That could have worked as well, but inactivity is horrific =\. Aces game was pretty bad for it, mine was bad for it, this is bad for it, mafia 2, and 3 were bad for it.
We need a system to deal with it somehow or the game loses its appeal.

1 Mail man. If the mailman dies, he chooses someone to take with him.

mafia kill power = # of mafia members.
Simple and small. The town can't wait to make a secret town organization because a) few blue roles, b) not enough time to make one because the mafia will win (theoretically) in 3 days. (Since mafia wins essentially if they outnumber the town.)

See, you guys keep thinking it won't happen because it hasn't happened yet. Seriously, a lot of TL Mafia games come down to Major bouts of luck with the exception of the first 2. Even though in Mafia 2 there were lucky/unlucky breaks none of it is like what's happened in the past few games. The reason why all the good players are targeted first is because majority of the people playing either go inactive, just don't care to play for their side to win, or just fucking suck.
Like I said, we have different views on this matter, neither of us are going to change ours.
What you just suggested involves a lot of luck guessing on mafia part, they basically have to say "Okay, pick random guy, hope hes a good role and its worth my head"
I think that you are right, that a mafia could fake being a DT and out one of his own guys for trust and that no one will check him. Its a fucking BALLZY move. Requires mafia sacrifice, however I also think that after it happens one game and works, everyone will question the day 1/2 role calls.
We will learn as games progress, and for the record, most people seem to agree with my logic :D But I can see where you are coming from, I just disagree about who it benefits in whatever situation.

Caller did fine. The town did fine. Three games in a row from the mafia side has taught me the value of luck. The only reason the town is losing is being unlucky and not listening to key players. I've seen mafia members fingered on the first few days and never mentioned.
I think its very easy for mafia to lose if they are unlucky with the check lists and role checks early on.
The town 2 games ago had 50% of the mafia figured out by checklists on day 3 and then slowly let random townies aka morons guide the town into misstep after mistep.
What about making the Town-mayor and the Mafia-Godfather invincable to lynching,killing and make there roles announced. Take out the silencer. The right mayor and the right Godfather would make a very entertaining fight for the town. Only the godfather would have a full mafia list and only the mayor would have a full blue list. Let the fighting start there and cut out all the gimmicks.
Each day the mayor has a public annoucement to the town. Every member of the game is required to make at least one post daily. Things like that would make it more fun and continue that momentum that we've get on the first few days when people are still happy about their roles.
Fuck I mean the Godfather and Mayor could maybe even get to select 1 or 2 out of 5 people that they ask for be selected for their teams. Its not that hard.

I don't get why people don't like being green townie. Seriously, it means you get to post without worrying about if you're making a target of yourself, cos if you get killed by mafia at night it's taking a hit for the blues, and when you're posting as mafia you have to come across as behaving normally etc etc.
<3 Green townie. Coincidentally I've been green townie every time except one stint as mafia.
Also Attackzerg should be banned from the next few games imho after what he did with the RoL thing; directly influencing the game like that as a dead player is lame.

You don't have to have a role to be a key player. To elaborate, the fact that there is a list of players that gets checked at the beginning of every game is proof of this.

I've been gone for awhile and wow@ what's happened. I will type stuff up and respond to pm's if/when the game keeps going. Dead people derailment T_T
Caller its up to you. I think town has more than a fighting shot because 3 mafia have already died including both suicide bombers and a lot of blues are alive so I don't know why everyone's all without hope. The main/biggest issue is the inactivity, which has killed every single mafia game except 3 where there were restrictions on signups and imbalanced town killed that game instead lol.
But either way lets reach a decision so there's no more ambiguity about the game's status.

I'm completely fine with your tactics. I mean seriously everyone, at least these guys post and keep me (at least) entertained. But, it's really easy to vote for you guys if you post the way you do. You guys don't really offer any help.

I believe malongo pointed this out, but I think "white-faced beast" is a HUGE clue for a mafia member. I am going to post analysis tomorrow (when I don't have class) and its 3am right now and I want to sleep.

This reminds me of Game 1. The Town fucked itself, not the other way around. If we chose to ignore AZ, which would have been the best idea, we wouldn't find ourselves in this position.
We created it for ourselves. Nothing more, nothing less.
Caller's clues are fine. It's just that when you have two dif. groups doing clue analysis and everyone else is inactive because a few key members die on the first Day and everything you try to do fails is very demeaning. No, it is total garbage and then they blame you for the fallout.
Then again, some are on vacation so they cannot be held accountable.
So the question is: are you Townies going to throw in the towel or rise up with the rest of us?
Seriously.
A few more players just compromised their positions without any acknowledgement from Caller about the status of the game. It doesn't look good.
