I originally wanted to pick C9 for the upset, cause WE seems to be the only plausible seed to get upset in quarters but even then it looks too unlikely so I still went with WE.

You don't think Samsung/LZ is a plausible upset?

Ruler.
Edit: okok, to not have this seems like an entirely shitpost, Ruler looked beyond bad during groups. Does anyone need a reminder of him walking into a Galio taunt at Baron? Compound this with the fact that it's probably still a Censer meta, PraY is going to have a grand ol time imo. I'm legit excited to see FOI Kyuubey vs Khan. Tbh I think the latter has gotten too much praise already and I'm waiting for him to come back down to earth. CuVee and CoreJJ give SSG hope but Ruler is bananas and while Ambition obv helps a ton with shotcalling, it looks like he plays with his feet in the early game. Poor Crown is kinda doing his best Bjerg imitation so far.
Frankly, I was looking for upsets in the perspective of weakest 1st seeds and I don't think anyone is going to argue that's WE out of the four. I don't hold anything against SSG. I really like their solo lane players.

We good.

RIP my Pick'Ems, at least I won't go down alone.

SSG looked fantastic today, much better than in groups.

Welp, that was fun worlds. Whens iem?
Americans don't like to use unblockables, it is considered not honest. You press a button at the wrong time and hit the other person, you are random, not a top player. You DP Sim's far fierce, it is random and not honest.

The skill gaps at Worlds have never been smaller. SSG looked better than G2 in groups but not by much. And they just stomped most people's pick to win the whole thing. This will not be the only upset of quarters, I am sure.

Think you're overhyping everyone too much, SSG is still a KR team, and it's not like anyone said their chances of beating LZ where 0, just that LZ were favoured based on recent performance. G2 is probably the best team in the west, most people would rank SSG 3rd or 4th in KR, unless they win worlds.

Besides, KR teams really shine in series, bo1 always makes teams look closer because you can't prepare as well. I expect SKT to go into their match with some well prepared strats, probably going to exploit player weaknesses in Misfits lineup.

Been around longer than you, bud. I know it happens every year but I can still be amazed at the relative parity of teams in the upper echelons of a sport. You are the guy who acted like a tie between triple G and Canelo wasn't that shocking.

Hahaha. Ok bud.

Anyway the exact same thing happened last year. SSG a team that wasn't looking good brought SKT down to 5 sets in the finals. Just because Korea has a very competitive top end does not mean the skill gap between them and everyone else is becoming smaller. You cannot equate group performance to performance in bracket stages. If that were so then the worlds that Ozone failed to get out of groups would be the closest worlds thus the skill gap has only increased since then. Hell that was the worlds Shield a team that was shitter tier before the gauntlet almost beat SKT.

The groups format is designed specifically to obscure team strength. That's why every single year we have the exact same chorus with the exact same results at the end of the day. We'll see if this is any different but RNG/China have done this in the past so I'm skeptical.
