it started.

Still though, I'm optimistic that 2-3 years from now when LotV is around the corner HotS won't have fallen to the degree that WoL did. I just feel like the tools have been set in place to make HotS a more challenging game with less turtling and actual action in the early stages of the game instead of NR 8-10 min. Death balls are still here though :/

The decline of TvZ has been exaggerated very excessively. With the exception of the two months of infestor abusing TvZ t still produces a lot epic matches and series with the most recent example being Gumiho vs Losira (should go down as the best series in history of WOL). PvT has indeed stagnated but it is almost always entertaining. Only PvZ and PvP have gotten much worse (4 gate > laser wars). People are often pessimistic about WOL but in reality it produced hours upon hours of fantastic entertainment. Sure, it had its flaws but they are much smaller then people would lead us to believe.

Overall WOL was a great game and I feel that HOTS has the potential to take it to the next level.

SC2 needs intense games with lots of back and forth action with tech swaps and intelligent plays galore, you know, like BW. I don't see how they can fix the death ball syndrome without either removing the entire-army-on-1-hotkey problem, or somehow heavily enforcing small battles to happen all over the map. Something like this may be possible if there were more xel naga watch towers and if they were more enticing to hold.

The problem with sc2 has always been it's a game of extremes. Someone either just gets rolled by a rush and the game ends immediately, or we get ultra passive games that are decided by one 200 pop vs 200 pop fight. There are exceptions of course....but these boring games are what stand out the most, at least to me.

I dunno, I'm an old jaded gamer at this point and I just don't have any faith left in Blizzard, I'd love for them to prove me wrong though.
