Any townie that gets lynched gets to kill one of his voters (probably couldn't make this any other person, leaving it voters encourages scum to plot and makes lynching townies riskier than voting elsewhere, adds a lot of vote scrutinizing fun) Any mafia that gets lynched, same thing. I assume you'd still need mafia NK(s) to balance things out, as town could protect important players/roles by just never having them vote for the majority candidate otherwise. Could potentially have just normal roles --> cop has to out himself in order to get a red read lynched, and if he votes for the guy is dead. Medics protecting during day probably wonky, just leave em protecting at night. I don't think you'd want to add in extra-vote or vote-stealing roles, but that's a thought too. Seemed like an interesting twist to me on games with non-normal lynch mechanics like Bang Bang, while adding a layer of depth. You might have to pick amongst scummy players based on who THEY find scummy, mislynches get the chance to be awesome if they can peg scum out of their voters, etc.

Witchraft Mafia 13 Players - 10 Coven (Town), 3 Inquisition (Scum) The Inquisition: Inquisitor, Priest, Witch Hunter The Coven: 10 Acolytes The Coven The Coven wins when there are no more living members of The Inquisition. Acolyte: You are a foul witch! You have sold your soul to Satan for fleeting dominion in this mortal realm, and he has granted you great powers. However, your town has been infiltrated by three vile Inquisitors. Each day, you can cast a vote on who to lynch. Furthermore, you can channel your dark powers by casting Witchcraft votes via PM to the host. If you gain dark powers from Witchcraft, you keep them for 72 hours, and are vulnerable to The Witch Hunter during that time. Witchcraft: Each day, in addition to the normal vote, there is a secret vote done via PM to elect Blues. Each player, regardless of alignment, has X votes (See below) they can distribute as they want, but can't put more than one vote on a guy or vote for themselves. They can vote to give the power to nobody, but only with one vote. The results are secret, though of course people can claim their votes in the thread... if they want to out the blues that is :D At the start of the night, the X top winners can choose from the following pool of Powers, which they retain until the next election: Scrying - DT check works against the Inquisitor and the Witch Hunter Blaspheme - DT check works against the Pastor Curse - RB Hex - JK Cloister (x2) - Mason, pick someone and become masoned with them until the next Witchcraft ceremony Morph (x3) - Veteran Calculating number of blues: X = (T - 3) / 2 rounded up, 3 max T is townies, X is number of blues that upcoming night, and also the number of blue votes per player You start off with 3 blues. If town lynches scum, they don't get penalized for this and get extra days with more blues-- but if they lynch town, their number of blues drops off more quickly. At 1-scum LYLO or 1-scum MYLO there are no more blues. + Show Spoiler + 10 / 3 9 / 3 8 / 3 7 / 2 6 / 2 5 / 1 4 / 1 3 / 0 2 / 0 The Inquisition The Inquisition wins when there are no more members of The Coven alive, or nothing can prevent that from happening. The Inquisitor (goon): Born in a remote village in the Western Pyrenees, you were abandoned at a monastery soon after your birth. Weaned on goat milk and raised by the pious monks there, you learned a way of life that was quiet and glorious in the tending of God's domain. As you came of age, however, you felt the need to rise in the service of God. After scribing and binding a few choice biblical passages into a reader for yourself, you departed the Basque Country on a pilgrimage. You come heeding the call of The Priest, who even now does battle with The Deceiver's minions. You are armed with only your Faith and your Holy Words, but you will not falter-- no Blasphemy can harm you as long as you clutch the words of your Savior to your chest. Innocent to Blaspheme, guilty to Scrying. Can deliver KP. The Priest (godfather): Long have you lived and worked in steadfast loyalty to The Lord. In your youth you wandered the lands, a preacher without a pulpit. In time you settled down in a small town, but last year The Church relocated you to a large parish that services the town of Greysedge. As you settled in, you noticed something odd-- your people, they are afraid. Something bothers them, and some of them have dark looks in their eyes. Soon, you realize the truth-- their souls have been given over to Satan. You preach fire and brimstone, you call upon the sinners to repent, but your words fall on deaf ears. You have hope, though, for you were once a wanderer and you know who to contact for help. The Church promises to send two young preachers to help you root out the infidels. You spend your days in the sanctified church building, but in your old age you often do not carry Holy Pages with you. Innocent to Scrying, guilty to Blaspheme. Can deliver KP. The Witch Hunter (two-shot blue vigi): Most inquisitors think of themselves as hardened souls who stand fast against the darkness, but they don't know what darkness is. Many inquisitors die or retire before facing what you've faced. They choose the quiet life of ministry and silent faith. Who could blame them? You were never that sort. Your fate calls you to ever darker paths, to lands where your soul alone is the dim hope for God and Humanity. You have unearthed and sent back to the mud horrors that most men, most scholars could never even imagine. You are not one for talking when action could do, and when you hear the call of The Priest, you know what must be done. In addition to your Holy Pages, you bring your gun, loaded with your last two Silver Bullets. Blessed by the Pope and bathed in Holy Water, this ammunition destroys Witches instantly-- and you never miss. Twice, at any point during the game, day or night, you can fire your Silver Bullet by PMing the host. If it hits someone empowered with Witchcraft, they die on the spot, even if they are a Veteran. If it hits an unpowered townie, nothing happens. Can do this and deliver scum KP in the same night. Innocent to Blaspheme, guilty to Scrying. The Holy Words and Pages: The Witch Hunter and The Inquisitor, both being traveling men of God, have brought with them copies of pages from The Good Book. Once per game at night, any member of The Inquisition can RB a player. Once per game at night, any member of the Inquisition can Mason a player. This effect lasts until the end of the upcoming day, and absorbs the Pages, making them unusable in the future.

So far it has been great. Thanks!

I don't like 100% accurate DT checks: sure, there's 2 different types, but if you get a red check, you are 100% certain you hit scum. Needs some kind of framer/miller mechanic 2. I presume only town gets witchcraft votes? If town decides to make their votes and the result public, it might allow them to catch scum. It will be at the cost of blues getting shot, but they get new blue votes every cycle anyway... there should be a larger punishment for blues getting shot.

Given that scum gets extra 2 kp immediately if town massclaims their votes, though, I'm not sure that's a big danger. For example, if town mislynches D1 and scum shoots someone N1, then D2 you're at 3 scum, 8 town, and if there's a mass vote claim, blues will be immediately shot with the bullets, moving town 1 step closer to LYLO and reducing their number of blues for the next night.

1) would anyone be interested in playing in or co-hosting this setup? 2) does anyone have a bot I could use for the round-the-clock secret votecounting?

My goal is to host a simple mafia game that's more in-line with RL mafia rules. I really love instant-majority lynch games, but I wanted to set a deadline on Day 1 to prevent it from dragging on too long. I talked over "Silent-Nights" with BlazingHand, and I agree with him that the night-phase in forum-mafia seems very artificial. It's something I want to try doing without. I'll likely start hosting these after New Year's, and I want to gauge the interest for such a game. I'm also thinking of doing the first as invite only to test the setup with a more active player-base.
