People were using information from outside the game to infer alignment. Whether stupid or not, it:s still not part of the game itself and should never have occured. Personally idc what happens to Marv i just dont want this to happen again. | ||

A one game ban is the same punishment you get for afking out of a game and this is clearly more serious. I don't think anything in this thread shows marvellosity realizing that this isn't about him being upset with a host but about him deliberately breaking rules and ruining a game for other players. No remorse, no apology. I also think marvellosity should be a lot more accomodating with hosts, just do whatever instead of arguing everything out. Christ. What's the problem about switching to another QuickTopic if the host wants you to? Just friggin' do it. There is no point in making an example out of marvellosity because this thing happens once in a never, what he did was simply pretty bad and he knew it but did it anyway. I also think the comment about Blazinghand splitting up with his girlfriend was entirely tasteless. This all started with a player disagreeing with a host about how the game should be run (what QuickTopic to use, whether or not Blazinghand should actively argue with a player in a QuickTopic). Maybe we could diffuse such future situations by having players get neutral parties to mediate between them and the host? If marvellosity had asked an iGrok to mediate then maybe iGrok would have had an easier time talking sense into Blazinghand and maybe marvellosity would have had an easier time accepting whatever verdict iGrok came up with? | ||

You're forgetting that afking out of a game is an unprovoked decision, and I was totally livid when I posted in the game. Is anyone arguing I was right to be modkilled? igrok called it totally unjustified. As far as I'm aware, you might give bans to people who just abandon games because there's a real risk they'll do it again and ruin future games by doing the same thing. Do you think I need 2 games and not 1 to 'understand' what I did was wrong? Or do you just want to punish me? Do you really think I don't feel bad for how the game turned out? | ||

Or, perhaps people should just accept that it's the host's game and what he says goes. Independent of how unreasonable it is, it is the hosts game, he can modkill for any reason, up to and including "you used the word 'red'". Yes, its infuriating sometimes, but if you don't like the way a person hosts, you have no obligation to play in their games. Everyone has pretty much agreed that a 1 game ban is appropriate, and given that marv knows what he did wrong and the fact that he isn't just some newbie seeing what he can get away with, I think its the right call. Because I was slow on making the call, I'll allow him to sit out my smurf mini if he wants. That said, it would be fantastic if people who are angry would send me rage PMs rather than acting out in peoples games, which we can all agree is utterly unacceptable. | ||
