I was just messing around cuz normals, and usually we were being matched with diamond level players, which wasn't so bad. So I had room to mess around (cuz my friend would usually totes carry me anyways). BUT NOPE. MASTER LEVEL PLAYERS.

LOL.
I just played a bots game with my fiance... A player on our team had a diamond border and proceeded to feed.
20 CS at 10 minutes, 0 kills, 5 deaths in a bots game. Diamond...
The ELO boosting is real.

Anyone got any tips for fighting Azir mid lane? It seems really hard not to be in range of the soldiers. I try trades (and I seem to get hurt WAY more than he does in a trade unless I try to force an all in off a missed Q) or even getting in range to harass but more often than not, I'm basically forced to just cs from behind my ranged line either cs-ing under turret or just wave clearing with spells.

All in at level 1. Regi style.
At least that's what I found works, even if you don't get the kill it forces them to play out lvl 1-4 pretty panzily.

Yeah, Azir is literally useless level 1.

when he q's you is your window of opportunity. run out of the range of the soldiers and trade damage back. standing in range of the soldiers for more then 1 or 2 attacks is the worst thing you can do. one of the biggest mistakes people make against me when i play azir is letting me harass them for free. if you let that happen then you will get poked out of lane.
azir has wave clear and poke/harass. if i am not blind picking my mid, i would pick a champ that can at least compete in those areas. viktor for one needs a few levels but he has definite points where he is stronger in lane.
if you pick something that has a short range, or god-forbid melee into azir you will generally have a bad time. xerath, orianna, velkoz, and viktor are all good against him. i havent seen riven mid in a while but i could see riven dumpstering azir too. zed is okay, not great.
edit: you can level 1 cheese, but that is unnecessary. azir is definitely beatable, you just have to understand the champ and matchup.
there are early game azir buffs on the pbe also. not sure why really.

Did anyone try azir botlane as support?
|
personally i would not run azir support. the way he scales (with items) means to me that he needs a solo lane. in bot he is squishy, has no sustain, has limited cc. leona, blitz, thresh, annie, zyra all sound like nightmare matchups for azir support. not to mention those champs all bring much more to the table with limited gold income.
|
I play Ori. Basically Azir puts the soldiers in the ranged creep wave and just starts auto pushing the wave. Usually their CS kind of suffers from this but they exert a ton of lane pressure because stepping to the side or on front of the soldiers opens me up to a gank really hard. Stepping behind the soldiers basically means I have to spell clear the ranged creeps. If he holds his Q, it gets really tough because a Q auto combo just chunks me really hard.

azir and ori are very similar champions. azir does more damage (generally speaking), ori has more utility. azir soldiers are like ori's ball. i would go into a game as ori vs azir with that in mind. i would run mr blues, rush a chalice, and farm. i wouldnt expect that i could ever kill him 1v1 in lane, just because of the way the two champions are set up. Unless he makes a mistake, which happens a lot with azir players, but i dont like to assume my opponent is shit before the game even starts.
if you want kill pressure on azir in lane, xerath is a nightmare for him. i also have done very well with vel'koz and viktor. velkoz has more damage at a fairly high range, hit 6, land a combo, ult and he will be dead. viktor just straight up does more damage once he hits 6. it might not be that viktor's damage is so much higher, but that it comes out so quickly that it presents a problem for the other guy.
azir is very strong right now, and his strengths are things a lot of mid champs have issues with. especially if you dont go into the game knowing what you are up against.
if its possible, playing some azir games would probably help you a lot. once you understand his limits playing against him is not fun, for sure, but not impossible either.
also, look forward to the early game azir buffs that are currently on the pbe. wtf is that shit?

I hope so, or he's going to ruin a crap load of games next season.

One time my sister played my account against bots (at my brother's encouragement). She was all about Udyr, and resembled an extra drunk Trick2G with the number of ill advised towerdives she executed. Still wasn't as bad as iCanada describes.

Why am I seeing so so many Veigars toplane in the last few weeks? Who started that?

Probably just random. I played a game of viktor the other day because this smurfing duo took my support. Then I decided to watch their stream afterwards and the next two games all had Vik in them. 1.2% pick rate!

I wish Sion had a better passive. I mean, man, in most situations u can't do jack shit cause u will get CC'd or slowed or snared and you can't even land 2-3 autoattacks :\ I like his kit, cause it's super fun but passive is really meh ;/

Eh, if the enemy team burns 2-3 cc on you after you should be dead, I'd say you're contributing pretty well.
