I was riding on no one would think i'd do what you did, and on town retardedness.  Ver almost had people swap targets last minute.
For caller:
I like the idea's of roles you have had in this game(minus the role i got), but i think by trying to add all the creative roles to keep people interested you didn't notice the inbalance that was created from it. With all the mafia roles, that protect them from being found, or allowing infiltration into the town, combined with the fact DT's have to basically waste an ability to become useful, makes it harder for the town. They also don't have a way to penalize mafia for vote swinging or the like.

And this is the trap you keep falling for. The mafia know this, and they'll keep doing it.
What dont you get? As the DT you can't prove anything on Day 1, and no one else is going to out themselves to confirm you are mafia or not.
So the mafia has everything to gain by posing as a DT on Day 1. Anything they say can't be debated.
Hence, anyone who claims DT and pins someone as mafia has to be lynched FIRST if there is no third lynch option.

mikeymoo im so sorry if i did a stupid move calling to lynch midnightgaldius, but this was the best i could come to. Im also quite sure the vote rigger was planned ahead so i think this even helped us somehow.

What does the mafia keep doing? I haven't seen ONE mafia game where a mafia faked DT. In the long run it doesn't seem to benefit mafia to fake the DT in that situation. There is also only ONE thing the DT can say that can't be debated. The person he accused is mafia, we can't say hes wrong or anything until hes dead. However just because you are a DT it doesn't mean your clue analysis or behavior analysis is any better than someone else. So you only have one thing to base it all off of.
What exactly does the mafia gain from this? Besides getting a +1 kill then losing a mafia? A mild amount of town confusion that is all disregarded after one day/night cycle?

You haven't seen it because Tl.net doesn't have enough people to do it.
If you get a great player killed then it's worth 1 mafia.
If you get another mafia player killed, and no one bothers to check you all game it's worth it. Last game Qatol got Ver killed, I was the mouthpiece. Now imagine if I lied and there was no mouth piece and got the real DTs killed. Then what?
If the Fake DT gets your only jack lynched then what?
See, you guys keep thinking it won't happen because it hasn't happened yet. Seriously, a lot of TL Mafia games come down to Major bouts of luck with the exception of the first 2. Even though in Mafia 2 there were lucky/unlucky breaks none of it is like what's happened in the past few games. The reason why all the good players are targeted first is because majority of the people playing either go inactive, just don't care to play for their side to win, or just fucking suck.

Aww, not too easy please. I really think it was imbalanced towards mafia. We have just been lucky the first cycle and people being too trustworthy, and inactivity. I mean mafia had almost the best possible start, no mafia has been lynched and yet it's still anyone's game as long as towns stay active. We were just lucky that some of the best and brightest are blues. I guess maybe our blazing start just kind of demoralized some townies thinking it's mafia 4 and kinda gave up. I am pretty sure if the game is repeated with the same format, the game will be a lot different. Yep, great game.

I had two problem with this game. One, after ace/BC/camlito died, this thread was basically dead. this was suppose to be a game with no inactives but there was mad inactives. lots of people didn't vote/post. how is the town suppose to have power if half the town isn't playing.
the other problem is that the mafia already have a very good advantage and that's the fact that the town HAS NO FUCKING IDEA WHO IS MAFIA.
adding in the unknown blue/red + insane dts just makes everything super confusing. combined with moles+conversion and the town is really ducked because even if you could trust someone, they could be converted. this makes trusting even harder. why give the mafia more of an advantage?

i think too many of the prominent players keep getting owned early because everybody knows they're good is an issue. A name change sounds like a better and better idea every day.
If game is over, townies should declare gg (or mafia)

For this game, my only big complaint with caller.
Before he hosted I was intending to throw another one(i dont begrudge him at all for taking it off my hands). I do think he should have done what I was trying to do though, and gather the list of inactive players then ban them from playing. Ver offered to help, as did scara, mikey and a few others. Had he just said "hey i want to run it" then as a huge group we came up with the list of inactive to kick out, we would hopefully not be facing the same issue as now.
For next game, whoever ends up running it, sit down and talk to all the previous game hosts/and their helpers and the active active players to find who who did jack shit, then ban them from playing. That, or wait an extended period of time before rehosting so it seems new and exciting again.

LTT actually had the idea of giving everybody playing a special role that isn't very strong but isn't that of a townie. I think he wanted to do something with it.
