C9's challenger team is really strong. L0D and Yusui are really good.

They have strong players and Charlie behind them. I think having a coach that has gone to Worlds twice and has a lot of experience will give them a huge leg up over other challenger teams. I could easily see Lemon helping with p/b and theory crafting as well.
I might be wrong but I don't see Chaox's team doing well. I think Choax is past his prime and the rest of the team doesn't seem to really be anything mind blowing.

It will depend quite heavily on the group they get, I think and also how good their midlaner is, who just got to NA today. I've seen some people hyping him up on Twitter as their main carry and a really strong player, plus Inori is probably the best NA challenger carry jungler as long as he doesn't tilt and Yuno is pretty good as well. If they get a good group and their midlaner is as good as I've heard, I could see it happening.
To that end, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see some major upsets. The seeds are completely inaccurate in terms of team strength, so you could easily see groups of death with 2-3 strong teams and groups of 2-3 teams that are notably weaker than others. I mean, just look at EUW where Origen is the best team yet they are only like the #6 seed. Liquid Academy has the #3 seed in NA despite never playing a single Ranked 5s game with the players on the team. I fear we will see an outcome where the best 4 teams don't actually qualify.

The Inori argument is one left to be seen, as this random Hard guy (yes lol) legit came out of nowhere and has been exceptional on the SoloQ ladder. I think Liquid Academy's lineup is a bit odd as none of them are support players other than Keith, and if he isn't ADC I personally will be very upset as he is a really strong AD and very fun to watch. I think with more practice TDK can be really good, I didn't watch them "get stomped" by FSN all too much, but I think if they get their minds right they have the best 5 on paper, next to C9 G2A.

For them to succeed they would have to be a team that is able to get their carries snowballed. Yuno is decent, but Chaox has seemed mediocre lately (granted, he might be looking a lot better after all the practice they've done), Their mid can be great, but unless Chaox and Yuno impress I see them being one of the weaker bot lanes which could put a big strain on their team. It might be hard for a carry jungler to get going if he has to babysit his bot, unless he can snowball his mid and himself each game. Take this all with a big grain of salt though because it's making big assumptions about Chaox based on his performance months ago.

I had to post it here because the Reddit bot flags posts with as many links as mine and removes them every time I edit the article, so I re-posted it here so that I could edit it to be more accurate.

Chaox was actually decent during his subbing in CLG, i was expecting way worse things.
Roar dominating Challenger Scene can force teams to pick up 2nd tier Chinese players :> #GoYuno on the other hand.
Hope, Trashy, Seraph and Yuno qualify as top-3 and eliminate Dignitas, T8 and Coast.
Obligatory #GoBeansu post, can't see anyone but Origen overtaking Giants though for EU.

I really want to see Rhux in the LCS, he has so much potential

I used to agree that Rhux was pretty damn good and had tons of potential but he's been trying to get into the LCS for so long that i'm starting to doubt either his decision making or actual skill level. How do you think he would fare against the LCS tops?

Regarding "teams to watch" I would rather look at Demonl0gs then at Sparta.

It's been awesome to be part of the Challenger scene, so it's nice to be able to give back every now and then.

MelonCats have only played one game in the expansion tournament against H2K so their showing wasn't that great. With the jungler Gillius' personality MelonCats is an traincrash waiting to happen. There's a reason why there are 10s of different Gillius's in the challenger and master ladder.
Still sucks that the EUNE teams still get so many spots. Doesn't really make much sense.

It is a shame, but there isn't really a way to make it fair to EUNE. Besides, the number of teams I would say are eligible for getting the LCS spots are all in the top 8 EUW teams who qualified, so in the end it probably won't make much of a difference. Ofc there may always be a dark horse we will have missed, but the current EUW Challenger ladder is basically filled with teams consisting of ex-pros and players who have already had exposure in the scene.

The servers are all in the same place, I think it makes sense to have all teams qualify from one ladder since this way you ensure you get the best teams.
The problem is with people having EUNE and not EUW accounts. I'm kind of torn about it, I think I'd prefer everything on one ladder though. It would be cool if they could make Ranked 5's cross server for EU but that is probably hard.

Meanwhile my schools team is near the bottom of NA challenger lols

So has Ocelote taken himself off of the main roster?
