Might as well pop in with my art critique:
Rumble looks good (shadows aside), now give him a better in game model. Shaco portrait is good, but the splash is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too dark. Ahri is about 75 times worse. She looks ugly now and not seductive at all. Blitzcrank is a raging success and turns me on more than the Ahri one. Ezreal is a sidegrade because I can't work out what he is meant to be doing, riding an invisible surfboard? Silver Surfer Ezreal incoming? Janna's face was massacred. Kayle splash is acceptable, but the portrait is dog meat. Wukong looks like something from the 1968 version of planet of the apes. Shen is good, but I'm getting tired of this perpetual midnight in Runeterra. Talon looks like he's aged and doesn't look threatening, even with him about to kill someone. Then again, it's hard to take a blue jumpsuited assassin seriously. Tristana is an improvement, but all yordles still mean nothing to me. Veigar is a success, but that wasn't hard considering his old one. Ditto for Zilean.

only one i really like is zilean, also i agree new lee splash art makes me so angry i dont even want to play him anymore

Love the new art-style & splashes - especially Tristana, Shen & Ahri - huge improvements.

I've no issues with any of these new splashes but wukong. He looks like the srtist is inexperienced, completely stationary and uncanny-valley ish.

Thank you Riot for ruining Janna's splash. Thank you. Not that I expected any better from the organization which let a child's drawing of Cassiopeia go live. Give her hairy legs and abeer belly too, please. What a disgrace. I'm mad, but at least Shen and Cho are 10/10, and there are other goodies as well. Rip wukong though.
edit: oh yeah, Tristana is 11/10, it's an amazing splash. Not only the quality of the drawing (srsly, it looks so... vivid? dunno the word), but it looks so upbeat, giving her an actual personality, other than a "little girl holding a cannon, move on". I'm in love with it.

Can someone please post a link to the new splash art?

Right? She's like "Megglings Yordles love Cannons!" It's great. The one splash turned gave her so much more lively.

Ahri / Janna were massacred (esp Janna who had a great splash) the rest is good.

With the old Ahri you'd play hide and seek for a while and it'd be really fun but she knows magic and stuff so she'd keep winning and then she'd finally let you find her and you'd catch her and make out. The new Ahri is more like, she has that evil twinkle in her eye and even as you start backing out she just follows you and when you hit a wall or a corner you are in for some action, she'll enslave your body with her magic and do whatever she pleases.
You forgot to mention the part where she eats your liver.

I like every new splash except ahri and tristana. Kayle looks especially awesome.

It's awesome, and I'm glad to see more of the terrible/mediocre old art go. It's like people have some sort of emotional attachment to the old art or something, I don't get it at all. You know why I like old Shen better than new Shen? New Shen is black background, black and purple guy doing a stationary pose, weird purple effect that you don't know what it implies.
I mean, as a League player who know the champion and his kit, sure, I can be "oh it's Shen channeling his ult" but otherwise? It's just weird and doesn't say anything and worst of all it's dark so you've got to wonder why they even bothered putting a background. Also glowy eyes. I dunno, if you want to showcase his ult show him shielding someone, or parrying a hit right after arriving with another dude from the Kinkou (not Akali or Kennen, just your equivalent of the Foot clan goon) vulnerable on the floor. From there you work out a pose and stuff to put some lighting on Shen himself, and that'll let you crop it to a portrait without being too muddy. There, you've got brighter colours, a more readable/less lame splash, and you can even present it to new players and they'll get that Shen is a ninja (an important one, not like the fodder dude on the floor) and that he protects people. With a not-dumb/dark portrait.
Isn't that what readability is?
Cho's splash is fine quality-wise, but his portrait is ass because it's all dull patel colours, so you've got some blur of pale red and pale blue. Tristana is wonky but I'm fine with it because it's kinda troll-ey plus it's in line with her CO (cheerful + "look at all the pretty explosions!"). Janna is... wtf? It's like they decided to take what's wrong with models/feminine depiction, but only removed the sexiness. Her shoulder/neck are skinny as heck, you gotta wonder how she doesn't fall over. Plus it's not like the previous one was bad, resolution-wise. Wukong is better resolution but straight-up worse in terms of colour scheme, facial expression and generally presenting Wukong, I'd say. Only thing it has on the old one is that Wukong's face isn't as "srsface" as the old. Talon has better resoluton. That's all. His face is still non-descript, the posture says "movement" but it's not quick dynamic, and the way they made his blade-cloak just creates visual clutter as you wonder "wtf is that thing".
Ahri looks like a possessed girl rather than a seducive woman so, uh... also considering the Ionian heritage and where the champ draws its inspiration from (Gumiho/Kitsune/etc.), keeping (or accentuating) Asian features would be better. Although in their New Dawn cinematic she already looked more like a feral (and helpless) girl than an scheming/manipulative adult, and they're apparently going in that direction. And I'd never even noticed the boobstrap before, till all the comments about it made me look hard at the splash.

Shen's current splash is him standing there holding a sword with no background and it's darker than his new one and his fist is bigger than his head, so...?

At least they don't play pretend with the background, and the tones are alot lighter around his body and face, which is why his portrait is more readable too. It's not just "black-ey, black and dark purple". I didn't say his previous splash was gorgeous, just that this one's worse in my book, especially for all the effort they put into it.

With a not-dumb/dark portrait. Isn't that what readability is? All right, that's very nitpicky. First of all, you should not make an arguement which is basically "new players to lol won't understand what's happening". That's a total non-issue, and after one game playing with shen, it should be apparent, that the pose he makes is almost identical to when he ults in game, and with the coming vu (don't know when it is, but it will surely come) he will probably ult in that posture.
While it might be too dark, overall quality of the splash is just great. It's not cartoony, it's not hasty, it's very well-drawn. Once again, look at Cassiopeia... that shit looks like a sketch compared to this one. Also, Shen looks like a freakin' ninja doing ninja business. It's cheesy, but isn't the whole concept of Shen basically that? Your regular ninja/mortal combat ninja guy. There's not much depth in it, though if they expand the lore, the shen vs zed (or "good ninjas vs bad ninjas" might turn out to be interesting). The only thing I agree with that the splash does not imply whether Shen is a good guy or not. Sure, zed's picture is more colorful, yet one glance at it and you know he's about to steal your lunch money, while Shen's posture is very calm, albeit the spooky background and eyes might confuse you.
Anyway, be glad it's not shitty Lee Sin or Cass quality.

I'd totally go an cuddle and hope she just wants the warmth even though those sharp claws look really scary but yeah maybe she'd totally eat your liver.

lorewise, ahri is much more dangerous to sleep with than old cass. old cass didn't really kill many people, she was just super hot and known for being so, ahri kills people for fun.

Dunno, I saw way too many red flags on old cass art to not want to get closer to her. She seems like a terrible ex to have as well.

The thing I'm actually STILL not over is, because I can't really look at this new splass (hue, first typo but I guess I'd stick with it) art stuff at work (slow computer etc), is that they made Malphite splash look SO COOL, but his in game character still looks stupid as HELL. Why WHY would you do that when the change doesn't translate in game at all. Hope they make Cho' Gath more viscious in game aswell. His new splash is really, really cool too.
