You're going to need to cohost a game and get a check of approval before you can host.

I do not think Bomb artist and Tactical Air Controller are good roles. The point of medics is to prevent mafia from immediately killing all the good players and the presence of these roles will basically make medics useless or they will at least be forced to protect sub-optimal targets. I guess the bomb artist will force the other mafia team to target lower profile players, but KGB can still kill whoever they want unless medics take a huge risk. Each mafia team having only 1 normal KP helps, but I'm still not a fan.

There is also potentially huge variance as bomb artist might kill multiple blues and even other mafia every night.

Ah, I think I should have been clearer then--the Bomb Artist is a 1-shot deal. Once the bomb is used up, he becomes a normal goon.

In the same sense that we encourage newbies to play newbie games before playing in regular games, we require hosts to co-host a game and then get permission before hosting. Also, games only come out of the hosting queue in order and in a timely fashion so we don't have periods with explosions of games hosted or no games hosted.

The Dwarf Fortress Mini Mafia gave me a cool idea. Why not have a game that actually plays out like Dwarf Fortress. The game would start out with 7 players, 1 of which is a vampire. There would be reserve players who would make up migrant waves (which can also contain vampires).Instead of days and nights you have seasons, each season the fortress lynches someone and the vampires get to drain some dwarves of blood. The host would also implement random events (goblin invasions, carp attacks etc.) to add more fun.

That sounds pretty interesting. It might be difficult coordinating players to wait 72 hours after game starts to get into it, but I could see it going like this: 7 initial dwarves, of which at least one is a vampire, then a wave of 3 more that show up at the start of N1, then a wave of 3 more that arrive at the start of D2, and between the initial dwarves and the two waves there are 3 scum.

You'd definitely need to get everyone on the field by the start of D2, because a LOT of how town scumhunts is via voting history, and letting 1-2 scum get off scot-free from D1 is a huge advantage. Adding another investigative role for town, or giving them a slightly beefier blue setup, would definitely be necessary. Alternatively, you could add a rule that the scum can't kill N1 to balance out a couple scum being able to entirely dodge the D1 lynch.

I am loathe to double post but I thought of something cool and was wondering what people would think of this mechanic. I think it's better thought through than the Artosis Pylon one.

Basically you have a typical game, but there are no blue roles. Instead, each day, in addition to voting who gets lynched, Town votes to grant their blue powers to people of their choice. In a medium-small game, maybe this would be like 3 blues, 1 lynch. So as a townie you'd cast 3 votes for various players you think deserve a blue role (but not yourself) and 1 vote for a player you'd like to lynch. The top 3 role-earners each secretly select a role from the role bucket to have for the night (such as 24 hour mason recruiter, 1-shot jailkeeper, 1-shot tracker, veteran, hatter etc) which of course they can claim, and use. They get their results back at the end of the night, and a mason or Senator of course doesn't get results back and keeps their power until the end of the next day, after which it dissipates.

The entire town setup would be VTs and Mafia would have maybe a framer or a godfather but not an RB since that would be too easy to aim. The number of blue powers would decrease as the number of townies decreased, until eventually there are no more blue powers.

Thoughts? Might be too hard if mafia couldn't snipe blue roles? I think it's kind of a cool mechanic but might be a bit unwieldy with the extra elections.

I think the problem with something like that is that scum gets an auto blue snipe which will always cancel out one of the roles. Either that or all the blue pickers would choose vet and scum would be hard pressed to actually kill anyone. Also if the town happened to vote for 3 scum to get the roles scum can't kill a blue and it basically gives town three huge scum reads. Of course scum could fake this to waste a lynch. It's a set up that would have to be really carefully balanced to work well.
