Dyrus was probably the hardest member to deal with when TSM is going against a strong team. God forbid Regi actually do anything vs the people he plays against. Not only were they good, Regi's primary strength is to abuse lack of vision and people being afraid of scraps. When he played against a team with good vision and a mid that realize they actually outscrap regi he just get shit on. Oddone and Chaox just get outskilled, and in Chaox's case specifically he needed Dyrus to either peel his ass or become secondary carry (since Regi won't be doing anything). If Dyrus is shut out Chaox would just die to the assassin mid that got fed from regi every game. i feel like this description of S2 TSM is kind of off, a lot of TSM wins were on the back of oddone snowballing regi by camping... maokai leblanc was their most feared combo at the time, to the point where maokai seemed to be a priority ban against TSM. around then, dyrus was known for just being solid but not exceptional on irelia/jax/singed/mundo/shyvana, his irelia was overshadowed by wickd's(though i'd say roughly equal skill to), his singed was overshadowed by TPA.stanley's (and i also felt TSM was overly reluctant to pick singed when he was actually strong and dyrus was trying to tell them so), and his jax/mundo/shyvana were overshadowed by shy's (darien's shyvana and shen were also clearly better too). he was more solid than a lot of lesser NA and EU tops, but he always felt unexceptional. TSM's upsets were always on the back of regi carrying hard, iirc. Against NA teams and EU teams yeah, Regi and Oddone did work. Regi and Oddone wasn't bad compared to NA and EU players at the time by any means. Oddone ain't no Diamond, but he did his thing. Against the top Asian teams at the time, however, they have 0 chance with their style of play, because that particular playstyle aimed at snowballing Regi and then have him roam gets exponentially worse and worse as the skillgap between Regi/Oddone and whoever their counterparts are gets larger and larger. It's hard to snowball someone that would get straight up solo'd because he's just that bad compared to the other guy. Dyrus, on the other hand, wasn't the noob stomper Regi were but he wasn't going to get solo'd either, which pretty much made him the most solid player when playing against the elites. On March 17 2015 05:12 AlterKot wrote: Then how come TSM are the only ones that teams camp top against and let them take advantages everywhere else? Feels to me like it happens against many teams and it's just that Dyrus isn't as good at playing safe and surviving as good tops. From how jungle presence is prioritized on that team + top lane being top lane, Dyrus is simply the easiest player to gank successfully. It's no secret that TSM has always prefer to split most of the jungle pressure between bjerg and bot, so if you spend time around bot side trying to get a gank on either mid or bot you run the risk of a) wasting time because TSM would have ward coverage that side and b) running into Santorin. While not always optimal, the most obviously play then is to pile on Dyrus. Top lane isn't the safest place to start with and unless Dyrus just backs of to the turret giving away farm and XP every time 2 or more people on the other team goes MIA he's gonna die. It's a choice between playing like a pussy all game and be irrelevant or be behind, but still have enough money and level to influence the game. God forbids the bitching people throws at him if he plays scared every game so the opposing jungle can just go mid/bot for free lol. Have people already forget Innox? | ||
