I mean I only know the guy by his public persona but he seems like a really solid dude, who works hard and really deserves it, I'm happy for him. Regi has said time and again that TSM doesn't change players due to performance, but attitude/behavioral issues. Because of this, Dyrus will have a roster spot until he wants to retire as long as he stay true to his selfless, team first attitude.

Also considering how long he's been around, Dyrus has been remarkably consistent. Sometimes he goes into a bit of a slump but he's never awful.

Yeah, the only times Dyrus has ever been awful is at international competitions, but he even gets better at that every time he goes.

I'm pretty happy to see Lustboy beast it up. Easily my MVP with his sick engages and heads up team fighting. Big reason why TSM won.

Were the games good or was they as stompy as the 3-0 scoreline? First game was really good. Second two were pretty one-sided.

Alright, gonna grab a box of tissues along with popcorn and load up G1 when I get back from work. Thanks for the replies
Bless IEM for giving me so many feels. 'Tis a good month to be a LMS/LPL fan, a supporter of underdogs and a sympathizer to long-suffering KR imports.

He CRUSHED that other guy in the 2v1, up like 40 cs.
Being a good 2v1er isn't all that much about the player but more about the team's strategy and picks. WE played it poorly, it wasn't all Auka's fault. Dyrus has his own issues to work out with like not getting ganked so much. You don't need to feed the jungler kills to take an objective across the map. I think against better teams with better top laners that much feeding would have lead to their loss. Sure, they get an objective across the map but only because WE had poor wave clear and were losing their other lanes.
Bjergsen has to be the MVP of any team. Even SKT can perform decently with Easyhoon over Faker, but I think TSM would be in shambles without someone so dominant.
I actually wasn't impressed all that much by Santorin. Felt like his team carried most of the burden in the early game where a Jungler should make a bigger impact. He rarely ganks or acts on the map until the other jungler makes a move first. If TSM lost their lanes people would be crying about how Santorin never does anything for his team and is basically Bengi status.

yea i hope people dont think winning against aluka is some great accomplishment just based off of one series they won against najin retreads.

I wasn't very impressed with him either until the finals, then he seemed to have a bit more presence in the early game (although it also may have been WE not playing so well either). I think it was the first game against WE where TSM had like 3-4 kills on the board at 15 minutes while Santorin was still 0/0/0 and they were all from lane solokills and 2v2 kills in bot. Not many lanes can create that amount of action on their own.

Problem with Dyrus is that he dies to simple ganks for no reason. You gave one early kill to world class top laner and game will be over no matter if you take early drake or not. Also his champion pool is/will be issue, he can't perform on top lvl on champions that aren't tank. He couldn't play Gnar, even when he was broken, his Rumble is shit, his Kennen super lackluster (not many games this season tho), don't remember his Irelia games, but nothing special probably, Lissandra this IEM...
Dyrus can be effective in domestic play, outside not. Still, choosing between Turtle/Dyrus is hard.

Dyrus can be effective in domestic play, outside not. Still, choosing between Turtle/Dyrus is hard. That's the reason why TSM is putting him on champions that traditionally they have shied away from picking for him. Everything that TSM does from here to worlds should be viewed from the lens of "how far are they pushing themselves out of their comfort zone."

I don't see Regi replacing any players on TSM in the immediate future. There's an incredibly strong synergy on TSM right now and while there are definitely better ADCs in the world, you definitely run the risk of destroying that synergy with a new ADC. Sometimes "upgrading" with a mechanically better player has shown worse team results for reasons uncertain. The most discussed results obviously are Rekkles to Alliance and Piglet to Curse, but then there's also roster changes where the results were somewhat of a mixed bag, like Uzi to OMG (recall in the series vs EDG, OMG won with san/xiyang then lost with Uzi/Cloud).
While Turtle may not stand alone be a top 10 ADC in the world, he does what his team needs him to do for the team to be world class.

Your example are pretty bad, TSM lack second carry, Turtle isn't consistent enough/you can't rely on him to carry vs good teams and Dyrus is role player, nothing else. OMG problem is opposite to TSM, too many carries and Uzi doesn't fitting their style of play. You could put any world class adc on TL/Elements and he wouldn't solve their problems at all. TSM would be instantly be better. The biggest upside of Turtle is that he is rng jesus.

There's no way Turtle is as bad as Woong was on Frost. He's fine, Dyrus needs some work on his champion pool because based on what I saw he shouldn't ever pick Rumble.
