Nah we'd probably get silver or bronze. Tyler Hansbrough Jason Kidd a lot of college kids brian scalabrine lol

I think Barea is from Puerto Rico, so he might count as American. David Andersen, David Lee, Kevin Love would be effective bigs. Bonner can hit 3's. Hansborough and Chris Andersen (kiddy porn allegations aside) could work as more traditional bigs. JJ Redick, Kyle Korver as wings? Mike Miller before back problems? Mr. Kardashian? I feel like there's a lot of white defensive shooting guards that I'm missing. And a bunch of people on the 2011 houston rockets. And the Jazz a few years ago and Indiana now.

To be fair, we didn't expect to beat the USA team, but the bar where I watched the game went balistic over the course of that game. Even tho you won, we still consider it a pretty big "moral win" for us. I know that USA is better but everyone has bad games. Maybe today was your bad game. We also lost to France which we should have beaten to be honest. That was our bad game. I see a lof of you are saying that it was more "USA losing" than "Lithuania winning" today and maybe that's true. But you don't even imagine what games like those bring to our hearts. We say basketball is our second religion and we've been saying it with a straight face for like 5 years now. We have to remember that basketball itself is very different in Europe and America. I don't want to take anything from the USA team - they are the best in the world after all, but to me it compares with what happened to the dutch in this years euro2012 soccer championship. A team with nothing but international superstars - didn't even pass the group stage. Just saying there's a slight chance for us. So proud of my team. Also: Remind me to add Lithuania as a country I must visit one of these days. If the basketball atmosphere there is as good as you say it is I should feel right at home. Today's game was pretty interesting to say the least. We saw the United States playing some pretty terrible basketball, and the Lithuanians playing some pretty incredible basketball. Take away a lot of the bad turnovers they had and they would have won that game. That said, even playing well below what you'd expect the US still got the win so I guess that just says how good our team really is.

I always hate when people claim that the top college teams would be able to beat some NBA teams cause no, no they wouldn't. That's why we started sending pros in the first place, and ever since the college teams actually started losing, the international scene has gotten 10x better. Just remember we had a big argument just this past year that Kentucky state was actually better than some NBA teams.... College Basketball fans, some of the more fanatical ones anyway, are truly convinced that the level of play they are a fan of would be competitive with the professional level and it just isn't. Can't convince them though they'll fight tooth and nail on the point. I was actually just having a conversation with my dad and he was wondering aloud when and why the olympics changed their once upheld rule that the Olympics was for amateur athletes only and professionals were banned from participating. I offered the view that under those rules communist or socialist societies held a huge unfair advantage because they could train professionals that technically weren't professionals because they never made a profit off of what they did but rather had all of their needs and wants taken care of by the state, and that athletes from capitalist societies had to be paid to support themselves to ever truly match that level of skill and talent. Basketball reminds me a lot of that in a lot of respects. If the US decided tomorrow to just stop sending top NBA players to the olympics that doesn't mean other countries would follow suit, and we'd end up losing medals that otherwise we would have won just because we didn't send the best we had to offer. And isn't that what the olympics are all about when you think about it? a competition to see who the true best in the world is? That's my rant for now.

I've always wondered why a vast majority of the top white players are not American. Are they choosing other sports or what, I don't get it. He is mixed race
