At any point of IEM Kiev, if you think of an interesting byline, please drop a sentence in the Pro Scene thread. (e.g. "Day 2: M5 hype was everything people expected") At the end of the month, I'll catalogue the results of Kiev but also any interesting facts or events that happen over the course of the tournament. Thanks. Neo, 20.1.2012 |

Wouldn't matter at all, everytime shyv left lane it was pretty obvious she was going into their jungle.
Irelia just couldn't do anything about that.

Wouldn't really served any purpose, shyvana moved into their jungle mainly in plain view after pushing lane to tower >_>

The reason games snowball harder is because teams are more experienced. Openings in chess, serves in tennis, any game that involves deep mastery will tend towards a very important early game because master players will leverage any advantage they get.
By nature LoL allows snowball because you have champions that get stronger throughout the game. In CS the dude you're fighting doesn't get stronger just because he killed your teammate.

Yeah, lvl 1 irelia is already weaker than Shyv.

Phreak: Introducee yourselves. Regi: I'm Reginald, AP Carry for TSM and Captain. Alex Ich: I'm Alex Ich, AP Carry for TSM and Captain.
Phreak: Walk us through the Picks and Bans in the Bo3. Regi: We say their games yesterday so we banned based on that and what we didn't want to deal with. Phreak: So Alex, were your bans based against Regi? Alex Ich: We don't like playing against Rammus. We don't like Karthus. You can't counterjungle against LeBlanc because she just kills you. We banned Cassi over Karthus because she does more damage.
Phreak: M5 pulled ahead really fast in Game 1. What was the cause? Regi: It was the same reason. LoL is becoming a game where you get one buff and then the game snowballs. The same happened Game 2. We got the two kills and that was it. In Game 1, he got Blue fast, pushed me to my tower and then went around making plays. Phreak: Regi says once you stole the first blue you controlled the game. What do you think? Alex Ich: When I survived with 30hp with Galio that was it. Cassi can't beat Galio with a lot of resist and regen. Once I got Blue, we dominated. Cassi can't outpush without Blue. I could push and move to other lanes to gank or help Lee SIn counterjungle.
Phreak: Before the game, Regi you said you had a secret champion. Can you tell us what it is? Regi: I didn't feel comfortable playing it so I stuck with what I played before. Won't tell you what I have secret, sorry.
Phreak: So, Alex, what do you play then? You only played Galio, Ryze and Morde. Alex Ich: I think Morde is #1 hero in the game. Ryze is #2. Phreak: So, you used Shyvanana solotop instead of jungle this time. Why the swap? Alex Ich: Darian likes Shyvanana solotop. Everyone think we can only use her jungle. But solo top you rampage around champion and jungle. In 3rd game we think to use Mordekaiser Skarner Shyvanana combo.
Phreak: What do you guys plan to improve and get better for Hannover in 2 months? Regi: Practise co-ordination and execution with my team. There were key points where we wanted to go to Blue, get Blue but we didn't do it because we were on different pages. We plan on moving to EU, practising in EU, playing in Go4Lols and practising. Phreak: Regi: Alex Ich: We will practise 5-6+ hours a day. Practise more unorthodox combos and new ideas. We also sort out our international passport issue so we can travel to tournaments.
Phreak: Well, thanks for watching.

I give it up to M5 though.
The way they all play together so well and have such hard map control without all the gimmicky play. It's pretty crazy.
Makes LoL look like SC:BW after ~7 years of being established and being well understood.

Why didn't Phreak ask about that Irelia pick. I wanted to know who was behind that decision etc. Doubt regibro would have said a lot but eh.

So sad to see TSM lose it like that :/ But after how Irelia got stomped in the first game they should have known not to pick her. Maybe Teemo wasn't the best pick, but it was better than Irelia, and his shrooms would've helped them be more aware of the counter jungling, especially on purple side when it's so easy to put down the shroom in the tri-bush :/

TSM - Team of Strategy Masters. Cassiopeia was banned g3 otherwise regi would have definately picked her again vs Morde. Except Morde was picked after cass in g2 (huge M5 screw up), and Karthus was picked before Morde in game 3 because M5 would have taken him most likely. In g2 they gave double blood at lvl 1.. can't say too much after that as M5 couldn't play their normal game anymore at all. And the Karthus pick seemed almost baited, they first flashed Karthus, then last second switched to Sona (Sona is one the MVP champions in this tourney btw, but that aside). According to M5 mid his tier list for AP mid is 1. Morde 2. Ryze 3. Gallio so they were never gonna pick Karthus. Cassio just did too much dmg they found so they preferred to play vs Karthus in last game.

@Daniel Find someone from TSM and ask the question of questions. Why Irelia in the 3e game! :p
|
so many games snowballed out of control before 15 mins passed, riot should look at that.

They could just shroom their own jungle.
But I still think that Singed top would have done great too. Shyv can't push lane against singed.

Yep, if you leave lane you miss like the 20 friggin creeps at your tower and all shyv has to do is back off and they've still won. You can't outpush shyv with irelia, and the only thing irelia was gonna do in that lane was possibly stay even in cs as far as lane goes.
