In all, I guess if I was an unbiased League fan, I could applaud the fact that a western team took the reigning champs to the brink and almost ended a dynasty. But I'm not unbiased and I'm pretty disappointed, in Bang especially, that it took five games for SKT to close out a quarterfinals match against a LCS team. I don't know why you'd risk that actually, but apparently that's what you do when you're ahead, bait some smitefights. Sadly, they were in an inferior position and lost because of it. Actually, they were already losing the fight before the smite came down.. Guess they hoped for the Godly turnaround or something. Oh well, RIP, thanks for showing a great game 2, 3 and 4. I can imagine that MSF felt the game was slipping away, esp with Huni split pushing. If you checked the Bot Inhib turret, it was 400-500 hp left and if the game reset into another Baron/Elder dance, Huni would've broken the base because MSF weren't getting any initiations done. Sure, Infernal is far better on SKT with 3.5 damage threats. But with 2.5 items on Misfits and 30 minutes in, the effect the map pressure the scaling gives is more important than the flat numerical advantage.

On MSF it has a big impact on Rageblade Varus and a medium impact on Syndra, but on SKT the Jayce/Jarvan/Taliyah/Tristana synergy would have been extreme. I agree, but when you hear casters hyping up triple infernal on such a weak infernal comp, it's kind of silly. It's why I have so many pet peeves about tower nomenclature, Infernals being called % damage, and damage being referred to as AD or AP damage in casting. Drafts were definitely interesting once both teams "agreed" on banning Censer supports. The Lulu bait was really well done if that was their intention, I don't think I've ever seen Wolf as useless as that game. Infernals can definitely be very impactful, but the Varus(in the case of a fully stacked Rageblade) was getting ~33AD and 75.6-100ishAP(depending on order of operations with Deathcap) on the Syndra doesn't make it a strong Infernal comp like it would have been on SKT considering they had 1AP and 2AD builders.

Calling triple infernal Syndra weak is interesting. Triple infernal is great if you have a high ability to make use of it. Syndra/Varus is not a great triple infernal core. It is nowhere close to 24% increased damage. My issues with casters and infernal is them dumbing down the effects of the dragon and making it larger and more impactful that it actually is. I'd take double infernal with SKT's comp over triple infernal with Misfit's comp. This is the same shit I deal with on reddit where a lot of people thing "overrated" means bad.

The rank 4 W and rank 5 Q are around the same damage (3 damage difference at 630 ap) so results should be similar (in the actual game, syndra was not max level). Note: I ignored Liandries burn, 5 points of merciless, and purple elixir burn damage for simpler calculation. Jayce MR: 64 Syndra AP and AD w/ Infernals: 630 / 133 Syndra AP and AD w/o Infernals: 508 /107 Things besides syndra spells to account for: thunderlord - 170+30%bonus ad,10%ap 2% from sorcery 26 flat mpen No infernal Syndra W 545.6 , 1408 R, TDL 220.8, 554.8 e = 2729.2 w/ sorcery = 2783.784 full damage after mr calc = 2017.23 3x Infernals Syndra W 631 ,1530 R, TDL 240.8, 628 e = 3029.8 w/ sorcery = 3090.396 full damage after mr calc = 2239.42 ~11% damage increase This is just burst though so obviously there will be more damage in a prolonged fight from 3x infernals.

My vote is Trist. While Censer meta is still dominate at this tournament, Trist really shines on two facets: her late game scaling with her range, allowing her to team fight front to back with relative ease, and second, how well she can take down turrets, despite being a "late game" carry. I've seen good Varus games during LCK this season but no one's stepped up on the champion yet imo. I'm not a fan of Kog/Twitch as much but I suspect the CN ADCs will still lean heavily towards hyper carries. She even made Doublelift look good zz. I know we went over "overrated/underwhelming" picks a few pages back but Faker still looks like a god on Ryze, everyone is babo as fk. Shen amusingly enough does best with aggressive teams, using Stand United offensively than defensively.
