Or in Golf get your handicap high by playing bad when stakes don't matter then playing way under the inflated handicap when money on the line. CN teams tend to the opposite and look awesome before worlds (lower stakes) and then look awful when the stakes are high (worlds) look at it this way, when CN teams flop they won't have to swim home because the tournament is in china.

Anyway, Fenerbahce do a pretty good job so far. Seems like they are the only ones that could make the play-ins go different than expected.

YG could have easily been first seed in this group. Unfortunate they threw against Fnatic game 1 and cocked up against KLG edit: This may put into perspective why Fnatic players were saying Gambit was good and easily LCS.

First major region loss, that hits home. Although I do have to admit YG are not a bad team, totally agree if not for that dumb loss to KLG they could be first seed.

Even if Fnatic's loss was just an accident they still don't look like top 2 in groups material. This botlane stomp in HKA vs FB xD Varus > Trist, at least today

HKA from LMS already lost vs a Turkish team, which is why we are having a tie breaker right now.

But if your enemy doesn't know where you are, they are shitting themselves while you are farming efficiently. The superleash into full clear is the extreme example of this principle at work. You may laugh, but I got challenger with no pre-6 gank Evelynn a few seasons back xD

The draw for the elimination matches will be super important now, really big RNG factor for this tournament.
